How did BHVR think BBQ was only good for bloodpoints?

"BBQ is only meta for the bp bonus...". That's odd because I still see it every other game. It's almost like seeing where every other survivor is after each hook is powerful. So is BBQ going to get a nerf or do only the survivor meta perks get hard nerfs?

I still use BBQ on Dredge because its very Strong on him but they are still better Perk than BBQ and no they didnt only nerf Survivor perks they also nerfed the best Killer Perls Pop and Ruin are Trash now and corrupted only Works on killers that arent fast

Eh. For every killer that leaves hook only because of BBQ there is one that uses BBQ auras or lack of them as an excuse to camp. In the end killers will camp with or without BBQ. And the aura reading is strong on high mobility killers and can still provide at least good info on any other killer.

You want to nerf a perk that gets the killer to move away from the hook and chasing someone else?

Why do you want a perk that is popular and promotes the gameplay survivors like? You realize if killers don't know where to head after an unhook and find someone else they are more likely to proxy the hook?

They removed the BPs from it to make space for alternative options like thrilling tremors and the like that fulfill similar roles. In the end BBQ is a balanced and healthy perk, I really don't get why anyone would want to be out of popularity.

It's almost like BBQ is a perk that literally every killer has and is used to using. Doesn't mean it's one of the best perks. It's not even the best info perk.

BBQ isn't useless by any stretch, but there are a number of aura perks that are better, so I personally see no reason to run it.

I'm honestly curious how many killers don't know about the nerf (so they've kept it on not realizing they're not getting the BP bonus) or are like me where I just keep forgetting to swap it out when I switch killers out.

After the nerf, it has become a middle of the road perk for killers. It's not as awful as I expected it to be but there are much better perks to use over it now.

It's value is increased by less killers using it. Now that it's no longer quasi-mandatory more survivors probably feel comfortable, especially given gen duration nerfs, to avoid sitting in lockers like they used to.

Source: I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the locker achievement done.

I don’t think anyone ever said that. It was meta because it’s a decent perks AND it had the BP bonus. Nobody said it was meta only for the BP bonus.

Are you trying to argue that because you still see people use BBQ that it’s “meta” and thus needs a further nerf? OK 🙄

A killer that plans on camping wont bring bbq .... obviously

I very rarely see it, mostly only on killers who can immedietly capitalize on this information.

I have seen enough killers that camped to know this isn’t true… and as I said, some even use bbq as an excuse to camp.

Or just use Shadow Step and dance around as they still can't see your aura.

BBQ was always a solid perk, but the extra BP just pushed it over the edge in terms of usage. It is still a solid perk as its in-game applications didn't change.

Were Gonna Live Forever was only worth using when it had the BP bonus from doing the tasks outlined in it. Now that u don't get bonus bloodpoints from doing the tasks, there is no point to even using it cause before it was good for levelling characters and gave those who used it more incentive to actually unhook or protect survivors. They ruined that perk, there was no reason to take away the bloodpoint bonus from it and they should have left it the way it was. Where as BBQ & Chill is still useful to use on killers even with the Bloodpoint bonus gone.

An excuse to whom? Themselves? You dont need an excuse to camp, it doesnt need justification. Its easy and effective, basically a crutch.

Old BBQ was great because it created a minigame to get 4 hooks secured before "relaxing" and just killing them in any order.

With that mini-game gone, I am not saying I will tunnel you but I might

The aura reading is not worth the perk slot on its own but with Lethal Pursuer, it becomes a different beast. In general, it is best to combo perks that accomplish similar things now.

Bbq was used on most killers just for BP, aura was a bonus.

Bbq without bp is actually good only on 4 or 5 killers, everyone else has a better aura reading alternative.

They did a player survey a couple oft months ago and there were questions regarding BBQ and WGLF. Why one would use it. Apparently the majority of the players who did the survey said "because oft the BP bonus".

I hope the community learned their lesson on how to answer these surveys.

But yeah, seeing the auras of the survivors is actually good information to me, so I use it in some killers still.

I agree with Behavior on this one. No idea why people are still running it. If they want to gut it, I would not even mind. That perk is dead to me. Make it so that it only shows their auras if they are not moving. Lol.

They didn't say BBQ was only meta because of the BP, they said they don't want a perk being ran every match as a way to reduce the grind.

Currently BBQ is still extremely good on a select few killers, decent enough on most although there's probably a better aura option for them, and fairly useless on a few of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed BBQ since they nerfed Self-Care and Calm Spirit

BBQ isn't meta (and realistically never was). The info is mediocre at best

I´ll never understand how survivors are against a perk, that gives the killer an incentive to leave the hook.

Do you want to get camped or not?

Personally I'm shocked and appalled by killers bringing 3 slowdowns and an aura perk instead of 4 slowdowns 😡

They dont think that. They just removed the BPs because they dont want BPs to be the reason why players picks Perk XYZ. That BBQ still was more than just Extra-BP is well known.

I run this perk on some killers till now, for example on The Dredge, The Onryo or on Freddy. All 3 have the ability to teleport (to different locations), so it is a very nice way to know where to go.

In an upcoming patch, I assume the BP-Bonus will be removed from Prove Thyself too.
