I wonder why BHVR abandoned "The Plan..."
If I recall correctly, the original plan was to buff Solo to SWF levels, and then buff killers afterwards.
Was the kill rate truly so low that this plan was abandoned, altogether?

Did they ever confirm that this was the plan? I always thought that it was what solo players wanted (I do too).
Just the action icons would have been a fantastic QoL change. With what they’ve done, especially the nerf to DS (Should have been buffed to proc after each unhook and deactivate after gens are completed) it seems like they don’t care about the tunneling that many survivors face. I’d go so far as to have it be basekit and give killers something like Ruin as basekit.

They mentioned they plan to implement solo q buffs in the future. But there was a never a statement that those buffs would come before killer buffs.
It was mostly the community acting like the devs had to buff soloq first before killer.

What they're implementing is notifications on survivor's icons to indicate what each survivor is doing, which is basically what happens in SWFs since everyone can just chat on mic. They're still working on it and I believe they said it will be released later this year.

They also seemed to backpedal on it pretty hard when questioned last.

Solo queue was nerfed before it was buffed. Only BHVR could pull that stunt off.

They haven't abandoned it, its just on the back burner, they said if they have extra time this year they will try and slip it into a patch. I expect we won't see it for quite some time, but it is coming. I would much rather they focus on some solutions to camping and tunneling, this patch was a good start but it needs more. One shot downs near hook needs to go.

yes they confirmed thats the ultimate goal and the only way to achieve the best balance for this game. Its also logical, everyone who is not biased and thinks about for a second will agree with it.

In an ideal world you would do some Killer buffs and some Solo Q buffs at the same time. But nope, "fk solo Q. Just play SWF if you want to have fun as survivor you stupid 4head" seems to stay the mentality of BHVR since the release of DbD pretty much

Its not abandoned, they have just other stuff to do.
I think we should make BHVR prioritize those Solo Q improvements faster than for example streamer mode and archive rework.

They actually made tunneling super strong as killer I got looped long time when I tried to tunnel but now it's so easy. Well before I usually tried to tunnel very good loopers and had to eat ds ans bt and teammates taking protection hits. But now ds is not threat so it's very easy. Before when you was tunneled you could gave your team enough time to do all gens but now it's not possible anymore.

Probably a combination of a lack of ideas to bring Solos up to SWF levels that actually solved SoloQ issues - which we all know isn't just an information disparity. It's a motivation disparity.

I never said they committed to it. But i swear they mentioned it in their anniversary video. Could be wrong. But I was just explaining what those buffs were because they're not really buffs. Just HUD icons to tell other survivors what everyone is doing, which is already a thing with SWFs because they have mics and can just talk to each other, giving them an advantage.

communication is broken when swf have it, so the solution is to give solos the broken thing too? You already have almost as much info as swfs if you use 2 information perks like kindred/empathy/bond/alert/spine chill/etc. People just refuse to use them because they keep saying the meta is mandatory and nobody ever wins or does well without it.

I'm not even sure how to respond to your first statement, mostly because I don't play SWF. i'm also not here to debate whether it's a good idea or not. Mostly because I don't know since it's not even been implemented. I use information perks and do just fine, so I agree with this statement.

We cant make them do it. We are complaing about it since years and they havent done a single thing for solo Q yet. What makes you believe they will do it now

i'm guessing it went the same way that the early game collapse did, meaning they couldn't figure out how to implement it properly and decided ignoring it was the best option.
bhvr seems far more interested in encouraging people to play swf and introduce their friends to the game than make solo queue not miserable.

Well, if that's their grand scheme it isn't working. More survivors are opting to just quit at this point - as their friends have long ago.

I stop playing Solo Q already. I either have a 4 men going to even attempt Survivor now (tho none of my friends are currently interested playing survivor role with this patch) or I play Killer. But killer is so pisseasy and boring right now, I dont think I will be entertainted for much longer. I hope Elden Ring gets on sale soon so I can finally play that and let DbD rest for some months if not years

The community making stuff up to suit their own fanciful narrative doesn't really constitute in BHVR "not sticking to the plan".
Especially when "the plan" relates to a half remembered soundbite of a throw away comment during a dev stream.

It´s intended. there are two "Experiences" the "SoloQ" experience and the "Survive With Voice Comms" experience.
You can choose one or the other at will - as Survivor - as Killer you don´t get to choose.
People complaining about Solo Queue are just selecting the wrong Experience. if you don´t like that one there is no point in keep playing that Experience. Pick the SWF+Voice Comms Experience. Different levels of difficulty.
I think devs did a pretty good job so far separating these Experiences for Survivors, my issue is with the fact that Killers cannot adjust accordingly nor select their Experience.

I can't imagine why they would release this patch before buffing solo queue survivors, since when they do, they'll need to do another big balance pass all over again. Essentially everything they added in this 6.1 update will become obsolete.
