Empathy nerf (a good thing, and more thematic)

Unlocks potential in your aura-reading ability. The auras of survivors in the injured state or in the dying state within 64/96/128 meters of your location are revealed to you. You heal other survivors 10 % slower.

----

Empathy is a strong information tool. It tells you who's in chase. Where. Who is out of chase and can be healed. It can keep this valuable information and afford a slight nerf to the altruism aspect. Plus, this change would make it synergize well with Autodidact, buying more time to get those desparately needed skill checks. Running Empathy with Empathic Connection would simply cancel each other out.

Thematically, someone with high empathy would take their time healing someone else's injury; they can relate to their pain and think taking it a little slower is beneficial. Meanwhile, Empathic Connection is fine as is with the increaed heal speed; the others are voluntarily coming to you and are willing to accept the extra pain just as long as you make it go away quicker.

    Fine. I tried.

Buff Autodidact's skill check frequency then.

thats much better than you suggesting nerfing a B tier perk + forcing it to be ran with another non-free perk to make it not a nerf. I agree with increasing skill check intensity

I just want more Autodidact skill checks. I need to heal others instead of leaving them to heal themselves.

I threw on Empathic Connection thinking that I will get more healing opportunities if injured survivors see me.

What ended up happening was having less time for skill checks to appear because of its 10% heal speed increase, and survivors just used the perk to kite the killer into me and dump the aggro on me instead.

I thought that Empathy having the opposite effect would help Autodidact, and thematically, it does make sense.

Why is this a nerf empathy post and not a buff autodidact post?

If anything, buff Empathy. It's currently a worse Bond.

    My condolences.

Can't be worse off than the buff babysitter/guardian crowd, Guardian's speed boost off the hook got made basekit, and while Guardian could still have increased its duration, said feature got stolen by BT.
