After the update - survivors

As we all know there is coming a lot of big nerfs to survivors. The meta will barely change, a slight change in exhaustion perks like dead hard and spring burst since i still belive dead hard will be massively used.

But what really changes? -- more gentime , more gen regression perks and buffs to tanatophobia etc

Are we really looking forward doing more gen time as it's already a borefest?

Survivors are you going to have a bad time with these changes? Will you keep playing or just testing it out to see if it's that bad? I'm sure a lot of solo survivors will suffer in agony as well.

How will you approach this and could this be the possible end of your time with dbd?

Have the devs done enough things to keep the game fresh enough? they don't add anything fresh to the game as in new objectives, new obstacles or new game modes?

Let's discuss, my fellow survivors

I mean I'm definitely not going to quit the game until i've tried the changes for myself, but they don't sound good at all for now. I think i'll play and leave for a couple weeks if the changes are bad (the time for the devs to tweak them), and I'll decide to stop playing or not depending on the balance changes made then, because i won't have the patience to wait an other year (at least) for an other "meta change".

I will not quit. But I will most likely not play as much as before. And this is fine, the grind is reduced for me. And I dont need the 70 days to complete the Rift anyway, so I can slow down a bit in this aspect.

But my overall playtime will drop, because I am not really happy with the changes and really disappointed in BHVR.

And when I play, I will have to be way more efficient. No more Gens with other Survivors, splitting up as much as possible to counter the fact that Gens take longer.

I can't say I'm surprised they dropped a hot steaming pile of Amber Heard on their bed with this update. To say I'm reluctant to see these changes go live would be an understatement. Like others, I probably won't uninstall, but much less playtime on survivor unless it's SWF...no solo Q hell at all now for me. I will only be jumping on killer for solo games at this point.

I don't have to try the update out to know that solo queue will be a pain.

My biggest current solo queue problem: gens go extremely slow while survivors go down extremely fast.

Why should I try and see whether if we make gens even slower and downing survivors even faster my games are getting better?

To make this clear: this is my experience in my MMR and my region and the time I'm playing. I don't claim it's like this for everyone. But I can't see what I could do to get a better experience.

"End of my time with DbD" would sound a bit dramatic. Maybe at some point new people take over in the design group and something changes that'll make the game playable again. Let's call it an extensive break I'll take from the game. I'll probably be playing killer when I feel like playing, though I don't like their new balance philosophy that the killer should feel unstoppable and survivors should fear him. I don't want to fear another player in an online game, nor do I want to get feared when I play killer. I want a fun action game with a horror theme, that's why I bought the game.

Plagues and Legions running Thanatophobia will not be worth playing against. And if people thought Deathslinger was annoying before, wait until he gets 10 stacks of STBFL (a perk I run on him, so I already know how broken it can be). Multiplayer games are at their best when there's a balance between casual fun and being able to express a bit of skill. As these games get older, though, they become sweatier. For solo survivors, this update is "more kills, less skill". There won't be fun, there won't be skill.

I'm with you for the last part. It's a PVP game with a horror touch. We shouldn't feared to be against other players. It should be fun. Period.

Deadlock camping will be much easier and probably guarantee a 3k if hook times don’t change. Comp players already proxy camp because it’s a powerful strategy so it will likely continue at all levels.

Tunneling will be incredibly easy with the DS nerf and bloodlust buff.

3 gen will likely become more powerful as kicking a gen has built in pop. I predict the killer meta will still be 4 gen slowdown (why is thanatophobia not considered meta? It definitely is a meta perk?). Hit and run is an incredibly boring strategy that is stronger now.

Solo survivors will probably have a .5 escape average while a sweaty four man SWF will probably have a 1.5 average. Built in BT won’t make much a difference. Overall horrible game balance decisions.

Why buff bloodlust? Killers should be rewarded for holding W? This is the same problem as old legion. Chases are now a 30 second cutscene if you play it perfectly unless you drop shack pallet.
