Dead Hard seems inconsistent

Hello everyone. I feel that dead hard is still a pretty decent perk. That said, sometimes I have noticed some weird behaviors from the perk, and want to ask weather someone else has noticed it and get some answers regarding the proper usage of the perk.

So, there are numerous times that even though I press the dead hard key, my character wont actually use dead hard. I end up down without ever triggering the perk. Is this because of ping? Does the hit validation come before the animation? It is extremely frustrating, even when you try to react, get bonked anyways.

Also, that forces me sometimes to use the perk earlier than i would to proactively escape a hit. The animation still goes on but it seems that it goes on longer than the invincibility frames. As a killer this is comedy gold, but as a user it makes me feel kind of trolled by the game itself, dabbing like that and getting karate chopped to the ground. Maybe this need some sort of fix? It throws me off a lot personally and i dont think i am the only one with this issue.

Anyways, please share if there are any other hidden mechanics with the perk (like that you cant stand still and dead hard any more) and share the knowledge for everyone to see. I don't mind switching to another perk but I would like my perks to be reliable.. I want them to feel reactive, i want them to not make me play around them and fizzling out when i need them.

Thanks a lot to whoever reads this,

Good day to you

Yea its happened to me too. Doesn't activate despite pressing it. I'm not sure if its a bug or has something to do with hit validation. But its happened numerous times.

As for the perk overall, I think its meant to be high risk high reward. Nothing at all like SB, Lithe or Balanced Landing which are pretty safe.

i wish there was some official answer on this matter because your playstyle is different based on your build. If my build is internally broken, maybe it would be good to know and switch over to something safer.

Imagine driving your car knowing that 1 out of 100 times the breaks wont engage. I wouldnt use that car xD
