only 2 gen regress perks - opinios
So after the new patch gens take longer to complete, thanato is buffed and survivors constantly DC in my survivor matches. And yes and we mostly all die with only 1 or 2 gens completed.
So what do you think would happen if BHVR decided that killers can´t stack Pain Resonance, Thanato, Call of Brian, Pop, Overcharge, Ruin, Pentimento etc in their builds anymore but are restricted to taking max 2 gen perks and 2 perks of their choice like chase perks or any other perk.
I think with the new gen speeds and the still strong gen regression combos like Pop and Call of Brian or Overcharge killers would still be oppressive enough. And no, not every game is a sweaty 4 man with BNP.
I don´t want to complain about the new patch and I think the game will get less stressful with the next few balance patches but atm survivor doesn´t feel nice to play.
What do you think, let me know your opinions. I play mostly killer and even I think that stacking gen regression perks is too powerful right now.
Please stay constructive, I´m really interested in what you think ;)
Edit: I forgot some regression perks like Pentimento, Dying Light etc. but I refer to every regression perk generally no matter how strong or weak
Edit.2: yes, Corrupt Intervention should not be considered a gen regression perk, that one is on me ;)

Legit question: DO people still run pop after the nerf? I took it off nearly all of my builds. Not a fan of a perk that doesn't have a flat rate to it. Much happier with call of brine

PR is like 13 seconds regression now, works automatically and hits the gen with most progress.
Imo even as nerfed as it is, still basically the best regression perk.
But i can see something like CoB, Pop, Overcharge being pretty oppressive in certain situations if you can defend some gens well.

I think its worth a try. BHVR so far has put very few restrictions on builds, but I think in doing so they would open up more design space.
Smol caveat: I wouldn't group Corrupt Intervention together with the other perks you identified as gen regression perks. Corrupt is special in the way it slows down the start of the game and giving certain slower killers a bit of an opportunity to get their bearing, but it can't be compared to the likes of PainRes, Call of Brine or Overcharge.

4 gen perks are even necessary? I never felt the need for it. I usually use Thanato and Overcharge, even before the patch I used those. And for the remaining slots I use some useful stuff like Franklins or something else
So I'm fine with only 2 gen regress perks, I don't really think there was ever a need for more

Screw it why stop there, everyone gets 1 perk. Thats it done no more issues with stacking perks.
Oh wait no we have to have survivor categories so they dont stack either.
So 1 healer, 1 looper, 1 gen person, and 1 utility.
Also your item has to match your role
Healer - Medkit
Looper -Flashlight
Gen person - toolbox
Utility -Map/key

Me too, i use Pain Resonance and Jolt, the rest is chase perks (Save the Best, Brutal Strengh, Bambozzle) or Franklins and Hoarder on Pinhead

Works for me. I'm usually only running one, maybe two, anyway.

I don't know how this hasn't happened. Before the update I thought they should have done the same thing with second chance perks too. That way you wouldn't end up in games with BT, DH, DS, and Unbreakable.

Perks that slow down or automatically block generators tend to be stronger than regression simply because for regression to really work you need to be able to defend that particular gen. Where regression becomes truly powerful is when it's used strategically to defend critical generators in the middle of the map and work towards a 3gen. Thus, in my opinion it's more efficient to run /one/ regression perk + automatic blocking or slowdowns.
Call of brine + no way out + a killer specific perk + an aura reading perk is my go to if I want to play """""""""""""""""competitively""""""""""""", for example.

The issue with this is that the killer cannot have limitations on their builds because they can only bring 4 perks, 2 addons and an offering.
Surviors have 16 perks, 4 items with addons and 4 offerings.
It is very easy for survivors to put on prove thyself and split up on gens. The killer is only 1 player on their own while the other side is 4 on a team with the same goal.

Not a problem with my suggestion

Gen regression perks never really fit my play-style. I’ve always preferred aggressive chase builds with some info perks sprinkled in like Enduring/Sprit Fury with STBFL and Infectious for example. I’ve tend to lean on downs and pressuring survivors as my only real gen defence because I don’t like dragging games on with gen regression perks. Especially with the nerf to survivors hit burst and the buff to killer cooldowns I’ve had way more 4ks with Pig at 4-5 gens which is a little silly. Obviously I’m far more likely to get flattened when it’s a full coordinated team and not soloQ or whatever but still..
If you swap in perks like Brine, surge, pain res etc on a mobile killer then the survivors are likely going to run out of resources way before they can finish all 5 gens. As a survivor whenever I’ve faced stacked gen defence perks, unless someone is marathon looping I usually just say screw it and try to get chased as much as possible so if the others want to sit on gens forever then knock yourselves out lol. I’ve had games where the gen is hit by surge then that survivor is hooked and that same gen is hit with pain res.. then a Doctor comes over with overcharge and brine for good measure😂 F that.
I also haven’t seen much talk about this but the bloodlust changes.. I legitimately thought BHVR would eventually be moving towards removing it entirely but instead did the complete opposite and now I’m getting an undeserved boost 10 seconds into chasing a survivor. I think it’s overkill tbh but that’s just my opinion.

I'd prefer if all generator altering perks and items were deleted and we got a base line generator speed that can't be altered in any way.
That's not gonna happen though, so if you limit slowdown perks to 1 or 2 they have to be strong enough on their own.

IMO slowdown perks should be limited to 1 or the gen speeds need to be returned to what they were before the patch. The end.

I think It could be worth testing. Not something you know the strength of til they try.

yes absolutely! Stacking perks that give the same benefit over and over are not limited to killers only ;)

For highmobility killers - pop, COB.
For "Trappers" (low mobility) - Pain res, Jolt.
