pallet vacuums
so as we all know this was taken out, but it still exists in one form. vacuuming back to drop the pallet. i knew a really good survivor who could do this. he would spin in the pallet or run past it and then stop so he got the prompt to drop the pallet and with right timing you can stop a swing as well. its very unfair because if you respect they get a free loop and if you see them run they can just stop mid run and drop it because after stopping you get the prompt to drop it from further away.
now i forgot all about this til i just had my first huntress game of the night. sanctum of wrath, 4 man swf on twitch with a really good comp player. i had my timing so wrong and this match is just sucking bad... chase this dude that is pretty good he noticed i ran through a pallet earlier instead of winding my hatchet so he dropped it... go to a rock loop and this time he runs in pallet i wind up he keeps running. now where this gets messed up, he would run and spin in the pallet so if i wind up and respect he runs and i literally swung and was finishing my swing while he is outside the pallet and even tho he should be too far away he perfectly timed it and it vaccums his model back to the pallet. if i run through and back up then its a 50 50 but he is too good for that. i promptly disconnected because in no way was that fair and it was a terrible first match.
have you guys experienced a top player do this? also this isnt to say top players are invincible because its only conventional fillers where this works because you have less room for mindgames to trick them and they are typically short enough to keep running after a fake out?
also dont come in here insulting me please, i genuinely wanna know how many others have seen people this good and whether they think its fair to be able to vacuum like this

When people refer to pallet vacuums as a problem, it's referring to the old style, where a survivor would press space at the entry to the pallet, and it would near instantly suck them to the other side. It made hitting them when they approached the pallet impossible, where now you get that hit under normal circumstances.
Currently, they can vacuum back to the pallet if they're close enough to sort of quick step back and get a stun, but you can still hit them if they try this or even body block them a times. It can be frustrating to go against, and a good skill to have when playing survivor, but I don't think I would call it unfair, and it doesn't come close to the bonkers level of vacuum it was in the past.

well its unfair that the timing when perfected negates hits. like i literally had my axe swinging down and they negated everything and werent in aniumation or anything. both of us had great ping. when you master it it is just unfair because it makes it to where youre 95 percent safe at filler loops. and even as a survivor i dont think any of that is fair.

they coudl've just dropped it as soon as they got there and the outcome would be the sane

For Sanctum of Wrath, are we going to talk about the broken vaulting spot? or... (I know it's prob. not the right thread, buuuuuuuuut)
0 -
but the thing about it is i can ready a hatchet. but the fact they know how to do that means they dont ever have to drop it unless they see me go through. its basically like a extreme counter attack position. you stay close enough to drop it then you can react to anything and get away scot free but only if you time it perfectly

No, not the main building. Literally a vaulting spot the killer cannot vault. go on Sanctum of Wrath try vaulting all spots. One should just shoot you back out.

wait seriously?1

yep. I play on switch and so many surv. have abused it on my Nemesis. I'll try and find a pic of the vaulting spot and post it here.
0 -
I can't find a picture. I could show you if you would like (it'd have to be in-game, if you have that time, but it's a broken vault location.)

yeah sure
add me my name is the same as on here

Can just abuse that spot the entire game

its the little wall on yamaoka you know the area thats all mossy and like a courtyard? its that tiny unsafe window
0 -
yep. I can't really do anything about it because basically no-one knows about the glitch, so.
0 -
It won't vault for Bubba, either. Haven't really used any of the others, so.

My code is up there along with my name. If you can get on right now, friend me and I'll show you where the nightmare spot is.

Ohh, the one that has a bush in the middle and spawns a pallet sometimes?
0 -
K, i'll let u know if i'm able to, thank u btw

Funnily enough, bad connection bypassed the old vacuum.
A player with a poor connection with the host, who was the killer back then, could still get hit even if the game recognized the vacuum and the pallet drop.
Just an interesting little fact, probably not well-known anymore.

yeah i wasnt around back then, but with the old servers and all i believe it. this new vacuum is almost as good tbh, its just super rare because most people dont go above and beyond to do these sort of tricks its mainly comp players XD. most people here probably think im just stupid or bad after reading this. ive only ever experienced the new vacuum 3 times so i wouldnt blame them
0 -
yes it is that area
0 -
Eh there's even times where they can do a tiny vacuum (or seem to) when they're running to the pallet instead of running past it. I've seen plenty of people go from the middle of the pallet to instantly dropping it. Not like to the middle and keep running, no I saw them legit teleport.
0 -
well that is normal, you get sucked to one side or the other

The pallet be like:

Teleporting back into the pallet drop animation absolutely still exists.

This tactic is just the best way to play against Huntress, Trickster, Nemesis, PyHead, ...
It will never be removed from the game.

Had this happen to me in a match where I killed ScottJund
I didn't get mad or anything but it was a quick 'Really?..' moment so its definitely a thing. I have the VOD from my perspective but I wish I had the VOD from his perspective too. The next day I replayed that stream and found my match, he was laughing with chat when it happened and said himself that he did the vacuum and should've been downed so that made me feel a lil better

Oh boy am I glad that the old pallet vacuum is gone.
