SBMMR is the worst MMR ever implemented
Is so much worse than the old system
Soloq always been unplayable but now more than ever,I keep getting matched with bronze rank survivors that have less than 100hours played.
It took so long to implement a system that is only based on kills and escapes just to get something worse, lol.

I have seen worse, to be honest.

How can it get worse?
2k hours in the game and I get matched with a full squad of survivors that have under 100,it cant get worse than that, survivor is unplayable if you dont swf.

Honestly, I feel the old system that used emblems was definitely inferior. Some of those medals require survivor cooperation. I would rather just have kills be what makes me climb or fall.

Since when do you play?
Ranked based MMR wasnt much baletter than this for the last 2 years. The majority of survivor all ended in red ranks and matchmaking became a coin toss.
Of course the chance to be paired with high skill survivor were higher but from a balance standpoint we are in a similar mess as back then.

Early 2020,at least I didn't get matched with survivor that have under 100 hours and are bronze while i'm at red ranks back then.
At least not as often.

I hope BHVR will remove SBMM and just improve the ''old'' ranking system. The game was so much more fun with the ranking system. I almost never see anyone that's happy with this system. It's slowely killing the game and has to go ASAP.

They say that are fixing the backfill issue soon so that should help.
Unless you are actually losing all your survivor matches of course.
2 -
Soon can mean anywhere from 3 months to 2 years.

Please be fair. I'm sure this will be done the patch after 60fps on console.

I don't get SBMM doomsayers because it's just not working due to lack of players.

Priorities, of course.

I don't know why they even call if skill based matchmaking.
3 -
When I'm playing killer i get matched against 1000+ hours survivors day and night, but when I'm playing survivor all i get are crouching players who doesn't know how to loop and dies in the first 10 seconds of chase.

Because MMR is based on skill, is it working for matchmaking is another problem.
0 -
But if I outrun the killer for 5 gens and die than it wasn't a skilled play according to Patrick.
7 -
Because it isn't, game's objective is to survive, not chase.
If you outrun killer for 5 gens but somehow can't outrun killers until you escape, it's not contributing anything to your survival, thus will not be considered a skill.

okayyyyy

lmao.
what a horrid take. if a killer wants YOU dead, they'll be able to do just that and there's little you or anyone else can do about it. it isn't 2016 anymore lol

Yes.
Hiding is superior option, as long as you can actually manage to do so.

I'm not gonna hide all match and escape with a few BPS, that's the most boring thing a survivor could do.
7 -
I mean, you have to choose your MMR or fun, at least in this game.
I don't see anything strange there... people who avoid tunneling/camping all the time is surely less "skilled" than people who do.

By soon you obviously meant in valve time™️ right?

To be fair it’s not just lack of players causing mismatches, even at peak hours mismatches happen. It’s not the MMR itself that’s inaccurate though, that’s probably fine. It’s the scenarios where for whatever reason the matchmaking algorithm ends up making matches between players with widely differing MMRs, such as backfilling after someone dodges a lobby or a swf with high and low rated friends. It’s those factors plus dealing with players who have outlier ratings like the thousands of hours veterans who may not have close matches available at a given moment which drive the issue. (And on the forum, the complaints get exacerbated by prolific players because they’re the ones most likely to have outlier ratings, who play at sometimes off hours, who are more likely to be in swfs with low rated friends and who are more inclined to meet other aggressive players who lobby dodge.)

Just revert the matchmaking to 2016. It worked then and it will now. Done and done.

"choose MMR or fun" tends to work just fine for killer (I can tell that for the "meme killers" where I usually only kill by accident I get at least 50% newbs / meme-survs - and the other half matchmaking is drunk or sth, I don't know. Either way; in 19/20 matches I can choose the fun option just fine).
But as a not-top-rank-survivor? No. - I managed to navigate myself into "MMR hell" over the past couple days solo q-ing and just trying to have some fun. I got gradually surrounded more and more by DC-people, as-good-as-afk people (crouch-walking across the map doing almost nothing), trolls (no matter how new or bad you are, it's not possible to miss every skillcheck) and every other first hook resulted in death because teamies were too afraid to get close to the hook if the killer wasn't literally on the other side of the map, I don't hold it against anyone to not be able to loop more than five seconds until a hit (10 secs total) it takes time and practice - but if everyone is on that level matches tend to be rather short (even if everyone goes stealth-mode. A killer will find a survivor eventually and just kill them one by one - at the exit gate the latest). ---- All the while I didn't notice much of a skill-difference on the killer's side.
I guess for the forseeable future it'll be swf exclusively cause there it's true: I can say f* MMR, I'll just have fun with my friends. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In the old system i could die and still rank up. Now if i repair 3 gens, make 5 saves, heal various people, lead the killer on a good chase, pallet stun him twice BUT i get caught and face camped. I depip.
Meanwhile that crouching douchbag that did nothing all game gets the hatch and ranks up. Who the #@/$ thought this was a better system?
1 -
Yeah, because we don't get paid to play-test for them.

The ratio lmao
