Trickster's Mains, help me
I try play Trickster, but, i tried a lot of builds and , every build is difficult to control gens. What the best way to try control the match with Trickster? control gens? gens defense? end game build? what you use with him. New meta build probably is kick gens, so, Trickster dont so much time for spend with kicking gens around map, so. What works nice with him?

I mean he is ranged killer so many perks not really work with him well. That's why gen regress is generaly usefull. I seriously don't know well if you want to try win hard... What else than gen perks you put on him... Maybe some aura reading? But he is slow so.... Yea.

Playing Huntress works better with him.

Try:
Deadlock
No way out
Iron Maiden
Darkness Revealed
- Passive gen slowdown, End Game Slowdown, you reload faster and know where to find survivors.
Really solid

I tend to focus on giving survivors other objectives or passively defending gens. Trickster is great in the 1v1, so generating pressure from downs is also good. I do this by using:
- Plaything
- Deadlock
- BBQ/Floods of Rage/Darkness Revealed
- Iron Maiden
- Caged Heart Shoes & any add-on you like
Plaything generates a secondary objective for the survivor. Most don't think about using it due to Trickster having a lullaby; However, his lullaby is special because it is donut-shaped. This means that his TR begins around the time his lullaby ends. For example, an oblivious survivor will hear your lullaby and then hear it go away with no heartbeat or TR sound at all. They do not know if you went far away or are really close because they can no longer hear the lullaby. This has been advantageous for me getting close before survivors run away or they will sometimes run into me. Even if they cleanse it, this is okay because they were doing another objective.
Deadlock passively blocks a gen for you to slow down the game while you focus on chases.
The third perk I use for information and tracking survivors.
Iron Maiden is used to not waste time reloading so much (Darkness Revealed pairs well with it).
The Caged Heart Shoes add-on helps a lot during chases as you can keep your knives up and not lose much distance. This is great for loops as well. The second add-on I use is either Killing Part Cords to enhance the movement effect while holding knives and help in chases or loops more when used with Caged Heart Shoes, Melodious Murder to give an almost instant reload when paired with Iron Maiden, or Edge of Revival Album to be cheeky with hitting survivors you normally cannot hit at loops and it helps with survivors that get in your face to make you miss knives so that you hit near their feet for half damage anyway.

Thanks for your explanation... Pentimento instead Iron maiden, what do u think about it in that build?

I usually tend to use Pentimento on fast movement killers. Trickster is slower and will take a while to get to each totem to rekindle them when he could be focusing on chasing the next survivor and generating pressure through downs and hooks.
That being said, it very much could work since you could expect a lot of totems to be broken when paired with Plaything. And never underestimate a 30% slower gen repair while also creating another objective for survivors. Man I love Plaything and Pentimento.

great advice from both @Remediast and @geni
I find a lot of new trickster players struggle when to pull out their blades and when not to pull out their blades as the slow down can really mess you up. As for tactics, for me, it is really map-dependent. For example, if I am playing on "The game" I often let the bottom gens go and work on defending the top gen more as the downstairs area for the most part is really painful for trickster whereas if I am playing in backwater swamp I can be more aggressive and try to get them out of the buildings as they are perfect for the blades.

Why Plaything? You do know Trickster has a 'Lullaby' right? Survivors can still hear that if theyre Oblivious

I explained it in my comment. Trickster has a special type of lullaby that is donut-shaped. His lullaby ends around the time his TR begins. If they are oblivious and are near the Trickster, they will not hear the lullaby melody or the TR.
Sorry for the bad picture, but it works something like this. As you can see, there is no lullaby in the hole of where the TR begins. Meaning survivors that are oblivious near the Trickster cannot hear his lullaby melody or his TR.
Edit: I just realized I drew the lullaby wrong (it is donut-shaped, but it overlaps with the terror radius at certain points)

No it isnt, that used to be the case when he was first released but it was unintended and quickly changed (used to be 32m - 24m)
The Lullaby now begins at 40m and can no longer be heard when within 8m, al though the closer to the middle you are to it the louder it gets. So only people who are really paying attention will hear it

No, they have regular lullabies I believe.

Ah, I see. I must have missed that change. Wish they kept it as it made him unique and could have had some good mechanics going on with Plaything and such.

So, im bugged right now, about lullaby. How works Trickster's Lullaby anyway? Plaything can be useful for oblivious or just for a "second Objetive?"

It could still be a good secondary objective. It has surprisingly worked for me in the past from my experience. However, if you want another alternative, another good perk that works well on Trickster and that @geni mentioned is No Way Out, which can stall the end game enough for you to get more downs.

Trickster is one of the best Killers in the game at forcing hook states. Proxy camping is King. Gen blocking perks help him keep pressure while staying nearby.
