Using Keyboard VS Controller

I've been wondering for a while whether it's better to use a controller instead of a keyboard in this game. Reason why is because it often seems like when I press a key it's just not registering. I have to spam the assigned keys for w/e action it is, for it to work. I have a keyboard that is super fast, you have to half-press any key and it already registers. I don't have this issue in FPS games or on anything else really.
Does anyone have experience with both controller/keyboard and can you pls tell me which works better?

Survivor side, personally I think controller is better.
For killer, I'd say Keyboard+mouse is better, you have more control and can adjust your DPI to flick and stuff.

For survivor its preferance, I would keep controller but for killer MnK is way better

Keyboard is better. Buttons not registering on point is something also happening on controller, and I would argue it’s worse there.
killer have a big disadvantage on controllers. aiming, flicking and even just controlling your redlight for mind games is way more precise on keyboard/mouse.
survivor it’s not that great of a difference, but i would still argue looping and turning is possibly faster on keyboard/mouse as you will be able to run around assets and change directions faster and M&K.
it would be great if advanced controller settings such as deadzones, response curve and different sensitivities for aiming would be a thing in DbD.

M&K for killer. Controller for surv, but on PC.

Ah thank you for explaining! Was really surprised to see so many say that M&K would work better as killer and controller for survivor.
I really wish the key registrations were on-time...

Survivor on controller in easier without a doubt.
SOME killers are way better on controller for me too, like the speedy bois like Billy or Oni, it's way easier to navigate them.
But if you want precise plays on Huntress/Slinger/Tricky, mouse is a way to go

Mouse and keyboard is definitely better on killer
It's more or less preference on survivor until you're dodging projectiles or playing against Nurse, then the snappier movement of mouse and keyboard will help.

Controller is easier for killer. As survivor, I have difficulty 360ing and sometimes just sloppy movement when in chase. But I never tried playing with a keyboard.

As others said, K&M is MUCH better for killer. Survivor is more of a preference although you still have a small advantage with K&M. Some advantages include:
- Better binds (I think default binds for controllers have healing and pulling down a pallet as the same bind)
- Better accuracy with flashlights
- Probably debatable but I feel like you'd have an easier time quickly snapping back and forward to look around you in a chase
- And I guess if you really want to, moonwalking is much easier on K&M than with controller...
That being said controller lets you walk even slower/in slow motion which is kinda funky at the exit gates 😎 (I'll sometimes have my controller plugged in on the side just to perform these tricks!)

Ranged killers who choose to use controller over mouse and keyboard scare me
