the game punishes for high skill, success without rewarding
You play well , you win games, you earn a lot of bloodpoints. You are satisfied and happy suddenly you start losing badly. do you lose your grips? Do you suck for some other reason? Do you need to take a few days break?
Imagine playing a game that constantly changes difficulty to hard/easy and you cant even know it.
Imagine playing chess and players know nothing of their opponents. You are not even sure if ladder exists you might susspect that. Imagine sometimes you face a some sort of champion and you dont even know that. He beats you so badly that It just blows your morale. You were thinking that you are average/good player and suddenly you cant do anything.
if you dont want to show exactly what is going on ok, but give at least some sort of slight notification to players. Remove it if it does not work.
some icon that appears sometimes and says "you have played well , perhaps you will face a stronger opponents next time".
nothing is explained about matchmaking. I see it now this way an average person (not 10k hours pro/streamer that can beat anyone) tries to play well, he wins. The game sends him stronger opponents each time, each time he has to apply more skill, sweat to win and eventually the game breakes him. He is simply not good enough to outplay 10k hours player. He knows nothing why he suddenly started losing and cant do much. Where is a reward here? Only stress and confusion.
So i think people must be slightly aware of some sort of skill brasket they are in.

Matchmaking gives up during hours with big role disparities, I just take each game as it comes.

While I agree we should see our rankings (even if we don't get to see our opponents), I would think it would be expected by anyone who has ever played a multiplayer game that the better you do, the higher rank you go and therefore tougher opponents.

Isn't this how most games work? If you consistently win, you get tougher opponents until you don't consistently win anymore?

What pisses me off to no end is that the opposite is not true.
I could lose 20 solo matches as survivor in a row, and still lose the next 30 after that. They don't get any easier.
In fact, they only get harder because I'm matched with players new to the game; new players struggle with survivor role and steamroll with killer role.

OP.
What?
You are not supposed to win 100% of the games. The game is not designed that way. Neither is real life lol. If you play long enough you will lose. Sometimes you will lose badly, to the point that you are not that competitive. It's experience, just learn from it. Why would the game inform you that you will face more difficult opponents?
All of the complaints about this game revolve around people not wanting to work for anything. Always looking for handouts. Just take your L and keep it moving.

Taking the game less seriously will result in you having a lot more fun while spending your time on DBD.

Switch out the killer or bring yourself to a map you enjoy to break up the streak. Switching to survivors can also be relaxing.
I used to swap roles each match and it helped.
PS: This game has no true win conditions. It is a mind game.

i do not say you are supposed to win, but i think it would be nice to have notification that you play in some sort of VERY HARD brasket. Its not that you are bad or unlucky but you have a very decent players against you. What is wrong with that? They say already that they have MMR in the game.
"why would game infortm you that you will face more difficult opponents?" because they say game have some kind of system (mmr etc). It is already impied. Would not it be nice to know that game started giving you some sort of 10k hours proplayers with 50 winsteak? You wont be so desperate after losing.
i mostly speak about killer`s expirience. i have no idea how survivior`s system is supposed to work and what system is based on.
well, fun comes usualy from balanced matches. If you are destroyed completly mostly you get frustration and anger.

"Destroyed" is a concept in your mind. Look at it as a hide and seek game instead of a murder simulator.

The day I started ignoring pips and just played the game normally I found myself way less stressed and enjoyed myself.

My biggest gripe with DBDs SBMM is that it punishes you for playing consistantly good. I usually let two survivors run, because I don't want to raise my MMR too much and end up sweating hard against the super bullies EVERY game. I still get enough of those, but that time when I gave every match my best the game would disolve into a sweaty mess were each and every game was a sweat fest of the highest order, feeling like the finals of the DBD championship, not "your 4th game Tuesday evening".
Overwatch, LoL, Dota, all this games have a ladder system, were you get matched with people in your skill bracket, but this brackets are much wider. You dont win 2 games and then face off against grand masters, but in DBD this can be the case. Also, all this games feature a non-ladder-mode were you can just casually play.
DBD wants to be a casual game, yet its matchmaking system is as strict and uncompromising as any hardcore PVP mulitplayer. I want to be able to finish a game with a 4K if I played well without knowing that I am shooting myself in the foot by doing so, as I will get punished with the sweatiest of sweats the rounds after.

🤔
OP, if you were to receive the notification that you speak of, what are the benefits? How would that information affect your gameplay?

1) morale boost because i earned it
2) expectation of a tough and interesting match versus decent enemies
3) less frustration in case of lose because i faced a decent enemies
btw would not it be great having button something like hardcore mode? Like if you turn on button hardcore more chances that hame sends you to SWF tryhards or sweaty killer. Sometimes you want a sweaty game , you wont be upset as people oftet upset because of SWF or nurse etc. I personaly not a single time complained about SWF. On the contrary for me is way more interesting facing them. Those are team, they play for win, you have to expect gens to pop fast etc.
This is kind of strange that people compalin about SWF but ingone fact that we have a strange mmr system. People might be upset because they play vs SWF 4 players just a bunch of friends chilling around, but ok if they have against them 5k hours solo pro loopers?
Also people compalined about NURSE/spirit while it mostly depends on skill, if they knew they faced 10k hourse killer they would not be crying that much about specific killer

Let's take the chess example.
If you have a rating of 1800 you can play someone who is 1900 and have a good game- you might even win. DBD match maker has no difference between 1900 and 5000.
As an 1800 rating player you would never even see a 3000 rank player but DBD says oh well and puts you together. Is that fair? It is *absolutely* not ok.
This happens because there are survivors who have a 500+ escape streak.
