Why are some non swear words censored in chat?
Understandably some swear words are censored for a family friendly chat lol but literally the word "Cell" and saying the phrase "Sam Fisher" get censored just as badly. I don't even think I can say phrases like "Stranger Things" and "Silent Hill", and I swear one time saying "iri" and "iridescent" was censored?? Can you get sued for discussing other copyrights within a video game chat?

Yay, the weekly thread about how strange the censors work. Yes, they are not reasenable, especially since it's a game for adults about killing people, yet the censor seems to be a copy paste from some my little pony game. Some people collect lists of how many normal words are censored. My personal favourite is that "kill" is also censored. In a game where you can play a murderer.

You can easily go around this type of cencor by typing in a very weird way. You can't even type the word "insta" to say "insta heal" or something like that. So, instead of saying "you brought instaheals" you have to say "you brought an add-on to heal you immediatly"

The best part being that the literal main menu contains the phrase "Play as Killer" but you can't say that in the in-game chat, and Killers are often called that in-game. I think they acquired some sort of premade weird third party chat censor that also hated all brands lol, they should really revise the chat filter manually.

There are so many offensive word lists that cover actual words that need to be censored better than this, and there's no need to censor normal swear words either?? I swear it wasn't always like this lol

I know the only time you guys have maybe ever seen a censor system is when someone says bad words, but infact this one in post game chat also tries to censor out unessesary names and social information.

I think they need to do an overhaul of their censoring system. Sometimes when i'm using the most innocent words or even characters names or perk names it gets censored... like even things apart of their game gets censored??? I hope they put this on their list of things to fix up. 😁
