You know what's really funny
The amount of Killers trash talking people that used DS. Not DH. Because DH was understandable. But DS? You're trash talking people using a perk designed and intended for anti tunneling, that worked well for them. And you're happy that it's gone so you can tunnel efficiently without fear of losing out on said tunnel kill. It's honestly sad. All from people who can't pressure the map and camp too no doubt. And when you point it out, they say you're "Crying". It's mind boggling how that works.

Are you really surprised?
Killers said they only camped and tunneled because gens were going by too fast, now that gens are slower they're still tunneling and camping and now with almost no penalty to it.

I seen both sides complained about everything in this game.

DS ain’t gone. It’s still a decent perk.

Which is laughable. Because i had a game just the other day where a Bubba was proxy camping Shack basement for a hook. Wouldn't commit to a chase. I said screw it (i'm a solo player and i'm not stupid) I went and started doing Gens. Did 4 on my own while my team continued to just swap out who was going down and what not. Ended up getting hatch while he was chasing me. He was literally upset and said I was selfish for doing gens while they were going for unhooks and that I gen rushed him....
Yes. But DS was the issue. lmfao

The time change to it along with the recovery from the killer plus other changes makes it nigh impossible to be used. Watched somebody playing with it and every time the killer caught up within what felt like a blink and just downed again.

You have to be smart and lure the killer to a good spot for you, not a dead zone. It’s not braindead perk anymore, I give you that.
2 -
Nope it ain’t. Maybe vs trapper sure but against everyone else with a long range attack it’s basically useless

It was a bad perk already, aside from the EGC usage. Now that has been removed, and it got an additional nerf on top to ensure you really don't want to ever pick it up. It now not only requires extensive cooperation from the killer to function, but when it does function, it's way, way worse than it used to be.

DS being 5 seconds was fine. 3 seconds is not nearly enough to get you to a good spot.

How to counter tunnel : Make a passive for every survivor.
If the said killer is near the hooked survivor, the hooked time STOPS. ( so ppl can just press M1 )
If the said killer tunnels the hooked dude ( the game knows when someone is being chased ) every survivor gains a 100% gen speed and the tunneled guy gets a haste boost as long as he gets tunneled. Done. No more piece of ######### camper/tunneler and no rewards from doing so.
I like the new update. No more Noob Hard. But dear Jesus, it's easier to tunnel now and it's getting boring to see a dude getting unhooked and get down when other survivors gets the " safe unhook " bonus.
Wake up.

As a killer i find the decicive change to be terrible to be honest.
I like that i'm not locked into place for 5 seconds but the survivors don't make any distance at all whatsoever.
I'd say keep the 3 second stun but give the survivor a speed boost for a bit so they can actually get away.
11 -
Sadly the first idea was tested and was scrapped because survivors abused the heck out of it.
Also I can see the second one being abused by survivors as well only because the game wouldn't be able to tell when the Killer is chasing one survivor or tunneling another one....

The sad part is they wanted to revert DS to where it was before the endurance bug when they had to increase it while they fixed it. Unfortunately they forgot to factor in the animation again for the drop to give the full three seconds l....tbh I think 4 secs plus a small boost would of been a happy medium for DS.

Where did that statement came from? endgame chat or this forum? cuz I've never thought DS was OP even.
0 -
I forget I get stunned as a killer when it in played. That 3 sec doesn't help that much unless your teammates is around you. They should have kept it the same but shut it down at end game.
1 -
Get downed in a good spot then. It just requires a bit more of strategy now, that was his point.

Where do they find you guys? Pre-nerf DS was a bad perk?
2 -
It's anti-tunnel and more. Now, it just isn't a free escape in endgame. You can still abuse it in a match with Off The Record and exhaustion perks and all of that to basically run at the killer and say, "Come get me" and they'll be punished for downing you within 60 seconds, even after they've hooked someone else.

The killer has to actively play into it -really hard-. It is, far and away, the single most counterplayable perk. It takes zero effort to shut down.

Couldn't they use invisible ID tags sorta like Sea of Thieves does. SOT has a system where when a group collects treasure, that treasure recieves an invisible ID tag. When that treasure is stolen from other players the previous invisible ID tag is replaced with a new one marking it as stolen which means it's worth more when sold to the reaper hideout.
DBD could do something similar, the unhooked person recieves an invisible tag, so when the killer gets into chase with that survivor right after being unhooked that invisible tag would change once the survivor is in chase again. So it can't be abused when the survivor looses chase with the killer, or just isn't in chase, they recieve a different tag that would indicate this.
The main invisible tag would be a passive tag signifying the survivor is not in chase and are in "roaming" state. And for the hook thing, if the killer gets into a chase with a survivor near the hook, the hook timer continues to count down.
Obviously the invisible ID tag system would be difficult to implement, but it could work if done correctly.

Yeah as a killer main even I think the 3 seconds is too short. I didn’t really care about DS all that much before the patch and now I just totally ignore it all together, they barely get any distance at all. I think they need to up it to 3.5 or 4 seconds at least.

ALL Killers are one Entity of course!

Those types of players say the same thing about most other perks as well. When what it really comes down to is that it is easier for them to blame others for their own shortcomings and mistakes. They're doing it now with OTR, because that as well is an anti-tunneling perk 💀
0 -
Wait wait wait. So what you're telling people is, that you can "Abuse" a perk that is intended for anti tunneling, which would also imply said killer is trying to tunnel. Wild
2 -
The problem is still apparent. Even off the hook, killers are still whacking people right away which, yes, activates the purpose of OTR. But when they come back straight to the hook majority of the time or proxy it, it defeats the purpose of no scratch and grunts when you're either getting hit immediately or being chased for 5 seconds because they think you might just have base BT. Regardless, with the killer chages to lowered attack recovery and decrease in time it takes to get into bloodlust, anti tunnel ######### is still just as pointless as it was

Mhm, I agree. Here's to hoping it gets changed.

I love this "killers said" you know how many people who play this game? This update was recently there is no way you can make these assumptions already. It might be survivors now angry about the game being more balanced who camps and tunnels in protest.
0 -
It’s funny how you have a problem with me generalising killers and you do the same about survivors literally in the same post.
1 -
Yes, because killers don’t abuse camp and tunnel
0 -
I said it might be because in no way have you played against all the killers you faced before. You should stop with the "killers/survivors said this.." thing because there is only individual players here and they all don't play in the same way.
0 -
Unfortunately the Devs have said camping and tunneling are valid strats in certain situations and they have to be careful how they deal with each one because if they do something to punish the face campers at 5 gens or the toxic tunnelers then they will punish the players that are doing them both in the proper situations.
1 -
Yeah, DS is laughable now. It definitely needs some love, regardless of it's usage rates.
Check out my attempt to bring it up to speed.

You know what I meant.

I mean, Bubba is the best camper in the game, why not play to his strengths

DS isn't gone. It's every bit as annoying as it ever was, and survivors are still jumping in lockers and forcing me to either eat it or let them go. Two second nerf is nothing; the only thing you can't do with it that you used to be able to do was abuse it for free escapes during the endgame.
I don't think there's been a single kill that I got that I wouldn't have gotten because of the two second DS nerf. It makes no difference at all. And if you're just mad about the fact that you can't abuse it to make hooks impossible once all the gens are done, you don't have any place complaining about killers using cheap strategies.
