The Onryō buffs I would like to see
INTRODUCTION
I think The Onryō is universally agreed upon to be a weak Killer. Her base-kit is quite weak due to several reasons (stealth that isn't quite stealthy, long teleport cooldown, condemned being kinda useless), so I'm here to (hopefully) adress all of them!
DELUGE OF FEAR
Manifestation
- The Onryō no longer slows down when Manifesting.
This change should encourage The Onryō players to use her Manifestation power more during chases to confuse Survivors and give 'em a nice scare!
- Being a stealth Killer, The Onryō no longer has a lullaby while Demanifested.
Even tho The Onryō is a stealth Killer, she produces a sound that is quite audible from a distance and from the volume alone, making her stealth not really that stealthy (exactly like PTB Ghost Face). So I decided to remove it entirely.
- While Demanifested, The Onryō cannot start a chase with a Survivor.
The chase theme could reveal The Onryō to the Survivor prematurely, making her stealth obsolote, now she'll work like Cloaked Wraith, meaning you no longer have to look down while approaching a Survivor!
- Removed the cooldown after cancelling Demanifestation. (Was 1.25 seconds)
Have you ever wanted to Demanifest in a chase, or just pressed the button but then changed your mind? Well, that kinda sucks, because now you're locked from doing anything for 1.25 seconds, which feels awful, so I removed it entirely, because I don't understand why should there be any cooldown at all.
Projection
- The Onryō now keeps the Undetectable Status Effect for the duration of the Post-Projection speed boost.
- The Onryō no longer produces a loud staticy sound when teleporting to a TV.
These changes should make her TVs easier and more viable to use in a chase by giving Survivors no feedback other than that she disappeared from her place when she was chasing said Survivor. (Similary to The Dredge)
- When The Onryō Manifests through a TV, the cooldown has been reduced to 60 seconds. (From 100 seconds)
Teleporting to a TV disabled The Onryō's map pressence for quite some time, which felt not really that good from the Killer's side, so I decided to reduce to by 40 seconds, which should make her TVs more usable!
Condemned
- When a Survivor receives progress to Condemned by any means, they get revealed by the Killer's Instinct for 3 seconds.
This should make Manifesting through a TV less confusing. It also gives The Onryō some information about Survivors that have a Tape in their possession for quite some time.
- When a Survivor has a Tape, inserting it into the highlighted TV now takes 4 seconds.
- Inserting a Tape into the highlighted TV now removes 4 stacks of Condemned. (From 3 stacks)
Survivors can no longer insert a Tape right in your face to remove their Condemned! Since the cooldown for Projection has been drastically reduced, I think it would be fine to remove over a half of the Survivor's Condemned progress.
- A fully Condemned Survivor now suffers from the Exposed Status Effect.
No longer encouter too confident Survivors that are fully Condemned! Since now they'll go down instantly if you find them!
Survivor TV interaction
- Inserting a Tape into any active TV now turns it off for 90 seconds. (From 60 seconds)
- Inserting a Tape into a TV to turn it off that isn't highlighted now takes 1 seconds. (From 0.5 seconds)
Survivors now have a reason to turn your TVs off, not only to get rid of Condemned, but to actually stop you from using your map pressence power for quite a while, but by doing so they'll loose slightly more time.
CONCLUSION
So I think that's all, these changes aim to make The Onryō a bit more scarier to play against while also making most of her abilities more threatening to go against, what do you think, are these changes good? Let me know! I'm also not counting add-ons into these changes for now, but if people like them, I could try to change the add-ons aswell!

These changes are way overtuned. Some of you forget there are other players than just 4-man SWF teams.

good changes, a nice basekit buff that makes her a stealthy version of Dredge instead of just a worse version of Dredge.
also I think you meant no lullaby while Demanifested instead of Manifested

What's overtuned about this? Could you give an example?

Thank you, also you're right, will fix that!

These are some of the best suggestions that I've seen. I really hopes that this post is seen by a developer.

You've literally given her everything on the planet. Great in chase, great at map pressure, great at player pressure, what is left to counter her at this point?

Great in chase? What do you mean? She doesn't get a speed boost like Wraith for example, she has nothing in a chase other than her invisibility for a short while, which is only helpful in short loops.
She already has an add-on that makes her instantly recharge 4 of her TVs when she hits someone after manifesting, is that op as of now? Not really, so reducing the cooldown doesn't seem that overpowered at all.
What is player preasure? She cannot chase 4 people at once, she is an m1 Killer, she can only have a bit of map pressence.
The only think to do it seems is for you to get good, becuase if an m1 Killer makes you struggle, then I don't know what you think about someone like the Dredge, who's currently just Onryō but better at everything she does.

Thank you, I tried. :)

Sadly, since the Lullaby she has while demanifested is the original presence tune she has in the Ringu movie, I don't think they are doing off with it. I also think it's subtle enough to make her stealth viable, but perhaps, lowering her visibility may help this to an extent. She does need a cooldown for manifesting and demanifesting or we'd enter another issue like we did with Wraith that they may feel overwhelming in some instances... granted Onryo does not have the capacity of bodyblocking like Wraith does so we could have a ground to argue in regards of her needing something to compensate her chase viability.
I agree with two of the changes in her Projection, her Undetectable and the reduced cooldown, but the sound is used to give Survivors an audible cue that she has teleported. If anything, I'd say removing the "map size cue" would be good.
Condemned should not give Killer Instinct because then we'd have Onryos spamming Projection from one telly to another. The other three suggestions are solid. I've been an advocate of adding Exposed to fully condemned Survivors. I'd suggest Survivors gaining condemned passively through the match, either by being close to a telly or just close to the Onryo so Condemned raises a sense of "urgency", in its current state is very underwhelming.
I had never considering changing interactions with the tapes because well, with Onryo's condemned being so underwhelming I never really found a reason to change it because it genuinely doesn't add or remove anything from the match itself, but they could be interesting additions to the overview of these changes you suggest.

good changes. I just wonder what is the purpose of increasing the time to insert tape in TV is if the survivor is exposed during full Condemn status? The survivor will go down in a single hit making the whole insert tape during attack recovery redundant.
The post seems to suggest that condemn status effect is not rewarding enough but the real problem behind condemn status effect is more that condemn status effect build-up too slowly such that it rarely comes into play in regular matches. The change from 4->3 also makes it easier to remove condemn status effect therefore making the event even less likely than what it is currently. Just my personal opinion, the reward for being able to mori a survivor that is in dying state is already powerful such that it does not need further increase in strength through expose.

The only people who would ever have even the slightest issue with these changes are the absolute lowest mmr players possible, and that's not saying much considering these are also the people who think that trapper is op

Literally all you did was remove all her downsides.

I was skeptical at first cuz dbd forums but these all seem like nice QoL changes, I'd be down
