This game is WAY too Killer Sided by FAR.
Call me an "entitled surv" main all you want but cmon. All these nerfs to surv and buffs to killer make the game feel WAYYYY too one sided now. It just doesnt even feel fun. I played a few killer games actually and its just wayy too easy to get kills now. Theres no punishent for camping, save the best for last feels like your hacking now. DS is useless. Iron will is garbage. Spine chill is not what it used to be. Thanat got buffed, gen speed is slowed down. Like what is going on?

STBFL is literally less than a 1/5 of a second faster at full stacks, if you got downed by full stacks post patch, you would have pre-patch too

Whats going on is Valve thought killers were too weak and buffed them. After people stop throwing they will get some number and adjust those changes accordingly.
For what its worth, a solo survivors worst enemy is other solo survivors that just dc on first down or suicide on hook. Nothing the killer can do even comes close to that level of effectiveness and since the update, those kinds of players have been rampant. Like every 3/4 games. The other 1/4 games that survivors actually try to win are very enjoyable.

i mean i play huntress and assume i have pretty high mmr, not like coco level or tourney level but enough that people do gens... the main issue isnt gens its the mmr being wonky and solo q. better players are gonna do gens, so yes while this sucks it just goes back to how it used to be, solo and worse players suffer the most. I mean i run pain res and thana and bitter as well as corrupt and ill get rid of corrupt pretty quickly since i can down fairly fast, but lots of people heal efficently or do gens well and it still slows down at 3 gens or less do to increasing pressure. But yeah with extra slowdown it would definitely be worse, i just dont have many perks so I wouldnt make use of them anyways

Not with the additional nerf to the speed boost survivors get. Just like everybody says, “every second counts when playing killer. A half a second could be the difference between you downing a survivor or them vaulting a window/getting away.” Same applies to survivors. So no, you’re wrong. He might’ve been able to get away in a lot of scenarios pre patch.

The Thanat buff is also pretty insignificant once you work it out. The breaking speeds are probably a bigger deal than stbfl and thanat, tbh. They also nerfed all the best slowdown perks, and I don't really feel like gens are taking that much longer. It feels longer because the base speed is slower, but I also feel like I get interrupted less. CoB + Overcharge is the new flavor of the month, but the killer has to come to you to use it.
They pretty much murdered the best passive slowdown perk (Ruin), and the best slowdown combo in recent memory.
I am still just flabbergasted that people are still shocked and indignant that DS, IW, SC, etc. are not that good now. BHVR wants us to run different perks, they plainly said disrupting the meta was the intent behind the patch.
So they made the perks we ran the most a lot worse. The want their use rates to go way down. That's the point.
Step one to getting past this is letting go of your old meta build, and finding new builds. Sticking with the same perks is going to be the way of pain.
Let. Your. Old. Build. Go.
I suspect at some point some of the stuff (like the DS stun duration) will be walked back, but not until a new meta takes shape.
Personally, I'm having fun trying new stuff out.

all of that is cool and all, but what does that really mean if A LOT of the player base are complaining and uninstalling the game dude? yeah the meta can change sure, but at what cost? its NOT FUN anymore for most people.

The first sign that killers might be the power role and survivors have to work to escape and they quit, but survivors were very happy to run old DS+UB+DH for how many years and lets not forget the classic i used my DS at 55 sec after spend 45sec on a gen the killer was tunneling me, lets not bring up the mori nerf and how killers had to sit though lobby after lobby of people bringing in keys but i guess it was killer sided back then and getting out the hatch with 2-3 gens left was fair.

I get what you’re saying but not everybody used those perks, and not every survivor that ran them abused them. whereas every killer got these crazy buffs. Plus they nerfed survivors way of escaping. Iron will nerf so no complete stealth. Second chance perks nerfed and not useable at all once the last gen is complete. Have you played survivor and looped the killer for a long time only to go down and be hooked, the last gen gets finished, you get unhooked and run a little bit only to get downed again and not be able to use OTR or DS? Yeah, not fun when your perks don’t work for absolutely no reason. Then you talk about keys but they were nerfed and made literally completely useless but the mori nerf is still pretty good and kinda OP. If you get tunneled off hook after your 2nd hook, you can still use DS, you have a possibility of wiggling off, teammates can sabo hook/take hits, teammate can flashlight save or pallet save, etc. the game is not over for that survivor yet the mori totally voids any of that and takes the survivor out of the game.. you speak of all of these “OP” things survivors had but killers can literally walk faster than survivors and kill them. Meaning there is quite literally nothing a survivor can do but die if the killer wanted him to

The killer has always been the power role. But if you're talking about balance, it hasn't been survivor sided in a very long time.
After CoH's release, kill rates were around 55%. Before CoH, the kill rates averaged around 67%. In both of these scenarios, the forums held an unshakeable mentality where the game's survivor sided. But 'forum killers' have always refused to consider their own skill in the equation.
Killers win? Survivors bad. Survivors win? Killers UP.
The game's survivor sided, because look at tournament level play!
The game's not killer sided, Otz getting consistent wins on every single killer without any perks or add-ons and with the first 30 seconds spent AFK is not an indicator because Otz plays this game for a living and is way too high level a killer.
The game has been varying degrees of killer sided for years, killers just aren't as good as they think they are, and/or just aren't having fun and are confusing that for unbalanced gameplay.

That same logic can also be used for survivors this update dropped and all meta survivor perks got changed and the games unfun and killer sided, survivors just aren't as good as they think they are and those perks made them better then the level they were at.
I gave 2 examples which were very survivor sided even if we just look at mori's when that changed happened you can not say that was killer sided, that was a pure survivor sided change otherwise the devs would of changed keys at the same time.
This game has the habit of one update being killer sided then the next one survivor sided and people forget what the last one was and which side had to suffer after that update, when CoH dropped killers had to suffer with that for a while and not just that it was strong but the only real counter was to kill the survivor running the perk as you just put it out you didn't break the totem.
People can go back and forth listing each change a side got be it a nerf or a buff and how the other side might of had to suffer or have unfun experience until problems got fixed, the update has been out a week which is not enough time for them to fix or adjust stuff as they need more data and stats to show what needs to be addressed.

That's all well and good, but last we saw, there was a 55% kill rate. Whatever the devs want isn't necessarily the definition of balance.

I think the main problem is that every game now consists of 1 survivor DCing/suiciding after being looked at funny, and another 2 crouching behind corners for most of the game.
I feel like the patch still hasn't settled in for many yet, you have to adapt at least a little. Try different play styles and perk builds.
Actually attempt to do gens instead of staying stuck in the usual altruistic death cycle.
Even playing as killer, a lot of the wins seem to be an issue of survivors being clueless more than the changes the patch brought, there's been a huge shift in the quality of players which I think skews how the patch should truly be perceived.

Actually the devs are the ones that determine how they want it balanced and where that line is. Balance is not a uniform single definition, as skill levels, coordination, experience are factors. So... Actually yes what the devs want is actually where that balance point is defined.

We haven´t had official kill rates in over half a year. Its fair to assume, that the kill rates dropped significantly.

Balance isn't really that subjective. If the devs say the game is balanced if killers average 3.5 kills, would that actually be balanced?

A Business sets it's own K.P.I's, just because you as a customer diagree with it doesn't mean it's wrong or right.
And like any other business if you're not happy with it the best thing you can do is to use your feet or your wallet in this case and not support them.

Such an arbitrary single digit doesn't actually reflect balance. If 1000 players with less than 150 hours all get 4ks all the time but the 250 players with over 150 hours gets 0 the overall killrate is still extremely high, is that balanced? That is what you ignore, it isn't a single factor that determines how balanced the game is. The devs look at way more to determine where they want those values to be and if they state kill rates were to low that is simply the case. Additionally when a player dies the chances more die increase exponential, so... That is also a factor.
You clearly don't know how game balance is determined. In the end Devs set the bar, so what they want is literally the definition of the balance.

Well swf is still strong if you are good loopers you should be able to win still most games. But soloQ is miserable right now. Tunneling and camping were made to too powerful on this patch and entitled killer mains defend them as legitimate stragedies. Well devs should just admit they are not and do something about them if they want survivors to not quit the game. Killer queque times are now about 10 mins. Soon what 20 min? Then what 1 hour? But I just have to wait that as im not touching soloQ and my friends rarely play after the patch. They are not good loopers maybe above average so we lose most matches.

That is not balance though, that is just their intention. There is a pretty big difference between the two. What they say; goes. But if they are saying that 1 plus 2 equals 5, surely you see why many people would take issue with that. Their game or not. It is just simply incorrect.
The real issue is that balancing a 4v1 game is intrinsically difficult. Perhaps even impossible. Overall, I feel the game is way better balanced than most people will admit... On average. But the outliers are extremely imbalanced, probably more so than a typical survivor or killer would complain about, surprisingly.

I think the issue is, as someone else put it, incredibly low survivor morale following a patch that did too much to the survivor side at once. It’s very hard to tell what exactly was too much, if anything. So the patch as a whole gets blamed, and they’re met with “git guds” as they complain, which doesn’t help at all.

I Really Love that most Survivor Mains forget that Killers also got nerfed in this Patch most of the best Meta Perk got nerfed like Ruin, Pop , Corrupted and some buffs ..... The new buffs and the DH nerf mostly help weaker Killers to have a better Chance thd new DH is also very Good against Nurse or Blight

i win 7 our of 10 my games as solo surv. Mb you are just bad. I see absolutly no difficulty in anything expect repairing gens became boring long process after patch.
Dummy teammates is thing that brings most games to a fast end. All what you have to do is sustain chase while team reapair gens. Or repair gens while someone is in chace. Dumb survs cant sustain it for more than 20 secs and dont repair gens because they use self care somewhere in the angle vs legion .
facecamping is not gigantic problem. It mostly makes game boring but not difficult . If you are dumb and rush to save despite seing killer camping this is your fault. You had to repair gens.
also should not it be killer sided? This is suppose to be 1vs4 survivial game where some of survs escape, some die, this is not suppose to be an amusement park where survs outrun killer at any case

Then that's skewing things for economic incentive, but it's not -balance-. This has been a long-standing argument for why the game was supposedly survivor-sided: It was economically more advantageous to just give survivors whatever they want, since there's more of them and thus they pay more.
But that's not -balance-.
No, what they want is what they want. If they want the game to heavily favour survivors, that's not balance, that's just the devs heavily favouring survivors.

It is based on more information than simply the overall kill rate and BHVR themselves have stated that the values you are using to claim kill rates are to high are lower than what is to be expected according to where they want the game to be. The single value you see is not a complete picture and the developers stated that they are below what they balance the game around. If BHVR states that the game had to low kill rates for balance, then that is simply the truth as they determine which group of people they are balancing for and neither of us has the stats to claim otherwise.
You try to speak in absolutes on balance, as if each bracket and skill level has the same balance; but they don't. New players, casual players, mediocre players, good players and god like players don't share one and the same balance.

Also the devs own words “we try to balance around 2 survivors dying and 2 survivors escaping”. Data for the kill/escape ratio shows every single killer is at/above 50%
