You guys want a WENDIGO Killer?
I think it'd be cool. New Killer and new Survivor.
From Wikipedia:
Wendigo (/ˈwɛndɪɡoʊ/) is a mythological creature or evil spirit which originates from the folklore of Plains and Great Lakes Natives as well as some First Nations. It is based in and around the East Coast forests of Canada, the Great Plains region of the United States, and the Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada, grouped in modern ethnology as speakers of Algonquian-family languages. The wendigo is often said to be a malevolent spirit, sometimes depicted as a creature with human-like characteristics, which possesses human beings. The wendigo is said to invoke feelings of insatiable greed/hunger, the desire to cannibalize other humans, as well as the propensity to commit murder in those that fall under its influence.[1]

Could be cool, I'd rather get my werewolf first though.

Like in general, or from a specific movie/show/etc.?

Isn't Hag a wendigo?
12 -
Unlicensed, their own "entity touched" interpretation of a werewolf. Make it their own.

When they released a teaser trailer for the twins. I thought that was the Wendigo from Until Dawn.
1 -
We already have one, Hag is pretty much a voodoo version of the wendigo.
1 -
Hmmm. I honestly don't know. In her lore she's a human who was preyed upon by cannibals. I think in Wendigo mythology, it's not a human, but a humanoid creature. Maybe she was inspired by the idea? But since they didn't say it explicitly, I think they can still make a Wendigo and have it be unique from her.

A Wendigo or skinwalker would be awesome.
3 -
I think there's still room for an actual Wendigo.
2 -
Oh really? I'm going to have to rewatch the trailer and check it out. I don't think I've ever guessed a teaser right lol

As far as I know the wendingo is a spirit that posseses humans and gives them the desire to eat and kill other humans or humans who become wendigos because they get overpowered by gluttony or greed.
Once possesed/transformed the victim has the appearance of a very thin human to the point of looking emaciated, bones and joints being almost visible because it has very little meat to cover them, with eyes completely sunk and the mouth contorted without lips. They look and behave pretty much like Hag minus the tendency for hanging people on hooks and teleporting power, even her Mori is about eating the victim.
I think you may be mixing the modern media depiction of the wendigo which has been made more monstrous and eldritch than the folk one or in some cases they mix a wendigo and the sasquatch and give them hairy coats and ape like features.

doesnt matter, they could have another, more feral

If I recall correctly, wendigos can be humans who become so after preying on other humans. Hag is very similar to a wendigo. So is Bubba but.... Differently...

Oh yeah, I definitely don't have a solid knowledge of the folklore (although there are bound to be some differences amongst the tribes and iterations over time). My main point is, we don't have a "Wendigo" specific Killer (even if she is inspired by one, the name itself doesn't appear in the lore, and there is no corresponding Native American survivor to make it a truly Indigenous chapter). DBD has Killers with some overlap (Billy and Bubba, Mikey and Ghosty), and people want Jason (even though we have Trapper), so I think there's still room for a true Wendigo even with Hag. He'd have a totally different power and his look, though similar, would have to be distinct. I think it could work. Do you?

You know, I've heard over the years people wanting a shapeshifting Killer. On that note, Bubba does kinda shape shift . . . at least his face does. Bubba is more all encompassing than I thought haha

If I had to pick, I'd like a classic werewolf, not something like the werewolves from . . . Twilight
0 -
Well Twilight is not the direction I was going at all lol
0 -
lmao reallyyy? Well that's shocking. I thought that'd be everyone's first pick. 😉
0 -
Rofl I hope not. I'm think more like from Underworld, if you've seen that.
0 -
As long as it isn't sims 4 "werewolves"
0 -
I'd take a lycan over them any day 😂
(by the way, thanks for the genuine laugh haha)

I want to see more "Humanoid" Killers. Like a killer bride, next-door neighbor, the boss, etc. Humans are the scariest simply because it could be anyone you know.
0 -
In all seriousness, in real life, the most depraved Killers are often the ones you'd never expect. The "normal" ones. So yeah, you're right.
1 -
I don't wanna deal with half the community thirsting after the "wendussy" so I'll pass
0 -
Ugh. Dude.
Gross.
0 -
Yup exactly! Kind of like the lore they gave Ghost Face in DBD. He's a working guy by day, Killer by night.

If they ever do a wendigo I just want a until dawn chapter
1 -
This was also my first thought when I saw the Thread title. 😁

I never played that before. I'm guessing you really liked it :)
Side note, I don't know if your name is your real name or just an homage to the Greek myth, but I wanted to give it a shout out. It's nice! :)

Yes, I enjoyed Until Dawn, I really like style game where it feels like the story can go any way based on your choices. If you don't have Play Station, Supermassive's other games are also on PC (The Dark Pictures Anthology). They're fun too. Until Dawn would make a fantastic licensed chapter with potential for the Wendigo killer and several survivors/legendaries though. The game actually has some quite famous actors (like Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere), so I believe it could make for decent sales.
Thanks for reading to my pitch (hopefully Behaviour read in here 😂).
And thanks but no not my real name, that one's lot more boring. And who uses their real name online? Or are you actually called Ash? 😂 But I'm indeed a Greek Mythology enjoyer. 😉

Well now I feel personally attacked! My legal name is Ash Inthe Tallgrass. It's a family name, and I'm very proud of it! 😂
I do have PS4, so I'll check it out! You should make a whole post about that. Maybe a lot of other people agree with you. BHVR might take note then. (A girl can dream at least, right?) I've made so many comments on the forum about one of my dream chapters (The Mummy), but I'm still waiting on BHVR to do it . . . ☹️

Gosh, I'm SO sorry, I didn't mean to offend you and your family, of course. So, is Inthe a middle name or a last name? And if the latter, then why are you not hyphenating it? 😏
Oh, yes! The other day I was actually talking to my partner - who does not play DBD by the way, but we always come up with ideas for new chapters together anyway. 😂 And I said I would love an Egyptian mummy killer (maybe we'd finally get a desert map by night with a tomb main building?) And preferably I'd like it to be a license from The Mummy. I don't have a full on concept yet of how one could work in the scarab beetles and "spell books" etc yet but would love to see it!
1 -
lol well you should be sorry! So culturally insensitive! 😂
Yes! I've thought the scarabs could be part of the mori (and mummifying you alive, like what happened to Imhotep). Maybe the book could be included as a secondary objective, like how we have to shut off TVs/insert tapes. Or maybe just the name/image will be an add-on. Not sure.
Sigh. I just want an ancient Egypt map, with tombs as a main building (maybe even include the treasure room just for fun), with pyramids visible in the backdrop. Maybe even a Sphinx.

I really hope we see a Wendigo killer in the future, but one with a skull head and antlers version of the Wendigo
0 -
Devs did this with Trickster and they got severe backlash even though the execution was really well done.

strictly speaking, that version of the wendigo is kind of a bastardised version of the mythology behind it. As others have pointed out, the Wendigo as such is all about greed and insatiable hunger in all senses of the word. Cannibalism, as such, was merely a side effect.
It never had the antlers, nor the beast-like features. It was simply a severely corrupted human being.
To that end, Hag's design is...somewhat accurate. She's emaciated, yet fueled by hunger above all else. To this day, she's the only killer with a Mori that actually has her eat part of the survivor.
I would recommend youtuber Painticus' explanation of the mythology, where he primarily focuses on how it's depicted in indie video games.
if youre just looking for an explanation of the mythology, it's from 13:00 onward

Until dawn Windigo. Sam is the survivor. The cabin and surrounding area is the map.

So, the Hag's appearance does have a few similarities to a Wendigo, but she is actually based on another mythical being, which is called exactly like her name, a hag, witch is a shortening of hægtesse, an old english word for witch. Her tome confirms that, as legends about witches are briefly mentioned (by the way, she still needs a second tome, because the one she got sucked). Having a hideous appearance, living in a woods or swamp, making use of magic and eating human flesh are all traits associated with hags. Another detail is how her body has the same colors as her swamp: her chapter's poster even had her looking more green, and sometimes hags are despicted with green skin. The only major difference between her and a traditional hag is that she is not an old lady, but a young one who got disfigured by her cannibal kidnappers.
Meanwhile, her hexes and the fact that she can spread her presence across the map seem to be inspired by The Blair Witch, as the characters from the movie find similar symbols made of sticks tied together, and they seem to be conected to the force that is keeping them lost in the woods.
