Hex ruin or no hex
With ruin being changed to 100% and getting half the regression should it still be a hex?
I am honestly kinda torn on this I don't run ruin due to chance to lose it early but still having the same gamble for half the power feels off.. Let's be at least kinda civil in here and would like both survivor and killer debates on this.

I would mainly be worried about solos if Ruin wasn’t a hex, despite it being dropped from 200% to 100%.

If ruin is just going to be the measly 100% regression than it shouldn't be a hex NOR should it be removed once you kill someone. There is literally ZERO reason to use ruin even in it's current hex 200% state. You lose it within a minute of the game because once people realize you have it, they just scour for it. And that's the perk... that's it.
It's only semi useful with undying and even then that extends it's lifespan from one minute to a solid minute and a half.
Make it just Ruin and not Hex: Ruin. And remove the idea that killers should be punished with the removal of a perk because they are doing their job and playing well. That is ridiculous.
100% regression is base regression speed, which is genuinely nothing. You need to let the gen regress 40 seconds just to get 10 seconds of progress off of it. It's useless.

Shouldn't be a hex at this point if it goes away after a kill

@MandyTalk I think this is something the community should discuss. What about your opinion?

This can be said about a lot of hexes. I stopped running them a long time ago because they lack longevity. I think they should get rid of hexes in general and turn them into regular perks. BHVR could increase their requirements for them to not be "broken" OR they could make it work like a secondary ability. Running 4 perks plus a hex might be gamebreaking but in their current state they are relatively useless and quickly destroyed.

yeah, ruin has no bussiness being a hex if it automatically deactivates when you kill someone, too many negatives to justify its usage over Pain Resonance, Eruption, Call of Brine, Pop Goes The Weasel, Jolt, Overcharge, kicking the generator yourself or even a meme impossible skill check build

With the halving of regression speed and having it deactivate upon the first kill, removing the hex status is the only way it will be worthy of play. As it is now, it's dead.
But if they are trying to change the meta, that's probably the point. You're not going change usage by balancing the changes.

Honestly if they want it to be that trash it definitely doesn't need to be a hex anymore. Even against low mmr bad survivors it deactivates if the killer gets too ahead.
If it stays a hex like it is now no one will ever run this perk again.

If at it's best, it goes at the normal regression speed and it deactivates after a kill, I agree that it shouldn't be a hex. There's too big of a risk of losing it for this effect. Not to mention the "deactivates after a kill" makes it an almost 100% chance of losing it. Obviously there would be cases of just having a really bad game and not able to kill anyone, but I'm not sure current Ruin would help much more in those situations. Honestly, if you need a gen regression perk post-update, run Pop. Pop is literally better than new Ruin and you don't see the devs turning it into a hex.

Oh btw, new ruin takes 9 seconds to regress 2.5% of the generator. kicking a generator after the update will literally give you more value than the new rui
