The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

This game would die within a week if everyone had the same experience I had since the update.

I'm not complaining about the update specifically. I like it and welcome the nerfs and buffs on either side (except Off The Record, which I now run 100% of my matches), including Dead Hard which I ran every match, but I can't ignore the fact that these issues have increased drastically since.

Playing killer has been more fun since the update but the queue times are 10 min at every time of day, while before killer queues were faster in the evening, and survivor queues were faster in the morning.

It would be bearable but there's either:

1. The occasional 4-man sweat group with teabaggers, flashlight macros, and gg ez spammers which doesn't make waiting 10 min feel worth it. Trying hard to win I understand, but when I don't play Nurse/Blight/Spirit, it's unballanced. I don't have a main, and switch up killers after every match.

or 2. People who experience the same survivor games I experience with DCs and people killing themselves on 1st hook, making the queue times longer than the matches.

As for playing survivor, even with a 5s queue time, solo survivor has become completely unbearable.

Teammates keep DCing and killing themselves on 1st hook. And those who don't, the majority of them are clueless. I run Kindred in solo queue so I can see that they're crouching in a corner when the killer is on the opposite side of the map, or how they are opening chests while healthy when someone's on a hook and going to hit stage 2 if they don't get off the chest and run to them immediately.

Note: I've been Iri rank in both roles consistenly for the past 900h (if I play that month), so I wouldn't say I deserve the MMR.

On the other side killers keep camping and tunneling, even on 5 gens. Again I run Kindred so I can see that they're within 16 meters 23/7, even with no survivor near the hook.

Second problem with killer is that 50% of my killer games are Nurse, majority who run Agitation and Starstruck, with an occasional Infectious fright who will then slug and chain downs on 5 gens (even with a DC they play like it's a tournament game). 20% are blights who use slide tech and turn 130+ degrees around corners, 10% are face camping bubbas, and 20% are the rest (including nice, noncamping bubbas).

Playing with premades has not been much more bearable when half the games are Nurse with the aforementioned build who run Kavanagh's Last Breath and Fragile Wheeze making her catch up immediately after a hit.

(I play with a casual group, not a tryhard 4-man squad.)

I've had issues with the game before but none so serious that made me create an account just to post something like this. I don't see a reason to play this game right now when 8/10 matches are terrible, and the reason are the players.

As for suggestions, nerf nurse and fix blight, something to stop camping and tunneling, and fix MMR and queue times.

(On an additional note, I saw a streamer with 270+ winstreak on Nurse. If that doesn't say something, I don't know what will.)

Too many suggestions and predictions for me.

I believe you, but I think everyone has seen a lot of people complaining about queue times, so believe me as well. It's still a big issue even if not everyone has it.

"Fixing" Nurse will not stop camping and tunneling or even slugging. I made a post about the increase of hook suicides and camping and tunneling after the patch with players saying they are going to switch from survivor to killer.

With people doing hook suicides combined with the influx of camping and tunneling I'm afraid these players who switched are trying to inflate the kill numbers to influence a change similar to the Spirit issues when soany we're doing hook suicides to inflate her kill numbers.

Prior to the update, killer mains went on about how the devs said "kill rates are too low". The devs propose an update with a bunch of killer buffs to increase kill rates. Kill rates increase; that's what happens when Pinhead has the box and four slowdowns against four solos. Killer mains then accuse survivors of throwing to explain the skyrocketing kill rates. I think killers have buyer's remorse because they asked for too much and got all of it and more, making trials too easy.

As far as kill rates, there are nice killers who still let survivors go, those learning Nurse and failing, Deathslingers on Switch, etc.

In my survivor games there are always 1 or 2 people suicide on hook giving the killer kills while there HAS been a strange uptick on camping and Tunneling at 5 gens beyond that of what we only really saw at high MMR and the sparse Bubbas.

I'm not saying what you said is false however but you can't deny there has been a increase of posts about both issues since patch and they do match up with the amount of Survivors saying they are going to play Killer now.

There is no point to this post. It's just a long meandering account of your experience. It doesn't match the title. We all have experiences like this and we didn't quit. What was your point?

I have had games when I downed someone or even harpooned them and they instantly dc or kill themselves on hook, mind you im playing addonless deathslinger and my build consists of: BBQ, plaything, hysteria and m&a.

So no slowdown is at play, or few if you consider plaything slowdown, im playing a bad killer, addonless, and people still give up consistently before even the second down happens, I am pretty sure people are just throwing because they want.

If the game is balanced, then killer queues should always take longer, you require 4 players for one after all

The point is to show that there is a serious problem in the game currently that is driving people away. Tbh if 80% of your games have been horrible and you didn't stop playing, that just says you're addicted or have nothing else to play. I've seen comments of multiple people saying they're quitting and that's the short time I've been on the forums. 2 out of the 3 people I played with frequently also rarely ever feel like playing anymore.

Killer queues are that long because people don't want to play survivor. 4 people vs 1, but 5s queue vs 10 min isn't really a balanced ratio.

[Edit] That first comment wasn't showing up, sorry.

You either face sweaty killers running 3 gen regression perks out of 4 and the game turns into a M1 simulator (how original) or killers who tunnel harder than before because of the Endurance basekit and survivors just give up on the hook.

I'm running Sole Survivor just to see gens pop faster than now.
