Does Freddy Need a Small Buff?

I have plenty of arguments for this.

  1. People say Freddy shuts down loops. Yes, but only after walking through the loop once or twice. Then they just slam a pallet down and you have to hope they hit the pools. Not only this, they also have to be in the dream world. The pools are so small, survivors just run to another loop and do it all over again.
  2. Alot of other killers have some way of countering pallets. Spirit that trick people and zoom around, Sadako can instantly just teleport to somebody else to attack, Clown can gas them or speed himself up, Trapper just places a single trap, Artist can place a crow, Pinhead can chain them, the list goes on.
  3. Pools are too small. Any experienced survivor can just sidestep the pool if it hasn't been placed in a choke point. Or, somebody else who is afflicted with sleep can just run through them before hand.
  4. His powers are nigh useless unless somebody is asleep. With the timer, it helps a bit. But what other killer has to depend on some sort of status effect to get use out of their power? I suppose vomit lady, but it's more of a passive power that operates on it's own.The only thing Freddy can do is teleport, and his teleport takes a long time to manifest. So survivors are usually miles away by the time your done.
  5. The slowdown. Why? It was his one advantage, he wouldn't lose momentum in a chase and place his traps at the same time. Now that 5% is all it takes for someone to vault a window or pallet.
  6. Pallet power is easily countered. Once people figure it out, they just slam all pallets they see down. Some people have even figured out ways to know how a pallet is fake or real.
  7. Entirely dependent on perks. Because his power is so weak, perks have to make up for his lack of ability. You can combine some things to make pallets less annoying.
  8. Only 5 traps to lay down. That hag has 10 or so, and her traps are WAY better. So why can't Freddy have more?
  9. Doesn't slow down fast vaults/pallet jumps. This could probably make all the difference. But people can dash through them no problem, making putting a trap before any vault or pallet completely pointless.
  10. Sometimes the power just doesn't even work. Why? Idk. I just can't place it on the ground. There is a point in the video that you can see I attempt to lay down traps and simply cannot.

I wasn't trying to play smart. Freddy is a "moderate" difficulty to use killer. But to use him efficently, you have to have traps set up in advance, consider the map layout, kite survivors into specific choke points, hope your placements aren't denied for some reason, pray that the survivors are working alone, etc. Every other killer is so much easier to use. Even the Nurse.

Freddy is both less unique and less fun than release freddy. Stronger than release freddy, sure, but of all the "chase/stealth power and map teleport" killers he's my least favorite. His most unique feature is the fact that survivors can actively make themselves immune to his chase power, despite it being a worse afterpiece tonic.

    Wouldn't mind another rework tbh

He is definitely one of the weaker killers in the game. He needs another partial rework since he has like 2 good addons and a weak power.

    Remove his slowdown

there was no need to nerf him, old freddy needed to stay and pyramid also needs a QoL

He really needs his ability to see people asleep outside of terror radius again. It would be amazing to have that back. That's all he needs and he is a balanced once more

Freddy is supposed to be more oppressive for asleep survivors. At first he had an awesome tracking, then the rework took that from him yo make him more chase - oriented and to make him somehow have more mapa pressure, but his power to TP to gens is only used efficiently for mindgames. I think that the old Freddy should return, with a more punishing dream world with not only slowdown effects, but also effects similar to Doctor's madness with hallucinations, being even more lore-accurate. But also keep the boxes and the awakening mechanics we have now. This would make the dream world dreaded again and would make Freddy mid-high tier.

    Freddy needs another rework.

as for using traps, I recommend using them to extend the length of loops. Don't put them right at pallets, but in places where survivors will either need to go through and get hindered or avoid and get hit.
