The Counter to New OTR is tunneling?
With the nerf to Ds not activating at end game survs will try to use new OTR to get a guaranteed escape at end game but the way to counter that is to waste OTR in the early game since its a one time use so killers will be actively go after the unhooked rather then unhooker Thoughts?

If OTR becomes meta then killers will just respond by always hitting the recently unhooked to get rid of it, and since they're doing that anyway, they may as well just tunnel them.

Fortunately DS got nerfed, tunneling is hard enough, killers always have to deal with braindead loops and crutches

I was under the impression that OTR is not a one time use perk like DS.

Isn't the perk supposed to work every time you get unhooked ? no one said it's a one time perk.

So basically a weaker DS that can work in end game if you never hit anyone after they get unhooked? if it triggers only after you hit a survivor does that mean survivors will rush to do one of actions that will pause it = it won't trigger through the remaining 80 seconds which means it can be saved for the second hook ? it's pretty flexible I don't know what to think about it yet.

Yes it's going to make it broken if that's the case it's basically longer DS if you get unhooked and tunneled it will trigger once like old DS if you don't get tunneled then it gets saved for late game same as old DS it can grant you a free escape but even better since 80 seconds is a lot and killers might not catch up to you quickly so hitting you near the exit gates means a free escape anyway.
Like ######### they nerfed DS but reworked another perk to work exactly like old DS?

If OTR is a one time use perk, it is significantly worse than DS or BT.
That would make absolutely no sense whatsoever and quite frankly incentivise tunneling.
Hell, at least with DS you had the option of using it or not.
Through no choice of your own someone else gets to decide if the perk is used or not.
That is stupid to say the least.

Tunneling isn't too hard when you tunnel your first hook. A 3v1 in exchange for 2 to 3 gens is a massive swing for Killers.

Honestly, I'd rather have OTR work twice during the midgame than once during the endgame. I do not like that it can be used to guarantee a free escape.

So they fixed one of DS's issues, didn't fix the other one, and then reworked OTR to be in the exact same spot DS was before the patch, warts and all.
Except OTR is slightly worse for game health.
This has to be one of the dumbest things BHVR's ever done.
