DC penalties should be more punishable
Survivors keep disconnecting because they realized they couldn't bully the killer anymore so they ALT+F4.
Can we just give them a 24 or 48 hours timeout from the game if they disconnected 2 or 3 times within a month? Thanks.

No. There's too much hackers.

DC penalties do need to be more harsh, though then survivors will just kill themselves on hook instead.

Mad because killer queues are so long? I would be too.

I don't think all of the DCs are about not being able to bully the killer.
From my experience this past week, it's more about the games being near impossible to win when you go against a full slowdown killer that stacks bad manners as the cherry on top of an already ruined game.
I think the DC penalty is pretty fair. If someone is driven to DC from a game, then they wait a little bit. It'll s*ck a little for the other players, but then again, it s*cked enough for the DC-er to DC.
If bad manners don't put you on timeout, I don't think DC-ing should be more punishable.

You can't force people to play a game they don't want to. They'll AFK. They'll run at the killer. They'll sandbag. They'll locker spam. They'll keep exploding gens.
Fix.
The.
Underlying.
Unfun.
Aspects.

Give them these penalties and they’ll just suicide or throw the match instead. Nothing to do about it really

That seems pretty bullshit if you accidentally disconnect from say a console update or a power outage

😂 Nope I never bullied the killers. I hate toxic behavior in the game. I don't even teabag. I'll stick around at the gate to try and get a few more chase points but thats it.

I wouldn't mind at all at least they become meat bags and waste the killer's time.

This is not a competitive game, the minor DC penalty is already unusual.
If you want a game with forever-long DC penalties, play Gundam Battle Operation 2. Disconnect one time due to a power flicker? Enjoy not being able to play the game at all for 30 hours.

2 or 3 times within a month? What?!
You know this unoptimized mess of a game crashes, right? This game still gets the blue screen of death sometimes on PS4, and DbD can't tell the difference between a crash and a ragequit.
Since the mid-chapter update, the game has gotten the blue screen of death once and also froze up and then kicked me once (wasn't my internet, it was on DbD's end somewhere). That's twice just since the mid-chapter update.

You can very well force people to play a game, killers didn't really DC or afk pre patch because they were forced to stay in a match.

The current system is adequate, and not sure how a player who dc's because of an emergency at home will want to come back to a game that's so harsh.
Maybe they can bump up the timeout for consistent dc's in short succession, but again it could be seen as a bad connection (although I'd argue that maybe they ought to fix a connection that's that terrible).

I don’t know why so many killer mains want incentives to leave a hooked surv and not penalizations but they want penalizations for dc and not incentives to not do it

No
The disconnected from host error happens and you get penalized for it even though your network connection is working perfectly fine
Any comments of "Fix your internet" or "They can't tell the difference between..." will be disregarded

I have my share of random dc's in the game. I don't think there should be that severe of a penalty. People should not be forced to stay in a match they don't want to be in, and people do get the hiccups in the game once in a while. I have had my internet hiccup once or twice during a match and it dc's me. It is unavoidable.

I concur, and if 1 dcs everyone else should be able to without a penalty.

If I want out and I can't DC I'll kill myself on hook.
If I can't kill myself on hook cause the killer won't hook me I won't move so I get crows when they slug me. If they don't slug me I'll jump in and out of any locker nearby.
If you create an atmosphere where players feel like disconnecting, what are you doing?

While I got bullied a lot in the past, that assumption of yours, that the inability of bullying the killer leads to all the DCs we are witnessing, is a petty and unfair accusation and with high probability ultimately wrong.
Blanket accusations of vast swath of the player base (any games player base) never solved any problem, nor helped it in getting both sides to agree on anything. It just drives the wedge between the factions deeper.
That being said, the DC penalty probably stands in a good spot. Its not too trivial to not be a nuisance and escalates quickly enough to be detrimental if this is your only means of coping, while not punishment legit connection problems too harshly (and there are enough who got a 24h ban just because of the latter).

Ah yes when my power goes out randomly and comes back after ten minutes I would love to have a 24hr penalty thanks!

Oh you mean how they are doing it already?

If the game is unfun why are you even playing it? You are just making the experience worse for others and yourself.

Their teammates' game was probably already ruined because of the killer tunneling. We all know how matches where the killer tunnels go after this patch.

I didnt realize I was hacking when I got a down as Legion, but okay.

That wouldn't be fair to survivors at all. If I kill myself on hook, it's because the other 3 survivors that are with me aren't doing anything to help me there by giving me no other option.
Not gonna continue a match till it's done if noone on my survivor team is gonna unhook me cause they are too afraid to either man up or woman up against the killer and either rescue me from the hook or at least try to.
When ur teammates give u no other choice but to ######### on hook. U shouldn't be expected not to.

"and I personally like getting tunneled"

they can implement harsher dc penalties when they can differentiate between an actual intentional dc and a dc caused by external factors, otherwise, the penalties are fine as they are. or, dare i say it, they can remove them too considering nothing is being done about hackers or the state of the servers.

Or if your internet goes out. Or the game crashes.
Example:
July 10th - internet goes out for 5 minutes.
July 16th - Power goes out for an hour
July 29th - game crashes
Oops guess you should be banned for 24 hours cause you're clearly a problem.
1 -
I agree, the dc penalty should be a little higher.
0 -
That's why I said probably.
And you're lying to yourself now. I highly doubt you enjoy going down and getting hooked right after you got off of it.

No, I'm annoyed because it's bloody impossible to get a good game as survivor right now, as the first person to get downed immediately suicides or cable pulls.
Killer queues are actually normalizing, anyway. Back to nearly instant at certain times of day.
...Your team bodyblocks into OTR, killer ends up getting nothing?
OP is saying that people who routinely DC or suicide need a penalty.
Routinely.

No, because I'm playing solo queue. Maybe if I'm playing SWF, but if the killer wants you dead then you're gonna die.

Unfortunately, this game is not balanced around solo.
It...can't be.
Go grab some folks off the Discord. Super quick and easy.

No, they're not. They call for anyone who disconnects 2 or 3 times in a month to get a 24-48 hour ban. That's not routinely, especially since it doesn't take into consideration how much time you spend playing that month. Maybe in a different thread the idea proposed was reasonable, as there are many other threads, but not in this one.
