Pain Res still causing exploding (and possibly screaming)?
Platform: PC
Description of the issue: A facecamping Bubba had Pain Res. For some reason the in-game perk description still states the generator explodes (instead of sparks) - and my generator did explode when he hooked. I don't recall if I screamed or not, which is not any longer in the perk description. The developer update stated the perk is only supposed to cause sparking and not exploding, which is what the wiki states. Please see comparing screenshots below.
Steps to reproduce (if possible): Use Pain Res, see if it still explodes the most progressed gen.
How often does this occur: One time so far.
Wiki says sparks, which is what the update said it was supposed to do:

it doesn't make you scream, it's does the same thing as Surge does, except that Surge alerts the killer, and pain res doesn't

I think you're taking this "sparking" vs "exploding" way too literally. The mechanics are usually not that sophisticated and effects will be reused rather than made new.
The description was only adjusted to make it clear that survivors won't scream anymore, despite the visuals remaining the same.

Maybe the original description wasn't all that clear, but we all knew what it meant. It is working as it intended, the generator "sparkles", loses progress, but the survivors don't scream and neither does the Killer get a notification about which generator got regressed.

There is a very clear distinction between exploding and sparking. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have bothered mentioning that part of the change in the developer update. They would have just said that they removed the screaming.
So they either changed their minds, or it’s bugged. And I’m hoping it’s the latter.

sparkling is more like when ruins kicks in. pain res is clearly not sparkling like ruin do

Again, it is not bugged. It is exploding just like with Jolt. If the killer is not near, they won't even know which one it is and survivor do need a visual/audible indication of what happened.

If it’s not bugged, we were lied to in the developer update. A generator can still regress and spark without exploding. Sparks and regression are both visual and audio cues.

I read your comment, and thank you for your input; but I clearly understand the differentiation between exploding and sparking. You, on the other hand, are welcome to review why I think this is a bug with everything I posted above. Seems at least four other forum users agree with my report, if we’re going off of upvotes.
