My Survivor Experience Tonight

I really wish other players would do what you did and swap sides. I played solo killer for a very long time, about 1k hours and understand how stressful playing killer is, but also understand that you really can't change that. It's just a stressful role because you are going against 4 players and are trying to juggle a bunch of stuff.
However, after switching to survivor for another 1k hours, I realized how awful a play experience survivor is. You're expected to lose more than win, which is unfair. You are expected to not even be able to play the game about 25%ish of games because a killer decides to face-camp or tunnel you at gen 5.
I'm not saying killer doesn't have problems. What I am saying is the there are aspects of survivor game play that just need flat out fixed.
Facecamping from gen 5 has been in the game for 6 years. It blows my mind.
Tunneling from gen 5 has been in the game for 6 years. Please just fix this already, it's horrible game design.

"Why is everyone using Dead Hard? You deserve to lose if you all insist on using this crutch."
[DH gets nerfed]
"Why isn't everyone using BT/Kindred? You deserve to lose if you all refuse to use this crutch."

I appreciate when the devs stop by and give us their perspective

Oh, I still despise playing Survivor, but I can't play with my boys on Killer.
I've started to rack up a decent amount of escapes, but nothing really special. A year ago, I had 8000 Kills and 400 escapes. Now, it's around 10000 Kills and 1.5K escapes.

"I'm using objectively bad and/or meme perks and don't have anything to help myself or my team! Why am I getting caught first every game?"
Just because you're not running The Best Perks, doesn't mean you have to be running The Worst Perks.
You know what would've helped instead? Urban Evasion. Spine Chill. Literally any Endurance perk.
If you're going for Head On moves for some achievement, I don't think you have a reasonable complaint when you get caught immediately. You're probably getting the killer's attention specifically so you get a chance to try to locker-stun them. And if you DO locker stun them, they're PROBABLY going to camp you out of existence because just like flashlight stuns, that's the kind of move that infuriates killers.

10 games last night, lost 2, not once was I camped or tunneled. 5 games the night before. Lost 1. Same situation. Watched some streamers on Twitch yesterday, no issues whatsoever.
I'm not really sure what is causing the killers to camp, but from what I've seen in plenty of past games is that if someone is bullying the killer, they're most likely going to get camped, slugged, ect. Very rarely have I see killers just do this for no reason. And guess what, It's going to happen every now and then. Would have been nice to see video of what happened before you were camped. Not saying you did bully the killer, but would give proof that there are instances of killers just camping for no reason. Maybe capture it next time. But like I said, I haven't been recently camped, tunnelled and neither have streamers I follow, nor do their hundreds or thousands of followers/subscribers have ever complained about. That's my take.

I've just had a round where 2 people killed themselves on hook and before that was a pig tunnelling people with traps on in both rounds we didn't get more than three gens done lol this is solo queue 2022 I don't understand how the game can go on like this idk how I can keep playing I really enjoyed this game but now it's just unplayable since the update :( Killers r abusing their buffs by tunnelling and camping even harder ;-;

Watch my stream then.
Had a game last night where I get omega-tunneled off of hook.
Killer downs people and ignores them to specifically target me.
Same thing happened here except I ######### up at a jungle gym after taking the window 5 times.
Game directly after this was a Hag who caught one guy, hooked him and never left him. We kept 1 for 1'ing but we literally couldn't do gens fast enough
5 -
If you'd actually bothered to look, I wasn't caught first. I wasn't even caught second. I was caught FOURTH and the Pinhead decided that I wouldn't be playing anymore.
L take.

Okay, I'll check it out.

You know what? Fair enough. I didn't even look at the Hook State Counter to see that the killer had hooked multiple other people before he resorted to camping. Seems like this guy was playing pretty 'fair' for a good chunk of the game.
Which then begs the question: why did he decide to camp you specifically?
You say you were going for an achievement. Would that Achievement possibly involve locker-stuns from Head On? Did you, perhaps, locker-stun the killer during the game and they decided "alright, that's enough of that"?

Out of the 7 recent games I played, there was only 1 game in which in the killer didn't camp or tunnel someone at gen 5. Killers are just standing right outside of terror radius and coming right back to the hook the second someone is hooked.
So I'm with @Pulsar, I'm seeing a lot of camping and tunneling at gen 5, which also seems to be the norm for most survivor posts I'm seeing on the forum. You're survivor experience is the exception to the rule I guess.

Incentives? Killer is easy as hell now. Devs should punish hard camp and tunnel.
5 -
Oh, I believe you guys. I'm just trying to understand because like you said, my experience has been different. Who knows, maybe this weekend I'll get camped every game.

What I find most interesting in your videos is the fact that you were being camped at 3 gens. One on your first hook and the second on your second hook. Both matches the killer went with the intention of this being the strategy, which means they either
A: Were trying to ruin your matches.
Or B: Planned to camp at the start as they believed it was a valid strategy.
Or most likely C both.
I wish you luck Pulsar.

It might be the MMR difference. At the lowest level of MMR everything is really random as to what happens. At the 2nd lowest and Middle seems to be the sweet spot for survivor play, killers rarely camp. I'm pretty sure I'm at the 2nd highest level and camping and tunneling is horrible. At the highest level of play, it's probably even worse.

First Survivor-Game today: 3 Man Escape (2 Man SWF vs. Onryo) - it was really fun.

I don't think @Pulsar went out to ruin a Killers match. I really hate that survivors get blamed for every little evil thing that killers do.
4 -
Neither did I... which is why I never said that. I am confused.
0 -
I'm sorry that you had one game where you got camped that time, I guess.
0 -
Opps, lol. I misread what you said, I thought you said...
You (Instead of they)
Were trying to ruin your matches.

Makes sense. I'm not sure where I am on the MMR scale, but all I know is when I get a bunch of wins, I end up getting a game where we are just slaughtered. Usually by a Nurse. Yesterday I lost to a Nurse and a Clown. Didn't even get the first gen done. Both were using at least 2 information perks like Lethal Pursuer. The day before was a doctor with Merciless Storm, Sloppy Butcher, Coulrophobia and Unnerving Presence. Let's just say there was no chance in getting skill checks done. They each had at most 1 gen slowdown perk.

I always assume that when you start getting Nurses and Blights more than average, you are in the middle-top.
1 -
You should see Reddit then, people can post examples of the worst kind of toxicity there and a legion of people come to defend the whole thing with convoluted "what if..." scenarios where somehow the agressor is some kind of victim and exercising his divine right to karmic justice against some vile archdemon.
Obviusly both sides do this but Reddit being Killer central is especially aggravating.
1 -
You act as if camping isn’t a common thing.
1 -
It's kind of weird, but I have noticed more survivors on these forums. When I first got on, these forums were almost 95% killer mains. Which makes sense, killers mains and hybrids are going to be much more invested in the game that survivors-mains.
1 -
Yep, Nurses, Blights, a random clown and doctor, a Pinhead who literally tortured all of us the entire game, letting us finish gens and get out only to get chained at the end. Fortunately was able to escape just in the nick of time. In fact, I get a lot of Nurses now that I think about it. At least one a day. There was another Nurse yesterday that I managed to escape against. So 2 total yesterday. I guess where I am, it's the right difficulty give or take a few games where it's just a slaughterhouse. So it makes sense I guess that I'd be middle-top. Maybe that's the sweet spot? I used to get a lot of camping and tunneling but I had to adapt and eventually played more selfishly just to win or at least get hatch. Plus, I'm still a bit new to the game since I started playing last Fall around when Nemesis dropped. But thanks for giving me all this info. I hadn't known there were tiers to the MMR and types of playstyles that seemed to fit in those tiers. It makes more sense now.

I tend to play both but I usually main survivor because I usually get more BPs in the long run. But yeah, I'd definitely like to know how many players play only survivor, only killer and those who are hybrids.

Not face camping, no. I played for two hours last night and didn't get face camped once. Folks just remember the times it happens and gloss over the dozens of games where it didn't. It's confirmation bias.
Like if I recorded all the games where I got out last night and made a moronic post about how like "GAME TOO EASY I ESCAPE EVERY TIME" that'd be ridiculous, right? Of course I don't escape every game. Just like how people don't get face camped every game. People see an anecdote that reinforces what they want to believe and go with it.

Nope, my achievement is to hide in a locker during chase.
Didn't even have the opportunity to do so, like I said.

I'm a main killer, and I never stay close to the hook, I don't tunnel, I always try different builds. And I have a lot of fun. We are not all like that. Just as not all survs are toxic.
0 -
I couldn't tell you.
In recent years, I play a lot of Survivor. I used to play mostly (only) Killer.

Body is 1 character too short.

Glad im not the only ones experiencing this in my solo surv games. Its been a camping killer literally everygame, its insane. The only game where it wasn't, was when my friends and I did those stupid wiggle off builds- so they couldnt get us ona hook to camp lol. Really hard to have an enjoyable game so far in this patch.
1 -
Update today. Same thing basically.
This was in EGC, but she facecamped during the rest of the game as well, even when it lost her the last gen. You can watch the entire game on my stream, if you so desire.

Totally missed your comment, sorry!
I had a lot of fun getting the pallet saves achievement using Power Struggle, Tenacity, UB and Flip Flop.

Chain hunt had not started yet and it only takes 1 surv to get the box. 2 gens had been done and u were on first hook so even with deadlock if they all did gens they would have been fine.
All of that aside though, the correct play was to do an exchange as Jake had taken no hooks. But this all worked because your team either lurked around the hook or were healing and did not save and only started gens when u were nearly dead, therefore of course this killer is going to camp and win, blame your team here.
