Are there any wraiths that don't camp and tunnel?

I don't think I've ever seen one.

One or two might exist in another dimension. The Wraith is a well-known camper and tunneler but then again, seeing more and more of them with other characters.

Wraiths always camp and tunnel and 500% they're using noed.

Not any more since his speed buff out of stealth was rolled back and CoH was introduced. No, for real, this killed his entire "hit and run" playstyle and he got no teeth if you play him conservatively.

It's part of the user agreement to camp and tunnel when you play Wraith. Also, if you equip frosty eyes, they won't show up if you don't have NOED equipped as well.

    True story.

Yeah here is a wraith main that never camps or tunnels.

The bad news is that I've left this game a month after MMR was implemented.

Don't compare me with other wraiths please πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚

I never camped or tunnelled, also never run noed πŸ˜‰

Pfft NOED is for amateurs these days. The correct play is to get to the necessary distance for either Devour Hope or Make Your Choice to activate and then rush back over like an invisible Usain Bolt.

I prefer not to camp on my Wraith, but when the survivors are hook swapping like whoa I'll oblige. Camping usually defeats the purpose unless you're going against a bully SWF. Better to keep two survivors busy by running to the hook/unhooking/healing while you chase down and hook another survivor.

Tunneling is similar as it may be effective at times it's largely a waste of time. Giving the survivor time to heal up nets you another full set of hit/surprise/found points off of them, and time to kick gens or find another survivor.

With the recent perk rework there's not a significant advantage to running NOED, particularly on a killer that has both speed and stealth. Better to throw in a slowdown or info perk instead to keep the trial from reaching the point that NOED would be useful.

Some Wraiths don't camp or tunnel, and they are glorious.

They are rare though. Like unicorns.

... I shouldn't make fun of them, a Wraith was pretty nice to my teammates and I the other day when he saw he had us all on death hook with 3 gens remaining.

Nah I use Windstorm Wraith with Make Your Choice.

It's savage, but it's by definition not camping or tunneling.

Well I play a ton of wraith and I don't camp and rarely tunnel, (only when a survivor just keeps showing up xD)

I never use noed on any killer, so I mostly play wraith with silent bell, purple all seeing, pain resonance, bamboozle, undying and devour hope. This is actually one of my strongest games.

Also run a lot of serpent and shadow dance with pain resonance, bamboozle, enduring and spirit fury. Very fun, just not as effective against really skilled players.

I don't but I see a lot that do. I play Gentleman Wraith and only kill if everyone is on 2 hooks and always give the last (or more) hatch/escape. If someone is obviously new (failing skill checks often, running too much, being easy to find) I generally give them a break. Played him a lot during the masquerade (and also because he looked the part) and let everyone go for that because they needed to leave with the mask.

However Wraith isn't in my top 3 played killers anymore.

On playing survivor though yes I absolutely agree. 95% of wraiths camp and tunnel because it's really easy to do it with them since you don't know where Wraith is and it's efficient to boot. Simple math tells you that 3 survivors are easier to beat then 4 which is why tunneling is such an issue. Another thread titled it and it's accurate. It's really on BHVR to deal with camping and tunneling because the way the game is structured, it's simply the most efficient way to win.

However there was another gentleman Wraith I came across not that long ago who hooked everyone twice and then just rang the bell constantly following people everywhere but never doing anything harmful.

I think that when I play the wraith, the thing that I'm most happy about is that I'm not taking NOED, and I'm thinking that at least I'm making this killer look better πŸ€—

Because yeah, it's boring to think that in 99% of the games against a wraith, he'll get NOED ... πŸ™„

Can't they win? Without? Is it that important? I don't know, it's beyond me... πŸ˜‘

If regular wraiths (and who use NOED) come by, I'd be interested to know why this skill is so much part of their DNA...πŸ˜‰

I had a wraith camp me other day, and didn't even bother to cloak, just straight up stood there looking around for incoming survivors haha

Thats why they do it even in games without COH? And were doing it years before COH even existed?

There are a few of us, but going up against one is always a risky lottery situation. Also the most likely Killer to have NOED.

Most Wraiths I come across don't camp, and with Kindred becoming more common, it doesn't really help them.

I mean a weaker killer like wraith probably needs it.

I do not camp or tunnel when I play as wraith, but I do bring pretty nasty stuff

    silent bell + all seeing

starstruck - this plus all seeing is so evil

spirit fury - exposed people will waste pallets even against wraith

nurse calling - that silent bell value when you down a self caring caludette

devour hope - As long as they do not find it

Based on the sample size of the 4 wraiths I just faced, there is a 100% chance of camping.

I never claimed that camping and tunneling as wraith didnt exist before CoH, nor that its presence in a match is what assures it. Just that its introduction as a concept made it so that every attempt at a hit and run playstyle now has a disproportionate chance of being entirely nullified due to the existence of a single perk.
