It's definetely not dead. And SoloQ isn't miserable. It's just to play the game you have to be pro-tournament player, that's all. The thing is, who would want to climb to that level and why it is only applied to one side 😉

From my own personal data set I've noticed it still being used and funnily enough, I never believe it when it works. I always just see the survivor get the endurance effect and my brain just forgets that Dead Hard gives endurance now.

The sheer number of times I have seen it used against me only to say "weird mettle of man play, but okay." Is hysterical.

majority of the time though i say confusingly "Was that DH" cause i really cant tell if its Dh or a really long Otr

People can just option select you at a pallet. If you hit them, they get the sprint burst off their Endurance, but if you wait too long to hit them, they drop the pallet on you as soon as their DH is over.

I've seen some REALLY good plays made by survivors running it against me. Since the update, I've gotten used to no longer trying to bait it, so when someone uses it well and then makes it to a safe loop/pallet/vault, I'm actually impressed. It definitely reuires a level of skill and timing it didn't before. It's a far cry from the "I completely got outplayed at that tile, but I'll hit 'E' and fix that mistake" the perk used to be.

"dead hard is trash now, at least give us back our e to win it you're gonna buff killers"

    - a not so lovely streamer I ran into

And yeah, the perk is not dead. But I am so happy that it is no longer busted op.

It's not dead, just hard now.

And that's not a bad thing. Alas, when I get hit by a well placed DH I don't die internally like before, I just accept that this was well played, maybe even salute that player internally, and play on.

I guess pure survivor mains can't fathom this feeling of liberation, this giant slap of stone that got taken from our broad, yet mangled killer backs.

Having a surv legit perfectly time my swing and get that protection never bothered me, and never will.

Survs hitting E to yeet themselves to a pallet or window when I was almost on them was disgusting OP, though.

Agreed, new DH actually feels fun on the killer side and I can respect a good play with it. My attitude when getting outplayed by new DH:

Against skilled players DH is worse than before, you (the killer) basically give the survivor a much more distance now

It's both a good perk and a fun perk to use

The most fun part is if survivors dap in front of you and you can strike them down afterwards :>

At least the usage of the perk is massly decreased, plus they cant DH over my Bear trap anymore.

If only they had this same idea all the way back in 2017...

Would have helped a lot, that is for sure.
