Why is "Kill him" censored in game chat??

If I type "Kill him" in any context, its censored, why would that be??

Found it out while in the PTB and trying to text them "Found it funny he dc'd after I was about to kill him".

    Because the Chat Filter does not make sense in a game like DBD. Usually, something like "Kill him" can easily be censored, but it does not make sense to censor it in a game, where one side is killing people from the other side.

    Meanwhile, writing insults with spaces in between the letters seems to work for some things, best Chat Filter 11/10, would like to get insulted again.

    (Not saying that now everyone should try to avoid the Chat Filter, but it is just laughable that it triggers on harmless words or Killer Names, but does not trigger when people are actively trying to avoid the Filter...)

    anything that can be used as death threats or wish for suicide has been muted. anything that can be used as an insult has been muted.

    I guess they cbf to deal with reports so muting chat is easier.

    Same reason Myers, Thompson house, and half the other things in the game are.

    Sometimes if you make a typo, it doesn't realize what you said, and will just block that word too just in case.


    It's dumb and they need to let us disable it. I don't understand honestly, how they messed it up. I've never seen a developer screw up just making it block certain keywords.

    "Hey, here are a few dozen really bad slurs for you to block, cool, done"

    Whatever they are using is attempting to block like, triggers that are not necessarily words. Like words it doesn't recognize at all, things it thinks are names, words that could have alternate meanings but one of them could be bad, etc..... and it does not work.

    They got their chat filter from filters-r-us and didn't adjust it for a murder game.

    Nah, its better with the age of empires 2, where they censor persian douche, so if you want to warn you opponent about what you are going to do, you can't XD
