Que Time As KIller

Why is the que time for killer been so much longer the past week or so?

My queue time is typically 20-60 seconds. The longest I had to wait was 3 minutes. It's nothing.

The increase in queue time is because you need 4 survivors to 1 killer, so if the ratio of survivors drops even slightly, or more killer players playing the game increases slightly, the wait likewise changes.

Theoretically, minimum thresholds for MMR also affect queue times, but I haven't noticed an appreciably more accurate matchmaking, so meh.

There are about a dozen reason one could list, but the disappearance of the Queue Blood Point bonus is a large reason I am playing solo survivor less and mostly playing when my friends are online. Once it comes back, I imagine queue times will improve by a fair bit, considering how much people are inclined to do things for Blood Points.

It's been longer for me this past week. Even at night. I usually get them within seconds at night but haven't been recently.

That could be why. It's unusual for me to wait as long as I have been this past week or so.

A lot of players have been testing out different killers and builds they don't usually play since the killer buff. That combined with BP queue incentives being gone in the meantime would probably make for some slower killer queues all around.

Maybe, but perhaps not. It depends on how new the player is or their goals. If you want a prestige 100 character, obviously the bonus is important. But if you have been playing for a year, you probably do not need bloodpoints for your main role anymore. So unless you want to change roles and start from scratch, the BP bonus is whatever.

It will be an incentive. But if there were truly a systematic problem, it would not solve anything. Just like the Overwatch incentives solve nothing.

It is a single factor contributing to queue times.

I am fully aware there are many more, as stated in the previous comment.

I tried playing as killer yesterday (just got back from vacation). I never loaded in after about 10 minutes. I switched to survivor. I just didn't feel like waiting.

Killer times have been longer for me for months now, but usually just around 6 minutes at most.

My wife and her friends are taking a break from DBD as they just keep getting rekt and they think the gen stacking perks are overtuned. I'm sure others are too. I'll keep playing, but likely not as much as before.

That would be my guess as to why the killer queues are longer.
