Why Does BP Limit Still Exist?
Is there a specific reason that we players cannot hold more than 1,000,000 BP? In the attempts to reduce grind in the future update, I am surprised this topic was not addressed. Being able to hold as much BP as we want for upcoming releases or whatever reasons we have would help out a lot in reducing future grind.

There was this pretty dumb reason BHVR once (or mabye more times) said that they don't want people to instantly p3 newly released characters.

Its there that people actually play a new killer or survivor and dont just run them from zero to P9 within an hour of release, just to unlock their perks, their bloody cosmetics and their perk charms adn then never touch them again.

which we do now using tomes.
I just p3 all perked Dredge, using tomes, rank rewards, BP saved, and flans.
that old reason is no longer valid.

They said they were gonna up it and then just didn't. Changing values in a database is very difficult for bhvr.

Well the old reasons were so people dont max out characters straight away upon release. Which now with the prestige changes seems like a weaker argument on some level.
The other original reason was to be able to detect hackers easier. Back when the million hardcap was introduced there was quite literally no way to go over it. So it was way easier to notice a hacked account that had 100 million BP or whatever.
Recently the devs were talking about how internally its a tug of war to keep the BP cap now. Considering how many ways there are to fly over the cap.
Its kind of a relic now. I think eventually it will be phased out or at least pushed up because 1 million is kind of a joke.

So instead people pour BP into new characters yet not play them anyway until they have good perks on them?

Not to mention now they literally pin the threads on this forum with graphic showing you how to "save" BP nodes in tomes.... like, they encourage you to save your BP via tomes so ANY argument about "too much BP saved to p3 a new killer" goes right out window
theyll have to raise it one day, its only becoming more obsolete as time goes, especially now that they promote tomes the way they do
1 -
And why...
People bypass the limit by just saving their BP's in the tomes, so literally who cares. Hell, last I saw there was a literal pinned guide ON THIS FORUM of the optimal path to take on the tome to save BP. lmao

precisely.

But who cares if they do...

You know you can just farm BP on other killers and then just level the killer up right? Like... I don't HAVE to play Artist. I can just play legion, get high up in BP, and then upgrade artist along the way. (which is what i've been doing because artist is boring)

Good point. I kinda forgot about the whole Tome nonsense which is funny considering I have roughly 4 million BP hoarded in tomes right now to help level the characters in the next Resident Evil chapter.

I know, and my post wasn't exactly serious. In the past this was always stated as the reason why we had BP limits and I thought it was humorous to jump on the band wagon and directly talk about the new P9, like it was common knowledge.
But that aside, yeah: you can definitely use other characters to farm BP, I mostly did all my grind with killers, even for most of my survivors, because they got the higher mean BP gain, but its also true that a new character is more interesting, if you got stuff to unlock. Once you got it all some people might pull out their old, trustworthy builds,

Even though you still can by saving challenges in the tome kek ######### w.

I mean this seems kinda irrelevant now seeing as you can do that anyways by saving up rift rewards + rank reset rewards. I p3’d both the dredge & Sadako day 1. 💀

I mean, I got to 8 million BP just from log-in rewards and promo codes over the last 6-8 months.
And since there's no good reason to spend BP before the prestige rework happens, there's zero reason to play the game.
So, BP cap: working as intended?

I personally don't think players should have to play characters they do not enjoy playing in the first place. It should be the player's choice on how they obtain the perks and prestiges

Yea, it's kinda stupid to have a bloodpoint limit, since it's no longer relevant with Tomes and other stuff.

That's a really stupid reason. xD I mean, you can basically hold 1 mill, level them up to 50, use all their offerings to get back up to a million and redo it. It's not that hard.
