If DBD had a "Create a Chapter Contest" what would you create? What would you take Inspiration from?

Map is the model town from the movie.

I would probably take heavy inspiration from mahou shoujo of the end, As above so below, and Obscure(The Video Game)

The Killer would be something popped right out of someone's imagination, preferably a women with big puffy dresses warped features(upside down face and mosaic like skin)

The Survivor would be the Artist or Writer who imagined such unspeakable Horror (Maybe he/she has a power of projecting thoughts into real things and can't control it)

The Map would be a clash of catacombs and a museum like 2 maps where pushes together , painting lining cave walls and statues of skulls and horrors , Big open Gallery Room With a wall smashed down to reveal a cave.

I could imagine a courage themed map mabye and a onesie for Dwight as courage

Uh, then I would basically do a map that looks like a model trainset, similar to the one in Addams Family. Lot of intentionally model-looking stuff. Have some larger items that were placed on the table as well. Maybe a large coffee mug.

The monster would be an amalgamation of limbs that were stuck together, like someone took all the spare bits from model making and made some hideous creation out of it. It would be The Abomination.

The Survivor would be an old timey Train Conductor. Originally a model, but much like the Abomination, it was brought to life to serve as an eternal victim to the beast, though also one of the few that knew anything about how to deal with it.

I actually wrote an entire killer, powers, backstory (a genuine short story around 8000 words) perks, and commissioned artwork for a fan killer. I keep wanting to post it here but I keep chickening out. I had a whole doc on my PC but I'm on mobile so I'll just type the major points.

The Killer is "The Doppleganger" also known as Jacklyn Miller, she's a college professor that turned into a stalker following a terminal diagnosis. While stalking her first victim Isabelle, a former student, she starts to believe that becoming her victim and living their life better than they ever could will be the key to getting a do over on life and not having to die.

She's a stealth killer with the power of "Isolation." She is able to build her power by "observing" survivors. However the power recharges passively without having to observe anyone as well.

When she isolates someone that persons appearance becomes hers and the survivor will be unable to interact with or be seen by other survivors. They'll still be able to progress objectives. When in isolation the Dopplegangers terror radius is replaced by a lullaby of her voice that sounds like manic, sadistic and unhinged laughter that gets louder as she approaches. She won't have a terror radius or red stain but only for that isolated survivor.

Isolation will last 30 seconds.

As for other non isolated survivors. They'll see the Doppleganger as the survivor. No terror radius or red stain while she's put her weapon away. She'll be able to interact with generators, and perform acts of "altruism" like healing that gives ghost progress (looks like it's helping while she's interacting but it's actually doing nothing and will be revealed when she lets go. will reduce progress speed if it would be a team action)

When she pulls out her weapon she'll still have the survivors form but unlike the isolated survivor she'll have a red stain and terror radius to non isolated survivors when her weapon is out.

She'll be able to fast vault pallets while using her power at the cost of having her speed reduced from 4.6 to 4.2 for two seconds.

The map would be a blend of three locations that will blend into each other, the college, Jackie's home, and Isabelle's apartment. In a way where you turn the corner into the hall from a classroom and end up in a bedroom. You go through Jackie's kitchen to get into Isabelle's living room, things like that. It will have indoor and outdoor tiles, with some indoors having a second floor. (Maybe throw in the hospital she got her diagnosis at as well.)

Here's some pictures of her. First is immediately after her first kill, second is after she's tried to reintegrate in society with her new body (right before the entity took her.) Also I'll attach the story as well. It's pretty much a final draft minus a few sentences I want to do better, plus I removed the final scene from that upload for now. If anyone actually reads it (I know it's a long read, I mean to write a more tldr synopsis) and wants to read the ending (who doesn't love murdering an innocent cosplayer?) I'll be happy to wrap that up and post that too.

God yeah the artist I commissioned did honestly fantastic work. I've worked with her for years and she normally has a long wait list, but when I gave her first dibs on this commission she immediately jumped at this one. She loves horror and never gets commissioned for it. She was excited for this piece and it shows so well.

I agree, Jackie is adorable! I am in love with how the messed up eye turned out. She's also got all these deep wounds and gashes that are permanently on her body because Jackie has taken over a literal corpse after a very violent murder. She can't heal, but her new body isn't breaking down either. I don't know if you noticed, but Jackie's old body before she stole Isabelle's is left discarded in the background of that first picture. Also that picture is framed inside the victims apartment, so every little piece of visual information is a window into the life of the victim.

My thoughts were this killer would fall into B tier, great at destroying solo's, but suffers on SWF. I liked the idea of Isolation causing the entire survivors perception to change. Similarly to how Freddy has the dream world or Dredge has nightfall.

I love the concept of "you are alone and nobody is able to help you. Run." And making it feel as frantic, desperate and upsetting as possible. I want Isolation to feel like a horror cuisine, with the distorted audio cues, the ever approaching shrill shrieks of glee, and the panic that comes from running out of options against a person who wants to murder you while unable to call for help.

I'm sure that in a game mechanic sense not being notified could help (maybe an addon for that even?) But in the hypothetical situation that this killer could exist I would be thrilled to know that someone heard the laughter of Isolation fade in while the heart beat cut off, and they think to themselves "#########." As they know full well what's coming next.

Absolutely. A human that is chasing you with your own face. Wearing your clothes. Pretending to be you to your friends. Your friends that can't even see you on the ground bleeding out mere inches away from them while they happily work on a gen with your Doppleganger.
