Overcharge needs to be kill switched immediately
Overcharges regression continues even after the generator has been tapped. Effectively giving a ruin like affect without a totem.
I'm also pretty sure the effect stacks with regression. So for example, if you were to have the effect active and the jolt hit the generator, it would be regressing at 175 percent. 100 percent from jolt and 75 percent from overcharge.

By tapping you mean you completed the skill check right?

yes

Can you add video? And you should add this to bug reports, not here.

I'm sure bug reports have already been submitted, I wanted to create a PSA for the community.

Can you make a video about that? Cause yesterday i had a match against a Jolt + Overcharge Mendslinger and the regression didn´t continue.

https://youtu.be/cf4g1-GkCIs Not my video, but it shows the behavior better than I could.

I was hoping it'd be fixed today but I guess it'll be next week
It should probably be killswitched until then considering it's quite game breaking. It's also quite an insidious bug because it's not immediately obvious what's happening

Wait a minute, now I wonder if the gen that I tapped in one of my games was affected by this bug. It makes sense...

God, no, stop kill-switching things

Without being able to speak German, is this saying that it does stop regression if you fail the skillcheck?
1 -
I can't speak German either, but I think it might.

Yes. He says you have to fail the skillcheck in order to stop the regression.

The gen stopped sparking after he made the Overcharge skill check, I wonder if it was a latency thing where it the regression display was catching up to the actual gen progress? Unfortuantely that video only showed the generator for maybe a second after the skill check so it’s impossible to tell if that regression continued beyond that.

To be fair some things do occasionally need to be kill switched.

You saying you want to replace Overcharge with a new perk called Killswitch? Kicking a generator regresses it to 0%.
Sounds good, pug. Ship it.

I noticed it in game before I found the video. It will regress to nothing.
2 -
That explains why sometimes I left a gen after tapping just to find it back to zero progress.

Yep, they should. Took them a bit too long to Killswitch clown. Overcharge should be killswitched as well. I personally won't use it until it's fixed, but I know others will. Either without knowing it's bugged (not their fault) or knowing it's bugged and taking advantage of it

Correct

Killswitch it. All regression perks should have a way to stop them or a finite end (not 0%). Ruin's totem can be broken, thanatphobia's survivors can be healed, etc.

Overcharge alone is not causing this.
It's Call of Brine in combination with Overcharge.
So Call of Brine needs to be kill switched and not Overcharge..
//Edit: Nevermind im stupid. That logic works the other way around. How do we decide wich perk had to be kill switched? lol..
