My Freddy Build

As a Freddy main, I find this build works pretty well for me at mid mmr (I assume). I like to call this build “oblivious forever Freddy”.

True to its name, this build is a hybrid of oblivious and slowdown. The four perks are: Deadlock, Lethal Pursuer, Plaything, Pentimento. I will explain why I use these perks and I am seeking feedback for this build.

Deadlock: I run this perk because I find it an extremely passive slowdown perk. It can give you good info and interrupt generators, preventing gen rushing at its peak (when multiple gens pop at once).

Lethal Pursuer: I like this perk a lot because I find that it helps my early game a lot. Freddy doesn’t have the best early game and it is wise to find and hit as many survivors as you can ASAP and put them in the dream world. This perk helps me apply pressure early and ensures I get the quicker first down.

Plaything: This perk makes the “oblivious” part of the build. With plaything, survivors will be always oblivious. With the help of plaything, survivors have to choose the be either oblivious constantly or be slowed down by the next perk - last but not least.

Pentimento: I know this perk is controversial because if the survivors don’t cleanse their playthings it will be a waste of perkslot, but if it is activated it is powerful - especially at 2 stacks. If survivors cleanse their plaything, I can rekindle those totems and slow down gens and survivors healing speeds (at 2 stacks). This makes the survivors face a difficult choice and solo queue survivors might not choose the same decision and might cleanse their totems anyway.

This build might not be the most powerful or meta but I value it a lot, and thus that’s why I wrote this long explanation seeking for feedback. I’m a rather new Freddy main so I would welcome any feedbacks on builds and gameplay tips. Thanks!

I really like Plaything. Its my favourite Hex-Perk and a guarantee for using Pentimento. I have never encountered survs who gives a sht about the 1.5k for cleansing a hex :-P. So if I want Penti, I combine it with Plaything every time. But: I use Penti only at lv 1 (for gens), never more. Lethal is nice, but with that build, youll never get to use its 2nd and new ability.

I played Pain Resonance, Dead Man Switch, Tinkerer and Corrupt Intervention BEFORE the patch.

At the moment I am trying stuff out, but there is 1 perk I will never change: Dead Man Switch. Im so in love with the fake-teleports, seeing the white aura in 100m distance to block a gen, its so Entertaining for me.

My current build is DMS, Surveillance, Opression and a 4th perk.

    My secret weapon: Twins Opression

You kick a gen and up to 3 random over the map starts also regressing.

Which means: You have a max of 4 white Auras at Gens and whenever a survs stops a regressing gen, they have to face a difficult skill checks (Paint Brush + Blue Dress-Addon-Combo possible) AND, more important, Surveillance shows these auras in yellow.

Opression + Surveillance shows me all the time where the survs are and with DMS I know where to fake to block the gens.

The only issue with Opression is its cooldown, which is 80secs...

4th perk is No Way Out atm, but I also ran STBFL, Overcharge or others.

But: Main Idea is Opression + Surveillance, knowing where they are, block gens with DMS from distance (or teleport to a right gen, not just guessing) and pressure the survs every second.

In the end I still hope Freddy will receive an Addon-Pass, because, lets be honest, he has only 1 good addon at the moment, The Red Paint Brush

Thanks for the tips! I thought about your DMS build and it actually makes a lot of sense and sounds powerful in game! I will try this build out because one of my main pains is idk where to teleport to so a lot of the times I could really benefit from info perks like surv. BTW, oppression and surv is such a smart combo.

Forgot to mention this in my earlier reply. My only problem with this build is with DMS, it limits your teleport options (because blocked gens cannot be teleported to). I thought about running DMS but in the end discarded the idea due to this same reason.

Thats correct, but do u want to teleport to a dead area instead of protecting gens survs can work on? If you start the prejection and DMS comes in, you can still teleport through the Entity-Animation. You just cannot teleport to a gen when its already blocked.

Ask yourself: Do u want to teleport to an area, where survs cannot do anything to fullfill their main goal, which is 5 gens?

Keep in mind: Everything else besides 5 gens is optional. Gens is all that matters.
