Do you think all killers should be “S-Tier?”

Question to killer mains, survivor mains are welcomed to join in as well. This is completely opinionated for putting killers in tiers but do you guys think that all killers deserve to be S-Tier?

I notice that throughout my ranks I see certain killers more often while others a lot less. Around my rank 20s and 15s I used to see a lot of Trapper, Wraiths especially, sometimes Hag.

Around rank 10 or below I would see Myers, Hillbilly, or Spirit at most.

Around rank 5-8 I would see a mixture of “high tier” killers.

Actually as much as I don’t play killer I play Spirit in my higher ranks while I play Trapper or LF in my lower ranks when rank reset happens.

So do you guys feel as if every killer should be S-Tier? Devs mentioned that not all killers have to be the best like Nurse but they can be more “fun” to play (they made this example with Legion.)

As a survivor main I think that Billy is perfect example of balance (A tier). Strong killer that punishes survivors for making mistake, but still is m1 killer in pallets and window (not counting mindgames).

I think more killers would be bit more viable if the map design wasnt so bad.

I believe that Billy is the only balanced killer at the moment and every killer should be as powerful as him.

It would be more fun if there was a bigger variety of killers, especially in the high ranks.

    I don't see why not?
The devs said something along the lines of not every killer can be rank 1 viable, but the ones that are usually rank 1 viable, nurse, and Billy, can be played as from the get go. Rank 20 to 1.

    Not a killer main, though.

    Simple thing.
If the killer has more "skill" than the survivors.
Then the killer should win the game.

So yes every killer should be S lvl.
But not brainless S lvl like legion with Mixtape.

There should only be ~3 tiers.
Nurse-, viable-, and "still not finetuned yet"-tier.

Yes, I Think all Killers should be Viable at Rank 1.
The Game has to be Balanced in order to have Variety.
It's a shame that the game neglects most of the Killers, They are such a unique and fun aspect to the game but if you want to play well your choices go from 14 to about 4 Killers. I'm all for nerfing Nurse and Billy if it means the other Killers can have a chance at winning, It sucks that by Design your wedged into playing a small portion of the Killers in order to stand a chance. Seems a waste...

Crosses the map in 5 seconds, instadowns a survivor 10 seconds into the game before other survivors have even got to touch a gen

    Balanced.

I really miss that lol button.
Could you show me a video where Billy crosses a map in 5 seconds? Hell, i feel generous today! Lets double the time!

Any of the games I've had?

Are you really going to argue this? Obviously I was being generous with what I said but that in no way takes away the point that in under 10 seconds from the player getting control of their character he can be on too of a survivor and less than 10 seconds away from getting an instadown.

Not even Nurse can have someone down as early in the game as Billy can.

Or do you want to argue the 5 seconds and pretend it changes anything?

No, however I would prefer if each killer had their own rank. That way if I reach Legion with rank 1 I still can play clown at rank 10. Then rank reset will still happen for all killers. I made a post about this already 😪

I don't know why this isn't a thing, most killers play completely differently Like you can be a good Trapper but not a good wraith. It doesn't make sense having an overall killer rank.

Perks can help with weakness a killer may have, though I think they all should be made to be around A tier. Nothing too crazy, but strong enough to address the game. There shouldn't be killers people avoid playing 'cause they're weak and people should be able to choose killers based on the type of play style they like and not who can handle sweaty survivors best.

A tier system is usually (in proper balanced games) shifting all the times.
Only in DBD we stick to the same tier system for the entirety of the game because of the balance gaps.

If the question is whether all killers should be viable at high rank against SWF`, then my answer is yes

People want that, but why are they okay with Billy/Nurse that powered to begin with? The variety is nice, sure, but if every killer were that powerful, the survivors would stop playing. You complain about DS and SC and all that but people would have to play the worst ways possible in order to survive. Altruism would be dead. One hook = game exit and that's no fun for anyone.

No. I think trying to make as many of them at least semi-viable is a good thing to shoot for, but trying to make them all "the best of the best" is a fool's goal that would destroy balance. Not even talking about it in regards to this game specifically, but just game balance in general.

Nurse is the only S-tier killer and does need major nerfs. Billy just needs a few minor tweaks and he would be fine. Spirit, Hag, Myers, Huntress and Clown are the balanced killers. Everyone else is trash and needs major help.

But the devs don't balance around high ranks. So enjoy the ebony mori Nurse vs toxic SWF P3 Claudette squads games at high ranks people. It's all you'll get until the devs finally balance around voice chat and rework Nurse.

That just means that instasaw needs a nerf. If you do the math, you get a 16s headstart with his addonless cooldown (2,5s cooldown -> 2,5s*4m/s = 10m -> 10m/0,6m/s = 16,6s)
They have to balance his addons first, all the complains come from instabillys, which really takes no skill and brain. After that, they can look into QE, since it was never intended to control him like normal movement.
I really doubt theres gonna be much complaints after that.
But to give an idea: GIve him global directional sounds for his chainsaw. Gives bad loopers some map control to avoid billy and gives solo survivors the same advantages as swf.

He can´t fly. There are tons of obstacles on the map and simply doing a step aside saves you from getting chainsawed.

I suggested something that could almost fly, back in the Steam forum. This killer would be able to put down poles across the map and jump to them after charging for a while. He'd also be able to vault pallets. Sound like any killers you might've heard? :P

I proposed that Freddy should be able to vault pallets like survivors do. Since he has the same size and could use the buff.
Instead they created Freddy 2.0 who can vault...

If killers were to be buffed to all be S tier then I would be fine with it so long as survivors had more ways to rank up (or at least black pip) and earn BP that don't involve surviving the trial.

The chainsaw has a mile wide hitbox. You try to make Billy sound so easy to beat, yet he's widely known as a strong killer and the second best so something doesn't add up.

Not sure who is balanced. It varies. I would say an example of a strong but more balanced killer would be Spirit. She's strong but she can't instadown someone, cross the map in seconds and then instadown another survivor.

No. The S-tier killers are only S-tier if you are good with them.
Play against someone who is learning the nurse... If freddy is F-tier or E-tier I would say the bad nurse is H-tier or lower.
So they just reward you for your skill. No skill - no kill.

S-tier is not something to go off of when considering what a balanced state for killers should be, this is mostly because if you did that, there would be no tier-list or people would still make a tier-list anyways that gains popularity. Now, if we're talking about what killer should be the baseline strength to go off of? In my personal opinion Spirit demonstrates the perfect level every killer should be at or around while also having addons like the ones on Wraith which demonstrate what addons should be (addons that actually change how you can play).

The reason why I say this is that no killer should ever be totally brainless to play, all killers should feel like they require some form of learning curve with a great strength and some form of counterplay for good players to utilize and account for. Meaning, all killers should be great but only if you take the time to learn them.

Every killer should be viable in high ranks however there should be some killers with a high skill ceiling and some that is easily playable by everyone.

Nothing will compare to Nurse but every killers specialty should be a their power is like a set playstyle on steroids. Like there's zero reason for some killers to be so dependent on addons. Addons should offer alternative playstyles not be mandatory just to play them normally.

Playing a fun killer quickly fails that one aspect when they can no longer compete with a competent survivor. A lot of killers stop being used as the frequency of survivor mistake diminish and personal weakness are more frequently exploited. I don't think every killer needs to be top tier but they should be able to compete without addons and the need for survivor incompetence. If addons were solely for altering playstyle and not buffing the killer to be on par or better, we might see more diversity over all ranks.

I forget his name but there's a guy on YouTube that reviews all the different Warframes of the game of the same name and offers his thoughts towards the changes that particular model offers.

In those reviews he discusses his displeasure with the idea of a S rank. This is due to the fact that such a rank is overpowered as all hell and due to that fact is probably going to be nerfed soon. He further elaborates saying that an A ranking is a much better location stating that at A, the Warframes are powerful, but still have their seperate niches they fill without overpowering everything.

I feel killers should aim for the same sort of rating though what that would be to bring killers up to A and Nurse down to it I am unsure.

u know what makes nurse S tier? the fact that she ignores how survivors try to avoid the killer in a chase. dbd would be the most boring game at that point.

The only killer that's S tier is nurse and she is hard to use. By buffing killers to her level the game will become unbalanced and unfun for sure.

    Fun is subjective.
Legion was supposed to be fun.

IMO killers should aim to be just below Huntress. She is one of the most balanced killers in the game (excluding pink hatchets). Any killer worse than her needs to be buffed. Any killer better than her should maybe be nerfed but it's probably actually better to just leave them alone. The only killer that should even be considered for a nerf is Nurse, and that's still a big MAYBE.

S tier? No. I think every killer should be on Billy/Spirit's level though.

I think killers should appeal to playstyles, not tiers. You should have fun playing the game; and it’ll motivate you to play more.
