The new meta is the best we ever had
Im a survivor main, playing killer sometimes. Im playing since 2018. I think the game has never been fair like this patch.
The changes are good. The new meta is way more interesting, less frustrating and more skillful.
Thank you devs for listening to us.
I cant wait to see whats coming next.
Dbd is so much fun and its fair now, thank you again.

This sounds like a cry for help. Blind twice if someone is forcing you to type these things 👀
71 -
So what killer do you main?
35 -
Im a main clown
16 -
So not a solo q main, that's what I thought yeah.
39 -
I mean at least in my games it feels like survivors are figuring out the new meta. The almost slaughterhouse feeling of the patch day is gone. Though i agree that they need to revert some buffs on slowdown perks, they already did a good job of slowing games down a little.
5 -
Huh? You asked what killer he mains, after writing that he´s survivor main.
26 -
Devs litterally buffed soloq but ok dude 😂
5 -
How did they buff solo q, fellow killer main?
27 -
Dont know why some of killer mains can be even salty now, u just can do 4k every game now, just enjoy ur games tho.
16 -
For killers? Yea, Its much better.
For Survivors? I don't know man... Forever Legion / Plague sounds like the most boring thing since Forever Freddy but some killers for sure can have interesting build.
4 -
I let myself get hooked when I see this. I don't want to waste 30 minutes in a game. just to press M1.
1 -
"best Meta we ever had", only if the Slowdown-Meta would have been nuked as well.
15 -
Then why even queue?
1 -
No, no they didn’t. But thanks for giving us confirmation that you don’t play survivor at all.
13 -
When did they do that? Because it’s gotten worse
10 -
Because not every killer is playing nurse with 4 regressions perks.
98% of them have self esteem :)
6 -
But they did. Basekit BT + SB is a buff.
6 -
2 minute gens+mending 40 times in one single game sounds like fun?
Overall, the perk variety in 50% of the killer roster is nice, but the other 50% is literally DC worthy imo. 2 days ago was the first time in literal weeks where I decided to DC and close the game after facing 5 legions with Thana.
Killer games have been too easy too. I've gotten 3 4k's in a row, as a Myers.
I think the DH change alone was going to help a lot. I think Gift of Pain and Thana changes were a nice optional way to increase gen times. I think the 90 second gens were absolutely horrible.
Maybe if deepwounds and hooked players aren't considered for Thana stacks.
1 -
Nice sarcasm.
1 -
You don't even list what the "meta" is lmao
2 -
Look another killer main pretending to be a solo-queue main player.
7 -
I think it's just a different meta tbh, not good or bad.
I played killer as Plague and Demo. Demo with STBFL felt really good with just 4 stacks. Faster recovery and shred allowed me to close distance quicker. DH is probably the biggest difference as they can't DH for distance as I shred after an M1.
Plague felt similar as before. My same build still works (Corrupt, Fearmonger, Thano, Thrilling Tremors). I play Prayer Tablet. Biggest difference is when I down first survivor and Corrupt goes down. Then I find myself having to go infect those 3 gens. My build is a slow pressure build that gets momentum over time. Thano + Longer gen times help as survivors have to go cleanse. I pick up corrupt purge once all pools are corrupted (auto) or when all survivors are sick. So this forces survivors to go across the map to cleanse in some circumstances. This helps balance out bigger maps. I regress the gen and reinfect and then the process repeats. More effective once we get to a 3-4 gen situation. Extra time does help a little as I can go pressure before gen pops, but not game breaking imo.
As survivor I think not having to run BT is a huge help. I liked running BT and Guardian, which base kit BT is very similar to this combo. I find toolboxes with Streetwise/Built to Last helps check Thano. Slap on an exhaustion perk (Head On/Sprint Burst) and a 4th perk. Overzealous is cool if you're good with totem spawns.
Another fun build is Head On/Overzealous/Inner Strength/Flash Bang.
Im not a high tier player, but I think it's good to try new builds

I have 2000hours on survivor dude. Not my problem if you dont know how to play it well 🤷♂️

For sure killers got the larger overall buff, that’s even intentional on the devs’ part, they said they wanted to increase the kill rates in their blogs about the update. What will be interesting is to eventually maybe see actual statistics of before and after snapshots of kill rates to see what the ultimate impact of the patch actually is. Right now, though, there are a LOT of survivors who are still getting used to the new system, particularly the 70% who relied on Dead Hard and ran their pathing knowing they had it in their pocket. What used to be a loop they could do safely three times with that perk, for instance, now might only be safe twice, or a particular path to a window might be risky without it, etc. So they have to kind of relearn the optimal routes and that’ll take a little time to flesh out. On top of which you have survivors doing questionable things like wasting Off the Record and base kit Endurance going for pointless bldyblocks because it’s new.
I think in the end kill rates are, in the short term, probably artificially high right now due to those factors, but over time they’ll go down to be higher than they were prepatch but (hopefully) not TOO much higher.
2 -
Ok dude
8 -
You won’t see statistics of kills now. They will be burned to ashes

The new meta is way more interesting, less frustrating and more skilful
The most optimal way to play killer has always been to camp. Which is why they introduced the emblem system in order try to decrease usage of this strategy before they ultimately threw it out the window for a system based entirely off kills. This new DBD 2.0 does not change this. In fact it makes camping even more optimal then it was before. Maybe that's the direction people want, but it is certainly not skilful.
Similarly there is far more of a focus on the importance of gens then ever before, as the extra gen time combined with the shorter chase time inherently makes gens harder while also soft buffing every single anti gen perk in the game. Which is not only les interesting but also less skilful.
If you enjoy the patch all the power to you. however please don't call it skilful, if anything its actually the removal of skill for the sake lowering the skill ceiling in order to ensure killers don't feel as dominated.

This is not helpful.

This is April 22 - May 22, from an aggregate data site.
This is June 21 - July 21, from an aggregate site.
So it looks like kill rates have went up about 1.72% for the 3 out of 30 days the patch has been active. I'm curious to see what happens after a full month has passed.
7 -
I'm just happy to see variety of perks.
2 -
If the average was 48.05 for 27 days and 48.05 + x for 3 days, and we assume for simplicity all those days had the same total number of matches, and that the net over 30 days was 49.72, then we get
27*48.05 + 3*(48.05 + x) = 30* 49.72
So x = 16.7, i.e. the new kill rate went up about 16% to about 64.75.

Nice maths. What do you do for a living?

Number stuff. 😄

This joke went over so many people's heads lmao
4 -
When you play crap like Enduring and Spies from the Shadows, it really is the best meta right now. It's a shame that cheeseball killers are trying to ruin it.
1 -
Uh... what? are you threatening me or...? lol
3 -
I remember forever freddy. Every game now is forever freddy. With Legion games being forever freddy++
2 -
Not all of us killer mains are stacking 4 slowdowns. I've been playing Devour Hope Ghostface, big terror radius Clown, and No Way Out/Blood Warden builds. You can actually play these builds now and have a great chance to get 2k+ 8+ hooks playing fair if you play well
1 -
where you got that from exactly?
0 -
Unless killer knows how to count 5. But still if that is considered small buff for soloQ killers got even bigger one with faster pallet breaking, hit cool down and gen times got increased. And now you need 2 hits to down someone before survivors had 3 health state with dh.
2 -
How 0K games are so usual? One happens to me maybe once every 20-30th game.
1 -
Since when did Sprint Burst become basekit ?
0 -
When you get unhooked you get a speed boost.
0 -
People have been asking for a camp protection and now that we got it, everyone complains...
What did people expect? 80 seconds of hit protection upon getting unhooked?

Dead Hard was literally the most boring thing in the game for years. As a Killer, you're just like "Yeah, but this guy OBVIOUSLY has DH because everyone does, so he's gonna press E now to get to that pallet/window, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to down them. Oh look he did exactly that and I'm not playing Nurse, now I gotta redo the chase all over again and there goes 3 generators...".
You guys have counterplay to Legion, just do the most efficient way of playing since launch and split up. There are more than enough huge maps to invalidate the Legion's ability to Deep Wound everyone even when using Never Sleep Pills. Overload the Plague's power and play around red puke by running LoS, holding W and playing very safe.
Now survivors are actually trying to build differently, except for the metaslave SwFs running 4 Off the Records, and even that isn't as common as PTB led us to believe. Now you gotta play around Sprint Burst, Lithe, Overcome, and for every OtR, DH, BT, and anything that gives Endurance, worst case scenario you get to punish the survivors instead of seeing them walking away freely.
I'd bet it will go up a bit in the next few weeks, and a bit more once the next Killer (Mr. W?) hits us in the next chapter, and then will stabilize again as players learn how to play without relying on E to fix their mistakes.

Who, according to many here, is very easy to play and win with.
0 -
That's not sprint burst tho, since it's a 7% Haste, which is similar to Babysitter/Guardian. Sprint burst is 150% haste

Ruin? Nerfed
Pop? Nerfed
Corrupt? Nerfed
Pain Resonance? Nerfed
Yeah if only that slowdown meta had been nerfed. That Thana buff really messing you up bad, huh?
5 -
Where did i write Sprint Burst? I wrote SB = Speed Boost.

The Meta for Killers is still 4 Slowdown-Perks. Just different ones.
So not really an improvement.
