Omg I thought of this and this is op as heck…
So, I am a plague and Freddy main. For this revolves around plague. I’ve been using meta builds (such as pop, ruin undying…) on plague before the perk changes. After the update, I’ve been using slowdown perks. Recently, I thought of this build and it is so op. I will explain the build after. So here is the build, seeking for feedback:
-Devour Hope
-Plaything
-Pentimento
-Thanatophobia
First of all, the combo of Devour Hope, Plaything and Pentimento forces survivors to choose. Since plague is a killer who needs to adapt her play style to the survivors’ play style (cleanse or not cleanse), this build works especially well on her. With Devour Hope, it is one of the most powerful but inconsistent hexes in the game. With Pentimento, if the survivors cleanse Devour, you will be able to get value of slower gen speed. If they don’t, well, they’re literally finished. With Plaything, whether Devour is up or not, it is a strong perk on killers such as Plague. Plaything also provides the value of deception. There are 5 totems in the trial. With Devour+4 Plaything, all 5 totems will be hexes. Once Devour manages to survive and reaches 3 stacks, survivors will try to search madly for the totem. If the survivors are not swf, they will panic and will be very likely to cleanse other teammates’ Playthings (because you can’t see other’s Playthings for like 90 seconds after Plaything activates). As they survivors cleanse hexes, whether it be Devour or Playthings, you will definitely get Pentimento value. If they boon the totems, against Plague that is useless, so it’s even better. This combo of 3 perks is already very ######### up. With Thanatophobia, it is just to further punish non-cleansing survivor teams. I understand that the 52% gen slowdown along with the 90 seconds gen speed will be very annoying for survivors, but this is from a killer’s POV.
Excited to get feedbacks.

Plaything + Penti are the best pair of Hex. Survivors tend to cleanse Hex anyway, so Haunted Ground works better than Devour Hope.

Slowdowns stack multiplicatively so thana and penti together are 45.4% slowdown.
Also yeah people have already figured this out. Some of those numbers need to go down a bit to reflect the new gen times.
I thought the whole point of the base gen time increase was to not make slowdown neccecary and not make it more powerfull

I'd say you should use Third Seal instead of Devour Hope. There is no point of having 3 stacks if they are already full infected, and if they are cleansing you can use your power to get easy downs.
With Third Seal you can delay the cleansing if you are lucky and maybe get some scare jump.

The reason I didn’t put Haunted Grounds in there is because then you can only get max 3 survivors affected by Plaything, so the perk wouldn’t be at its max potential. Also Plague is not a killer who benefit from insta down too much.

There are 2 Dulls become 2 Hexes when using HG. If survivors cleanse 1 of them, HG activated, the other Hex become Dull. You still have chance to use 4 Plaything.
Unless you get 4 down before HG is cleansed, its a win anyway.

I thought blindness only affected aura reading and not delaying the cleansing and oblivious???

Hmm yea. Maybe I'll try HG. But I prefer Devour on Plague. Maybe because of Otz's clutch with Plague with that perk in comp lol.

If they can't se auras they can't see the aura of the totem that makes them oblivious. Otherwise they'll see it within 24m :)

Does Third Seal affect seeing your Plaything's aura ?
If so then that's op as well.

Of course it does.

Nah, as a survivor, Haunted Ground doesn't bother me. Devour Hope, on the other hand, can be crippling.

Depends, DH has higher risk of being found and cleanse right away. HG is possible to get a hook or two consistently.
If HG Hexes are in hard to find place, it may work while Plaything actives for easy down.

I've just never had a problem with HG as a survivor. Like, never.

But don’t we sorta want them to cleanse Plaything because of Pentimento? Pentimento is much more powerful than Plaything.

I love Devour Hope -and it would work so well with the build. Plague is not great with HG, so I scraped that idea.

Better than someone running into my face because they don't actually know where I am? Or even get some grabs of people doing gens or cleansing totems?
That's a free hook and a hook still keep survivors busy.
I'm playing this build as Pinhead and it's even better. Not only they have to worry about their totems but also they can't find them, neither the cube. So usually the game snowballs as you get free chain hunts.

Just letting you know that Third Seal doesn't work with any killer related power items (Pig Traps, Plague Fountains, Cenobite's cube) unless you were talking about his iri add on.

Yeah, I’ve also experienced this build with Pinhead, feels good. Never tried with Plague but it’s always nice to get builds you enjoy. If you wanna keep DH then just do it, I don’t always get value but when I do start executing survivors, I can feel the fear set in and the scramble begin.
Or the hopelessness and they just give up~

Oh I didn't know that. Thanks.

This is why the patch is ultimately bad for the game. If killers post-patch are going to run TWO slowdown perks, turning matches into super long unfun and almost guaranteed 4Ks, why play survivor?
No. Combos like this should be banned or the patch reverted.
