Listen, when do you offten use dead hard? When you approaching a pallet / window and just before you are about to reach it you press E to dash / dodge, where killer can't bait it out. Well now, if the killer hits you right before you each pallet / window, you will get bigger speed boost (literaly 3rd health state lol) and just run to a next loop safely without droping the pallet.

Or lets say you get mind gamed (you fail for the killer) on a short / medium loop. You are again close to reach the pallet / window... same case.

Now when you are in the open / dead zone, if you are unlucky and you hit the Survivor (lets say you wait 1-3s before you will want to hit them to try to bait it) they will get away from you for free. So from "dead hard to distance" to "3rd state escape from dead zone".

Some Survivors are really patient and good at waiting for you to swing so they might just got free 3rd state most of the time.

I was kinda thinkin the same. At least its more skillfull. And you can maybe just grab them.

Edit:considering it no longer gives the other effects maybe it is dead. We will have to see.

No, I'm happy with it, dead hard is no longer going to be as oppressive as it once was, keep in mind there is no dashing anymore and there is no like 2 seconds of invulnerability. Dead hard is dead.

ill have to see the reworked dead hard in the ptb then.. we will see then if it still is as strong, hopefully they did remove the power-eating powers of dead hard and it's actually healthier. if not then i don't know guess we can only wait and see.

It's only a buff if you're using it properly. There'll be no more lunges to reach a pallet or window that the killer can't do anything about, because now the survivor actually has to time their use with the killer's swing, which means that the killer has some kind of counterplay to it; they can now actually bait it out.

It saving a survivor from a mindgame isn't that big of a deal when put into the wider context of it basically doing nothing else and killers getting faster action speed across the board, at least in my opinion. It's okay for perks to help survivors not go down in chase, generally, and the new version of Dead Hard looks like it's a much more fair and balanced example.

I'll take a single second of endurance over a second of super speed. Going to be a LOT harder to greed pallets now, and will come down to mindgames. Will the survivor press E to outplay the moment the killer doesn't have to lunge to hit them, or will they try to wait until the last second before they hit the pallet? There's more thinking involved than "ok, super speed as you pass the shack window and now EZ pallet" and I like it. It didn't nuke the perk from orbit but rather made it a true mindgame as opposed to EZ outplay.

It wouldn't be DBD patch day without someone insisting a viciously murdered perk was actually buffed, you guys. Now the day feels complete.

The fact that it has no tell means its going to be stronger once people get good at using it because now you get 1 second of invulnerability and if the killer falls for it (which he has no way of avoiding because they cant tell if you've used it or not) will result in the survivor getting a 1.8 second speed while the killer sits through 2.7 second hit cooldown

edit: this is assuming there isn't an animation for activating it anymore, if there's still an animation, it's fine.
