When should the hatch be given to a survivor?

As a killer main, I have wondered when should I consider giving the hatch to a survivor. I know that the Survivor's Imaginary Rulebook has something to say, but I would like to hear something from fellow players than thenrules made by a toxic bunch of ppl.

    Whenever you feel like it. There is no "should"

    I personally nearly always give hatch, unless the last remaining survivor was being especially dickish (usually towards other survivors, like if you sacrifice your teammates to get the hatch, I'm not giving it to you). It's MMR neutral, so it's not really a 'free win', it's just some extra BP.

    I'm not sure if I have an exact condition for doing it. I normally just do it when I feel like it. Although I would say I am more likely to give hatch to the last survivor if I believe they performed best on their team and wanna thank them for a good match and chases.

    I'd give it after a DC, or if I find the survivor cute, but don't feel pressured to give hatch. If you're not slugging for the 4k they have the opportunity to find it anyway.

    It's up to you. But my rulebook says that if someone DCs or suicides on first hook, I'm going to either let everyone go or give one of the survivors the hatch.

    Killers who try-hard after a beginning-game DC or beginning-game first-hook suicide are just crappy people in my book.

    I'll pretty much always give hatch to a survivor if it spawns right next to them / is between me and the hook I'm taking them to - but only after making a dramatic show of contemplating whether I'll kill them or not.


    Beyond that, it's pretty rare for me lately. I mostly want to just finish up the match and move on to the next, though maybe with the new patch my perspective might change a little bit back towards being a little more goofy & charitable.

    I give hatch when I feel like it. Maybe they brought me an item, played really well or their teammates were bad. Maybe I just have no challenges or dailies to do and feel like being nice. Sometimes though, I really want that 4K so no hatch for you, if I can help it. There’s really no rule.
