No More Dead Hard! :D
Can't be happier to say cya to the player base glued to DH< DS<BT<IW etc builds who have bullied me and t bagged endlessly thinking they're so great at survivor. Let's bring some skill into this game now, the upcoming changes are great!
Dead Hard
Current effect: When activated, become immune to damage and dash a short distance.
Dead Hard is by far the most used perk by Survivors, and it’s easy to see why. In the right hands, it acts like a third health state, allowing a Survivor to escape a situation where they would otherwise go down.
There are two main ways Dead Hard is used: To dodge a hit and for distance (to get to a nearby pallet or window). In the latter case, there’s not much a Killer can do. Therefore, Dead Hard will now provide the Endurance effect for 1 second when activated. If you time it right, you’ll prevent the hit and gain a movement speed boost.
This will remove “Dead Harding for distance” and make it solely used to dodge hits, which Killers can anticipate and even bait accordingly.
Decisive Strike
Current effect: After being unhooked, Decisive Strike activates for a long duration. When picked up, hit a special skill check to instantly wiggle free. Deactivates when used or when performing various actions.
One of Decisive Strike's main appeals is its efficacy at preventing tunneling. In light of the upcoming base game changes, we expect Decisive Strike to drop in usage slightly.
For the most part, we find the perk to be healthy for the game, and easily avoidable for Killers who choose not to tunnel an unhooked Survivor. That said, at the end of the match, there’s often nothing the Killer can do to prevent a Survivor with Decisive Strike from escaping.
Moving forward, Decisive Strike will now deactivate once the Exit Gates are powered. In addition, the stun duration has been reduced from 5 seconds to 3 seconds. We’ll also be simplifying the description of the perk: Decisive Strike will now be cancelled by Conspicuous Actions.
Borrowed Time
Current effect: Survivors you unhook gain the Endurance effect for a short duration, allowing them to ignore a hit that would otherwise put them in the dying state.
Much like Decisive Strike, this perk gets much of its popularity by granting counterplay against a camping Killer. Considering a lighter version of Borrowed Time’s effect has been added to the Survivor’s base kit, we need to update the perk accordingly.
Borrowed Time will now extend the duration of the Endurance effect of unhooked Survivors by 6/8/10 seconds and increase the movement speed bonus duration by 10 seconds for any Survivor you unhook. These effects will be cancelled if the unhooked Survivor performs a Conspicuous Action.
While the overall duration with Borrowed Time is longer than before, we expect that having a lighter version in the base kit will cause the usage rates to drop.
Iron Will
Current effect: Makes your grunts of pain silent.
This perk allows skilled players to mind-game more effectively in many areas by silencing grunts of pain. To address its high usage rates, we are lowering the grunts of pain reduction to 25/50/75%. Additionally, Iron Will is no longer active when Exhausted – though it will not cause Exhaustion itself.

your gonna see people running SPRINT BURST which is better then DH and increased PT users.
6 -
Hey atleast i can throw a hatchet and ill get a hit or not instead of 100% 404 error cuz of Original DH
4 -
Dead hard sucked anyways sb for the win with 99 which is dh on crack.
2 -
No it isn't.
Sprint Burst was NEVER better than Dead Hard, the only people who say this are meming.
Dead Hard has been the go to exhaustion perk for YEARS, and it's entire existence invalidated nearly every single M1 Killer.
The ONLY Killers Sprint Burst is better against are Killers with an Insta down, like Bubba, Billy, etc.
11 -
It's basically a scuffed Street Fighter 3 parry which.....sounds kinda hype.
0 -
how does SP require skill? you wait for the killer to get close to you, then you press forward lol. and theres also no skill and making your sprint burst charged so u can stop running for 1 second then sprint off.
0 -
lol. self care was still a meta perk. dosent mean it was BETTER TO USE. SP when used properly, was always better.
1 -
No it wasn't, there has never been an instance in my life when playing Killer in DBD where I have thought "Oh thank God, they have Dead Hard instead of Sprint Burst".
Dead Hard is the most complained about perk for a reason.
5 -
Sprint Burst it perfectly balanced because you have to time it and it doesn't make you immune to damage which was the big difference to DH. You couldn't take any dmg in any situation pressing the button, plus you could GO OVER BEAR TRAPS with original DH. It needed to go a long time agoo
1 -
DH sucked only for noob loopers.
1 -
thats because dead hard is a very annoying perk to vers, plus its used more, hence why you get more complaints. most people who use dh, totally ######### it up.
with SP, u can just press forward and u get 100 percent value from it everytime. distance plus holding the SP charge in a chase> trying to time your dh or dead hard into a wall
1 -
At least sprint burst doesn't give I frames at any point in the chase.

I expect SB will get A LOT of hate once DH gets nerfed. I've been saying SB is wayyy better than DH and takes less skill.
6 -
Dead Hard will still see use, just not 75% of survivors using it. It’s losing some of its secondary abilities, but its prime function to allow a survivor to give themselves a safe buffer to reach a vault or pallet is still there (e.g. trigger it when you are 1 second out from dropping a pallet and most killers won’t be able to stop you). It’s definitely weaker now, though, because it won’t be able to for example dodge over Trapper’s traps or dodge Deathslinger’s spears or avoid a killer grabbing you during a vault animation.
So I’m sure there are survivors who will still use it, especially the ones who were already good at dodging hits with the current version. But I’m sure a lot of other survivors will switch to other things.

all that will change is they will hit it right before running through a pallet or window.

+1
1 -
Lol at most circumstance a 99'ed sprint burst is better than DH.
0 -
Yeah but those situations where they dead hard to a vault, or to a pallet, or over a bear trap, is going to be gone. turning off the hit maker all together when you're almost inside their body and they hit the button and you swing and nothing happens was majorly annoying. There's not much skill in pressing a button for that big of a benefit
0 -
Thats all going to be the same except they just have to choose clser loops 1 second of iframes you can still walk over a trap.
0 -
No you can't walk over a trap even with BT
0 -
For its original intended purpose yeah, but when you could use it for distance... easily the best perk in the game.
0 -
Its no longer I frames, its endurance and endurance isnt I frames just a temporary health state.
0 -
I will never understand why people are SO mad at Dead Hard. Literally just chase them and get really close, most of them freak out and use it too soon. XD
0 -
I like the dead hard change, it will still be kinda strong but at least you don’t get free distance from it anymore.
0 -
Dead hard will still be used a lot and will ensure safe plays.
0 -
Yay no more crying...
Oh wait, now you're gonna cry about something new. 🙄
2 -
Don't be so sure about that.
0 -
It's a little funny how suddenly people starts saying SB is better.
0 -
Yeah well if they can prep their SB, to 99%, they deserved to get away from me, it's a nice balanced perk, don't know why people think it's better than DH
1 -
Sprint Burst isn't a third health state for a survivor that got outplayed
1 -
I'm very amused at the delusions people have about Sprint Burst.
0 -
Old Dead Hard: 0.5 second window
New Dead Hard: 1 second window
Old Dead Hard: 6m travel distance
New Dead Hard: 12m travel distance
Old Dead Hard: Straight-line movement that could run into walls or corners if not aimed correctly
New Dead Hard: Full control over your character's movements
Old Dead Hard: Able to make it to pallets but prevented you from vaulting
New Dead Hard: Able to make it to pallets AND vaults
Old Dead Hard: Movement only
New Dead Hard: Free range of motion under the invulnerable status, including uninterruptable unhooking
What part of "They made Dead Hard BETTER" do people not get? The perk that 75% of survivors used will go up to 100% if this rework goes live.
4 -
People have been saying SB is better forever, it's not new.
However, honestly with this change, I don't see people stopping using DH. In fact, I this entire patch isn't going to affect the survivor meta at all. It just makes survivors weaker. If I play survivor, I'll still have to use the weakened Decisive Strike, I'll still have to play the weaken BT. If I ever ran DH, which I don't, I wouldn't stop using DH.
The developers nerfed a bunch of perks that survivors basically have to use. Then buffed a bunch of useless perks. "Buffing" a useless perk like Dark Sense, or Pharmacy, or Calm Spirit where you add another useless ability isn't going to make me use them. My god what a stupid patch.

It's also worth noting that Borrowed Time just straight-up got better too, despite being a massively used, Meta perk. The "we think fewer people will use this" was solely because everybody gets a smaller version for free, so it frees up a perk slot for another second chance perk.
Not actually a lot of survivor nerfs in these meta perk reworks (other than the massive hit to Self-Care and Spine Chill)
0 -
It's really new since that perk changes shown up tbh.
0 -
DH i think will be better at high level play. These are survivors who hold their dead hard to avoid the hit. Now they get that endurance and gain a ton of distance from taking the hit under endurance. Personally DH for distance should've been kept and the invulnerability should have been removed. So if a killer was able to make the hit, even if the survivor hits DH they still get the down. Using DH to create more distance between yourself and the killer just makes more sense than a free MOM.
0 -
If it kept the distance and lost the invulnerability, it should have a 3 second burst of speed like all the other endurance abilities.
0 -
Better? Yes. More fair? Also yes.
People saying "but sprint burst tho" don't understand how silly they look, cause they think that's some sort of "gotcha". It really isn't. For a variety of reasons.
1 -
This. It may not work this way in practice but if anything it’s like they buffed it in most cases.
0 -
Yeah but it's gonna be like 1 second of endurance, so it has great potential to go both ways hopefully.
