Any possible ways to make Devotion levels more fun or interesting?

So now that the bloodpoints, endgame screens, and Prestige systems are all about to undergo changes, this got me wondering, if the devs hypothetically wanted to make Devotion levels be more exciting than just a number on your character screen, what might they do? It seems kind of a shame to have this whole Devotion system just sitting by the wayside at the moment, other than that you earn shards once per level.

You know what I think would be awesome? Devotion levels unlocking new skins for items or hooks! Like charms, but far more noticeable!

Two ideas which can both come or one of them:

The BP-Cap is increased by 100k BP for each Level of Devotion. So the Cap will be 2 Million after the Patch, I have Devotion 35 or something like that. So my BP-Cap will be 5,5 Million BPs.

(Not sure if this is even good, because I feel 2 Million BP-Cap is already way better than 1 Million before).

    Second idea:

A specific Outfit for each Character is created. The Outfits look all the same, you can think of them like the Claudette/Deathslinger-Outfit from the Anniversary last year or two years ago.

Just create outfits with some Pattern like this for every Character. And for each Level of Devotion the player can pick one of the Outfits which will get added to the Inventory.

And there are so many Characters that even players with really high Devotion Level will probably not unlock all of them immediatly. (Currently 59 Characters)

I'd rather them tie more cosmetics to the prestige system. As that shows your devotion more towards a single character rather than just the entity/game as a whole. It would also create unique rewards to make prestiging more engaging.

However I would like to see slight increases for devotion. Maybe like a 1% increase to BP in addition to the increase in shards.

It would reward you more for playing more. It would add additional ways to reduce the grind more that players actually have more control over, without making additional BP to crazy to get as it would take a while to even get to 25% bonus. This would also be easily managed and could be tweaked as needed.

The other idea I had kinda worked with another previous ideas the community has had.

A ritual alter where you could sacrifice your unwanted addons and offerings to the entity for BP. Your devotion level could be used to determine how many offerings you can sacrifice per day, and how much you get as a reward for those offerings.

You could also make it to where its like a roulette thing. Where you offer up like 4 offerings or addons to get a random unique BP offering. And your devotion could increase your chances of getting better offerings.

There's a lot of things that could be done with devotion that could definitely be flushed out more. I don't think it's at the top of their list, but wouldn't be surprised to see something involving devotion in the distant future

No, then the people who go to work and have a real life would hardly be able to enjoy it.

When I posted about removing BP bonus from BBQ & WGLF, I suggested moving the bonus BP to devotion levels.

They could easily scale it to ensure it was rewarding, eg.

    Devotion 1: +25%

    2: +25%

    3: +20%

    4: +15%

    5: +15%

So at Dev 5 it would be like always having 4 stacks of BBQ/WGLF

After that they could just add +1% per devotion level so it doesn't get too powerful.

EDIT: Full disclosure, I'm at Dev 6 with ~1750 hrs played, but I'd be fine if newer players got back to 100% bonus BP faster.

Of course they would! They’d get to see other people’s items and hooks! Lol

Just kidding, but maybe such items would maintain their appearance if someone gives it to you…at least for that match.

Regardless, since it’s merely a cosmetic, it rewards playtime but does not provide advantages - therefore it does not harm people with fewer hours.
