Survivor has gone from worse to worst
BHVR actually did it. A perk in a horror game that is supposed to be used to dodge a hit was actually nerfed into uselessness. A perk that required immense skill in situations that required precise timing against many things that could cause it not to work (ie. server lag, killer connections). It is not fun to use now.
90 seconds to repair gens is not something survivors need or want to do. It is not fun to sit 90 seconds. Constantly nerfing survivors because of bad killers is causing the survivor role to be very unattractive and I opened the game today to play one game and clicked quit. 100% bonus points to lose against an overpowered killer is not enough incentive to play as survivor.
3 second stun against a Nurse, Huntress, or Blight is basically nothing. Any person disagreeing including BHVR needs to play survivor against one of these killers only one time to know. Decisive Strike and all of its silly deactivation conditions might be fun for killers but you feel very cheated as survivor and it is not fun. A 1-time use perk shouldn't be that weak. There is hardly any tools for survivors to use their skill and improve upon. Escaping is impossible against a killer that knows what to do.
Excellent killers do not have any issues winning an overwhelming majority of their matches. Balancing around very bad killers is not good for DBD.

Sluzzys back yay

Weird - My games have been way breezier without all the stall/regression perks getting in my way.
Of course, I could be wrong, but we'll see how the meta shakes out ;3
7 -
Without the stall/regression perks? Because that's pretty much everything the killers I'm facing are still running.
15 -
Couldn't have said it better myself. I was in a game earlier against demo and i dropped a pallet on him, got the stun, the pallet put me on the wrong side with him and he was able to down me before I could jump back over the pallet. The devs are a joke and cater to the worst of the worse killer players. Its sad that they keep destroying any hope for survivors that solo queue.
12 -
It's not like this mean anything tho, give it few weeks.
Right now it's just more interesting to play killers, because they got more changes, which are interesting to test and new builds.
It's just way easier to fill the queue with killers, you know 4v1...
1 -
You know, with this patch i'm actually gonna go ahead and say:
Sluzzy is spitting facts this time.
15 -
I´m curious. Whats that screenshot supposed to mean? It doesn´t seem to have any correlation with what you wrote. Since queues don´t seem to be tied to the bonus points right now.
2 -
Many killers still complain and call DBD survivor-sided, in spite of killrate being over 55-65% for the last 4 years and DEVs continue spoon-feeding those complainers. They are ruining this game.
Just create a game mode for those killers who still complain, where they click play button and win instantly with 4k and let all others play in a normal que, with killers that don't just want easy wins and where the killrate is about 50%. Problem solved.
16 -
Means that killers don't need to have a boost in incentive to play right now.
Sadly, incentives only ruined queue times and matchmaking even more.
6 -
Actually, not quite.
- Sluzzy is praising old DH which... I don't need to elaborate on further.
- The BP incentives are potentially bugged, IME Survivor queue times are long while Killer queue times are particularly fast and another person has posted a topic saying something similar. Sluzzy's image is actually useless as evidence since it's not displaying bonuses correctly.
6 -
Change perk
0 -
What perks are you struggling against?
0 -
I believe Sluzzy is trying to say, with this image, is that everyone is playing Killer while Survivor is dead.
Except, I believe the incentives are currently bugged because IME Killer queue times are 10 seconds while Survivor queue times are longer. Killers should be receiving that bonus, not Survivors.
2 -
BP bonus reveals shortage on survivors and basically debunked whole killer agenda about "lack of killers". I wait compensation patch for survivors. Killer power fantasy has gone too far. That's not right
8 -
And yet, there is still no shortage of survivor. Strange, that.
5 -
"A perk that required immense skill in situations that required precise timing against many things that could cause it not to work" nah you are trolling, i'm not falling for this xD
4 -
All the top survivor perks got nerfed into uselessness and the most stupid broken perk (noed) gets a small nerf. Makes sense. Also playing against legion with thano... real fun.
9 -
Sluzzy never left us, Sluzzy is the will of the Solos made manifest, battling against unsurmountable odds in the war against the hordes of Killer mains who in their folly refused to git gud and instead choose the path of tears making a deal with the archdevil of nerfs.
8 -
Na I hardly agree with anything he said just nice to see the jesters back
2 -
Dead hard took skill? Hahaha!
7 -
First of all, Dead Hard did not need any skill at all, now It needs your mind to work, as you now need to time It right. I have played against some survivors today and they timed DH well, something that gave them time to flee. Pre-update DH was basically a third health state with a little sprintburst, and anyone who knew how to press E could use it amazingly well.
Secondly, 90 seconds for repairing a generator allows killers to add a little bit more pressure. Before the update, gens would pop in less than 60 secs oftenly, as two or more survs would repair toghether or, if you were unlucky, all 4 survs would be on the same gen and It would pop before you could even orientate yourself in the map. If you do not want to stand 90 secs repairing, find yourself a mate to repair with and that's all.
Finally, Huntress, Blight and Nurse are not omnipotent. A nurse can be countered by running towards her, for example, or using the lightburn mechanic if you are lucky enough. Blight can get lost, and if it looses visual contact with you, and you can get to hide from him. Huntress is slow and charging and shooting hatchets can delay her. A good survivor knows each killer's flaws perfectly, and used them to gain advantages. I do not like to use this expresión, but "git gud" applies here. DS was exploited by toxic survivors to teabag Killers at exit gates and lure the killer into picking them. Now, this meassure encourages you to get out of the map instead of teabagging and mocking the killer, as well as giving killers a chance to get a kill. Also, take in count that NOED is now easier to counter.
It is a pity that you start judging this update without barely trying it and giving it a chance, but I guess that you chose to complain and I respect that.

I'm currently playing at 10pm in Europe. My Survivor Q time is extremely long while getting killer lobbies instantly. Still, BHVR gives me 100% BP for playing Survivor 😂 That's why I don't know what Sluzzy wants to say with it. Sluzzy's actions are unfathomable.
3 -
Aside from the very beginning paragraph, Sluzzy is actually making sense now.
9 -
Yeah all my games have been horrible the killer just wrecks everyone
5 -
DH was the biggest crutch perk of all time in DBD and therefore needed a nerf. And no, it didnt take much 'skill'. I mean I played it myself but I'm glad to see it nerfed because I play both sides equally. I agree with you on DS. Should have stayed 5 seconds. I wasn't happy with the 90 second gen time, but to be fair I don't really notice it. The problem is still bad survivors in the Solo Q who have a gen aversion.
2 -
dead hard took no skill.
2 -
DH and IW for some were substitutes for playing survivor well on a fundemental level me thinks
DH let you greed loops, ignore mistakes and I-frame through any killer power not to mention using it for distance
IW could win you chases based on the killer being robbed of information and having to guess
That's why for the past few months, I stopped using them completely because I was sick of seeing them and I had a feeling they were gonna be changed and here we are
2 -
But it looks like the bonus is bugged and completely reversed.
If survivor was unplayable, then wouldn't survivors have the short queues?
If the double bloodpoints aren't enough to incentivize people playing that "miserable" role, then why do survivors have long queues?
2 -
Yes! Everything is reversed. It makes no sense.
Honestly I think it's to early to judge how the balancing is. It will probably take a few weeks until everything settles.
1 -
That's bugged.
If you put queue for survivors you have to wait at least two minutes and considering the bonus it should be almost instant.
3 -
My survivor queues were always short, now they aren't because of the incentives.
Even in crossplay off at night they're short.
It isnt enough for me who basically has everything maxed out.
1 -
I think it's a bug. Now when they fix it and killers get the bonus to alleviate survivor queues, how are people going to react? When all the survivors that threatened to quit, because of the DH nerf, see that killer is the underplayed role.
3 -
I don't think all players jumped to survivor. Just because of that bonus bloodpoint sign.
It would have changed in between. Causing long killer queues. But it stayed like this for hours and still seems to display it.
I'll check tomorrow morning if it changes.
0 -
Yeah, I'm afraid you're right :/
1 -
It's funny to see how some killer mains gang up and try to personally attack Sluzzy every time, just because they don't agree with his/her opinion. These are probably the same whiny killers who complain about everything in this forum, especially about survivors being "toxic" in post-game chat. That's pathetic.
6 -
Yes. It has always been exaggerated and a fallacy that there is a shortage of killers. After years of non-stop killer buffs and survivor nerfs, it needs to reverse. Survivors need actually fun and better perks. Playing survivor has become unwinnable, especially as solo.
5 -
The server should know how many are queuing. The matchmaking might be bugged but there is definitely a shortage of survivors as we know from the bonus award.
3 -
That´s nonsensical. I have instant Killer queues, yet they suggest me to play Survivor.
3 second stun against a Nurse, Huntress, or Blight is basically nothing.
So we want having to hit Survivors
(2+1)x4 = 12 times for each hook, so for three hooks each: a total of 36 hits to Survivors to 4K, minimum. Add healing, Deliverance, rescues, dh, bt, etc.
Yet, op is moaning because your crutch perk instead of 5s stuns for 3s only. Ok.
0 -
Or... and hear me out: it's the bonus that's bugged.
2 -
The bonus even got kill switched now, so it definitely was bugged. The mental gymnastics sluzzy is doing to push through their agenda is really astonishing.
3 -
I am mostly a killer main, started the game playing as killer, but for the past months I have played countless more survivor matches and have gotten "decent" at it, but still not good, I am facing killers that are not "babies" but by no means are good either and generally the kill distribution was averaging 2k. From my experience the game is 100% killer sided at lower up to almost mid skill levels, with baby killers having an "overwhelming advantage" vs baby survs, survivor requires you to not ######### around and use every precious half a second you got, you ######### up you get hit.
Now, when the survivors become "good", the killers are starting to slowly lose their "advantage". They become locked in full meta perks, they need to play perfectly for a chance at hits and so on, survivors won't make "mistakes" that easily, and even when they do... DH, DS, etc... . An argument would be that some youtubers are still getting huge winstreaks(like otz's most recent all perk winstreak with killers), but keep in mind Otz is not your average killer, his "job" is this game so saying killer is fine bcs he performs well is stupid same goes for other cracked killer mains out there on yt.
Personally as someone who has been and will be mostly playing survivor from now on(bcs im bored of playing alone) I am very satisfied with these changes overall, and while not perfect they are 100% going in the right direction, maybe survs will actually learn the game and not rely on ######### DH every single game, whoever cries about a perk that saw more than 50% playrate, out of 107 perks, and thinks it was "balanced" needs a reality check.
0 -
No one's crying about DH. In fact, most of the people complaining about the game didn't use DH before the patch anyway-
1 -
Lol, u literally troll here

Maybe read the first post?

I agree that survivor has gotten significantly worse since the update, especially for Solo Survivors. DH needed the change, though.
1 -
Buddy, I respect your essay, but I'm sorry: Sluzzy is a known troll in this forum. Everything he says you should understand the opposite. You just wasted your time.
1 -
Are you confusing me with Sluzzy? Because I don't do that.
1 -
there is a shortage hence the incentive for playing survivor.
0 -
Yeah when I play survivor I always get the most sweaty of the sweatiest killers that wants that 4k nomatter what but when I play killer I am getting trokeed to hell. Anyway I totally agree with what you said .good old dbd was way more scary and better .literally everything changed with this update. At least we have some new tiles on the Macmillan maps
1 -
Why are survivors expected to play perfectly but you say killers shouldn't be expected to play as well as Otz?
That is double-standards.
