Solo matchmaking has been awful
I like variety in my games so I don't always play with my friends... but lately, I have no idea what's going on with matchmaking. People were definitely hiding in corners and what not before, but now it's gotten so bad that not only aren't gens being touched but I'm more likely to die on 1st hook simply because other Survivors don't seem to care. Now when I go to play as Killer, it's the complete opposite... I get pit against sweaty SWF's that are clearly cooperating and not always in a party. I truly don't like being that "Every man for himself" teammate but I've started to take keys into matches because it's been that bad lately. I never used to mind doing things like unhooking, healing, or popping 3 gens solo but it gets old when you end up dying and nobody bothers to help. And this is exactly how Insidious Bubba's are born...

Yeah it is weird atm.
A lot of people playing for the event. I think that screws the MMR on top. It is pretty random anyways.

It's interesting because I thought things were getting better, but once the event started, that took a 180. I was the random in a 4-man squad today and it didn't matter how well I played or how much I helped the other players. They left me to die and didn't even try to help. When I messaged them they each said, "Collateral damage. You're the random."

Maybe because we don't judge others harshly. I refuse to believe my mmr is that high that I get teammates I rarely have much issues with. Sometimes they do mistakes but so do I.
No one is perfect.

Its been pretty rough. Ive only had a few matches where all the gens got finished, much less any doors gettin opened. Most of the time ppl dc/give up or run around like headless chickens. A surprising amount of ppl that refuse to let me heal, too. Took me 6 matches to get the 'heal 3 ppl with aftercare' challenge cuz everybody was self healin in front of me. Idk....ppl are playin weird

SoloQ was good at the start of the event but it's all downhill from here as more people finish collecting masks. Out comes the WGLF gamers and dead weight.

Im getting my ass HANDED to me last week straight as killer. Random bugs, DC survivors, ridiculously toxic SWF players.

Second Survivor match of the day, a teammate DC's early and the killer stands in front of the hatch just long enough to let me think he'll give it to me before hooking me right beside it and slamming shut it in my face.
It's an experience.

Same. Everyone is new at some point and sometimes people mess up. No biggie right? Then you have people that know exactly what they are doing and don't care.

Same with me. I'm noticing that either the Killer is just being really hardcore or the other three survivors just don't care. I'd like to think that some of my recent matches have been with much newer players but their skill sets are all tier 3 so I can't say for sure...

It's how the game has trained survivors in the solo queue. The MMR mismatch between survivors and killers is often stark, so for most survivors it's a BP grab before you die. Do whatever's quick and you can do easily solo. Hide from the killer, grab some totems/chests, drive-by unhooking, heal someone if sticking your neck out won't get it chopped off right away. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Partially that, but also partially people remembering why events tend to suck. Some of the tome entries are just absurd or you have to throw the trial to do them. Throwing up loads of BP bonuses just to get tunneled out almost immediately or trolled by an SWF the entire trial. Burns people out pretty fast.

90 sec gen time, nerfed Spine Chill, nerfed iron will, nerfed self care. Have a fun as solo
