Midwich keeps crashing my game and I am now suffering a 6 hour dc penalty for it

I just bought Haddie Kaur and was excited to try out residual manifest and I load into silent hill. I sigh because then my game proceeds to freeze and then I log back in with another 3 hours added to my dc penalty. I don't dc at all but apparently when the game freezes it counts as a "dc" I have no counter for this and I even reached out to Behavior and I got a generic automated email back. Can behavior just nuke this map for existence? or at least mitigate crash related dc's

I NEVER purposefully dc. Although I've been getting dc penalties when the game crashes. I sent in a request for assistance and gave them as much info as possible about my situation. The responses that I got only seemed to prove that nobody actually reads anything. Then they sent me a copy and paste list of things to do. Ya know, all the things that I already tried, such as resetting the modem and router and making NAT type open and all of that. Then they marked my issue as being resolved. So good luck. I feel your pain and frustration. Plus I see all of the posts on here asking for dc penalties to be increased, with no regard to situations such as the one you're experiencing.

That sounds awful, I wish there were a way you could put in a "blacklist" request for certain maps. Like each player can submit one map per match with a reduced chance of encountering them (idk, like 10-15% reduced chance that stacks for each person that chooses it). The other option for you would be to always use a map offering for something else and risk someone bringing Midwich triggering map roulette.

Yikes. Is it just Midwich that does this for you? This is a slapdash fix, but you could try using map offerings in all your games to more or less ensure you don't roll the map. Not that offerings are infinite, but, well, it's the only way to be sure.

It's interesting that it's counting as a DC, because it means the crash is happening after the map initializes and you've loaded into it. I wonder if there's some unique shader or weird map asset that's making your computer freak out.

In a case like this you should be able to appeal your DC penalty by contacting Support and informing them about this issue.

I can't guarantee that this will get rid of your timeout for you, but it would certainly be worth a try.

(You can contact Support here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us )

Also, you should make a bug report about this in the Bug Reports section of the forum.

If you see someone else already reporting this bug, please add possible additional information you might have in their comments and upvote it instead.

(You can reach the Bug Report Subforum here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs )

I hope this will be resolved for you soon!

If you are playing on Steam use the verify file integrity tool (Properties > Local files > Verify Integrity of files) you may have something wrong in your game and thats what crashes it, if the files are ok then it has to be something with your PC hardware, download the latest drivers for your graphic card and see if that helps.

If it only happens to you and its only in Midwich it has to be something on your end.

Like someone said try updating your graphics drivers to the latest release and see if it helps. If you play on Ultra quality, maybe try lowering to settings to see if that has any impact, and also try returning to stock if your overclocking your graphics card with something like MSI Afterburner.
