Why they don't nurf flashlight?
Is it make any interaction besides make killers upset?
BTW, why do killers have an extra carrying part, which is totally beneficial for survivors? The flashbang, the flashlight, the plate, the perks. When can killers stun or blind survivors?

They'll never get rid of flashlights cause they're too much fun for survivors, but with the awesome nerfs to Dead Hard and Iron Will coming up, the amount of toxic flashlight players is going to decrease substantially IMO

I am Chad Lightborn user.
So I don't care if there is 0 flashlights or 500 of them.

I wish there was a killer power or perk with the ability to blind survivors. I mean I've been blinded as a survivor by other survivors before, so why not?
1 -
I mean, Clown kinda does that.

Basically if you look at how much having a flashlight increases survivors’ escape rates versus having a toolbox or medkit you would probably see flashlights aren’t actually that great. They’re “flashy”, and you can sometimes get a save with them, but it’s inconsistent and if you’re spending a lot of time following the killer hoping for a safe that’s time you didn’t spend doing generators or healing to full health, etc. So yeah, they can be annoying, but they’re not actually time efficient and don’t need a nerf.

They don't because the reality is that they are pretty weak. We tend to remember (or have seared into our brains) the coordinated flashlight bully squads we run into on rare occasion, and forget that the counterplay is actually easy, and the vast majority of flashlight users are awful at it, and most flashlight save attempts are pretty pitiful.
Plus, survs following chases around in the hope of the getting that save that they'll almost certainly botch is helping you out as a killer.
My personal favorites are the ones who just stand there pointing their flashlight at you in desperation as you're charging them. Lots of free hits and downs there.

All they need to do is put a small cool down on flashlights to stop macro users. Because even with Lightborn the strobe effect from macros is what is the major issue with them. I don't get sezures but I do get bad headaches if a macro flashlight is used to often against me.

Because they simply aren't a problem.

Pleased to meet you Chad Lightborn user.
I am Jonathan Lightborn user (no relation).
I hate being blinded at pallets and during pickups so much I will essentially play every game with only 3 perks because Lightborn is permanently equipped on every killer.

Nice. Me too.

Personally I don't think flashlights as a mechanic are really the issue. Things like being able to somehow blind from outside of the killer's visual FoV, having lockers at corners where survivors can easily flashlight stun while getting a survivor out of them, photosensitity/audio acuity/other accessibility issues they create, and unnecessary exploits that serve only to annoy like clicking macros are much bigger issues than anything else.
Survivors having a tool they can use to make saves that requires a portion of skill isn't bad in itself, but there are a lot of secondhand problems that arise with what they're currently capable of.

Flashlight are fine. Macro-clicking on another hand ...
On a joyful note : tonight every single clicker I've versed has been sacrificed. Happy thoughts before bed time.
5 -
Because they're fine and one of the few things that break up the monotony of playing Survivor. You can counter them by looking away or being aware of your surrounding and if all else fails, equip Lightborn.
1 -
On a related note, why do survs who are getting wrecked sometimes still click at you like they have the upper hand and want you chase them?
I get it if they are really good, confident, and running you ragged (which happens to me a fair bit), and much of the time they'll stop when/if they start losing.
But I'll often get them doing it when half their team is dead, they're on death hook and every chase with them has lasted like 10 seconds. Is it delusion? Commitment to the bit? Muscle memory they can't turn off?
1 -
Someone with a flashlight means they're following you around, which means they're not doing gen, which means that if you take the time to listen/turn/look/avoid them, and get a hook out of it/chase the person with the flashlight, you're actually severely punishing them and they will probably lose the match due to being too altruistic
I guess what I'm trying to say is it can be just as bad as it can be good, though it depends on other factors because the reality is if they are good at looping and you're not on the best of killers, they'll probably get all the gens done pretty easy with just 2 people.

They are living the dream of every shonen anime/mango boi who doesn't stand down and never gives up, no matter the odds. Well, until a weill placed hit bursts their dream like a bubble.

I'm afraid, outside of a few broken mechanics like locker animations, its not that hard to avoid flashlight saves.
There are also perks to counter it if you are struggling. I run lightborn a lot not because I need it but because it just easy to not have to worry about blinds, so when I don't have a 4th perk in mind I'll bung on lightborn or BBQ they are pretty standard go to perks.
The only thing that needs to be addressed for flashlights is rapid click macros, which have a host of other issues about them.
Some killers have mechanics that blind and disorientate survivors, clown and dredge. I wish there were more like that. But basically what you have as any killer is a big weapon so use it to wound them.

Ah, like Captain America defiantly strapping down the shield, except there's no other Avengers coming.

At the risk of being presumptuous and putting obvious hubris aside, I think obnoxiousness and ego play into it a little bit.
Often when I get that kind of play it comes correlated with some post game salt too. People get upset when they lose or sometimes over gameplay in general.
They can reclaim some of that sense of loss, bruised ego, by getting obnoxious and trying to annoy their opponent as much as they have annoyed themselves about it.
I say annoyed themselves because that's what people do they assume their opponent is out to ruin their fun, so they upset themselves over it then try to compensate and project by 'ruining' the opponent's fun by being obnoxious in game.
Otherwise they may just be trying to get the 'get chased for X' tasks done, they may realize its a loss and want to go for an all out big finish fleeing from the killer, chases can be more fun than hiding sometimes.
All assumptions of course.

using lightborn is like the opposite of GIGACHAD

Flashlights are weak and easily countable in most cases, and I'm not saying use lightborn. Not all situations, sometimes you're going to lose a hook because of one, thems the ropes :)
While they suck in the hands of a skilled bully SWF, they actually can be a huge time waster for survivors. Sometimes survivors throw the game and ignore objectives trying to be ready for a save. Sometimes I find flashlights just as annoying when I play survivor as I do killer seeing how my teammates throw a game for the sake of getting that "sick content' LOL.

This one doesn't understand, lads. Smh.
1 -
Flashlights are annoying but nothing more than that, double locker needs to be fixed but that's about it.
3 -
Having a killer be able to stun or blind at will would make them way too OP for survivors to go up against especially with all the speedy killers that can catch up to u and knock u down in mere seconds. That is why they don't have the ability to stun or blind at will.
0 -
Because flashlights aren't broken anymore. Sure a couple things can be fixed like locker grabs but for the most part they are fine.
0 -
Tbh, plenty powers works like blind/stun.
Like newest killer can cover them in darkness.
0 -
Sprint burst...
0 -
They need to add that you can't flaslight click hundred times in one sec as that yeah causes headache sometimes other than that they are fine if they try to macro blind just look up.
0 -
Yes but I'm talking about killers having the ability to stun or blind a survivor without perks on them that do that.
0 -
There is.....he's called Leon and his power is flashbangs.....
1 -
I really don't understand why they don't add an internal cooldown to flash light use.
There is no need for macro flash light apart from harassment.
2 -
Clearly u didn't read my comment at all before replying to it. I was referring to Killers not Survivors. Leon is not a killer in the game.
0 -
I usually take my flashlights, all decked out, into games and leave them in the first chest i find. Same with keys. So make sure to look in opened chests, folks!
0 -
Yes he is...you know how many times Leon killed me by using his dam flashbangs and blinding me and not the Killer.
1 -
Killers do have this option, it's called "Hooking the survivor" where you can have them stunned from anywhere between 0 and 120 seconds.
0 -
He's a survivor, just cause people who don't know how to use his flash bangs properly play in matches. It doesn't make him a killer.
0 -
Hooking someone is not the same as stunning them. When u are on a hook, u can still move and try to escape. If u were stunned on the hook. U wouldn't be able to do that. U would just be a body hanging there with no way of getting off without someone getting u off the hook.

Flashlights aren't even good they're for psychological damage
0 -
Only for 1st hook. 2nd hook is pretty much like a stun, except it can be ended when you are unhooked.
0 -
Besides maybe maps, flashlights are literally the weakest item a Survivor can bring
1 -
I think it's called Nightfall on Midwich 😀

S(C)hadowborn and Lightborn user here, 2 perk slots so I don't vomit and get headaches

2nd hook being like a stun I can agree with. Just not first one.
