What's the point of solving Pinhead's box if the game doesn't let you?
Half the time I play against Pinhead I get stuck in a loop where chains keep hitting me and stopping me from solving the box. It becomes impossible. Seriously what is the point of the survivors being able to solve the box if you can't actually do it? There's no addon for it but it just keeps happening.

From what I've heard, when you pick up the box, you have to dodge three chains and then you should be able to solve it. I know there was a bug at some point that chains would continue to harass everyone when someone picked up the box, but that's how the mechanic should work.

How do you solve the box if the chains keep stopping you?

You dodge a wave (3 chains), and start working on it

What? Why doesn't it say that anywhere in the game? Are players just supposed to guess that?

I'm pretty sure it says that Survivors holding the box will get attacked by chains.
However, Killer Power descriptions never specify numbers, so yeah, Survivors are supposed to play against (or as) a Killer multiple times to learn how to counter them

Oh jeez what an awful design. I've been playing against Pinhead since he came out and I had no idea you had to dodge a specific number of chains in order for it to let you solve it. If you get hit by a chain does it reset the number? What if you break one of them on the environment, does the extra chain count?

If you get hit, you won't have time to break out and start working on it, you'll have to dodge another wave.
If you get hit and break a chain with the environment, you can start working on it but not exactly right after, as breaking a chain on the environment will "respawn" it, and you'll have to dodge that one aswell
