You know why the ones who are sabotaging matches will not have 6.1.x reverted?
Because bending to blackmail validates its use and makes it an effective way to control you.
The better solution is to put measures in place to limit the nuisances.
---- edit ----
Some precision for anyone who jumps the gun without thinking rationally. (Like if using emotions was thinking at all)
Any assumption of anything more that I've written there are your own projections.
To avoid some ridiculous replies, I've put a later comment here to make it easy for the emotionally inclined:
- It's very clear it's only a minority, as most players are part of "the entire survivor population". I may have played more survivor than killer myself these last couple of weeks (solo).
- Who is talking about a conspiracy? I'm not at an age one watches streamers, only some YT videos at best. I have virtually no interest for most entertainers so imagine for kids playing games.
- It only needs a few jerks with that stupid idea that ruining games will get the changes reverted. They don't need to coordinate, they only need to believe the same idiocy.
Also, blackmail is used here as a concept, a poetic license if you will. I could have used "extortion", "intimidation", "exaction", ... If it's all your take on this, have a nice day.

What this about?

Are we talking about the dc's, that might also be done to inflate kill rates?
Not sure if I would call something like that blackmailing.
Even though there might be some survivor players that are actually doing this to inflate kill rates, I have a very hard time believing that more than only a very small fraction of people are doing this with that intention.
The new patch just caused some serious issues that need to be resolved. That's what the devs really need to understand. It has nothing to do with bending to blackmail.
The killer buffs were all great, but sadly, they caused other parts of the game to become very problematic. 90 second gen times are fantastic, but only without slowdown perks that are very strong in addition to the 90 second gens. Thana and Pentimento in particular are a serious problem. Pentimento increased gen times to 114 seconds before the patch, and in my eyes, was already a bad perk design wise because it's harsher on solo survivors than on swf survivors. Now it increases gen times to 128 seconds. That's just ridiculous for one single perk. And it gets even worse when coupled with Thana. And maybe even Gift of Pain. Increasing gen times to 150+ seconds. Who the hell wants to play against that?
Camping and tunneling are also more of an issue than they have ever been. At least for many people. And it's no wonder, pretty much nothing was done about tunneling, and camping was actually buffed.
These issues need to be resolved. I can just pray they will actually address these issues, and not just revert some of the killers buffs, like the 90 second gens, because then we are just back to square one.

There is zero way people are that coordinated.
It's a joke that ANYONE believes that the entire Survivor population is somehow DC'ing en masse to blackmail BHVR into reverting the patch.
Actual clownery.

the dc decrease the kill rate, because devs don’t use dc games in statistics.

Who the heck startet this conspiracy theory?
19 -
I agree with you Pulsar but you have to admit the suicide hooks and DCs are getting problematic. I do think some of them are doing it to inflate kill rates like with Spirit, remember just before her Nerf alot of players were reporting that survivors were dying on first hooks.
Now mind you that's all speculation and no real proof that it happened to cause her Nerf or it was just a coincidence.
Even if all this is random acts of baby-ism it still will affect kill rates (minus the DCs since those are not tallied in kill rates)
All that being said....I think alot of survivors are overreacting a tad bit. Yes I agree the DS stun of 3 secs was much I would just be happy it not activate after doors are powered like it is now.
The Gen times are not as bad as people say I was able to do 3 gens by myself with Thanta slowing us down. The issue I saw was in most cases no one healed and most games was NOT against a Vommy Mommy or Legion. If I didn't care more about my teammates getting healed I probably would of got all gens repaired....but not escape because of them refusing to heal. In some of those matches it was against Oni.....

According to a Coconut video, it seems like Otz actually posted such a claim. Not sure if he started it though.
4 -
Ah ok.
I have seen the tweet, but since it started with "Tinfoil DBD conspiracy of the day", I thought that it was obvious sarcasm.
10 -
That’s not what blackmail means lol
4 -
I can't even get a coordinated solo queue team. Imagine implying the entire survivor population is somehow coordinating an attack against this patch.
10 -
Most of my soloQ teamates are DC / or suiciding. Almost every game, it’s the reality not a conspiracy.
1 -
I don't think there some mass coordinated blackmail but so survivors started killing themselves to inflate the kill rates and some more people heard and started and so on tell you have a decent group doing it.
0 -
That's not them blackmailing bhvr that's just solo queue being awful. Like that was the exact pre-patch experience too.

Here we go with our tinfoil hat again.

It's because a certain extremely popular streamer made this claim for whatever reason. Now everyone is parroting it. He really opened up a can of worms with the comment. Everywhere I go there are people repeating this ridiculous idea.
4 -
First time I saw it mentioned on this forum it was a killer who made the claim, but then did a follow up post saying they changed their mind and feel bad for suggesting it. Apparently they started messaging DCing survivors and asking why they did it, and they found nothing to suggest it was an attempt to raise kill rates
0 -
also the fact that the devs have never once reverted a patch in the game's entire lifespan
if they didn't revert Binding of Kin or RE despite those patches breaking the game and rendering it almost unplayable, they won't revert 6.1.0

Tell me where I said anything of the sort. Take a step back and think.
It's very clear it's only a minority, as most players are part of "the entire survivor population". I may have played more survivor than killer myself these last couple of weeks.
All it needs is a few jerks with that stupid idea that ruining games will get the changes reverted. They don't need to coordinate, they only need to believe the same idiocy.

That's why I always play the fair and cuddly killer so that the kill rate drops... muahaha!
1 -
It's kind of nice to see a rational view of the issue.
Pre-patch, the matches with one AFK survivor were pretty rare. With two or three, several times a day? When survivor queues aren't ten minutes long anymore? It's not like before.
You may actually be into something. If it's indeed a running hypothesis, it may have influenced some to do it ... especially if there is some popular streamer talking about it.
1 -
This is just silly. Maybe, just maybe survivors are leaving games because survivor is terrible at the moment? It's not to change the kill rates. People are just tired of dealing with all the nonsense in the game since the patch released.
6 -
Indeed, you are right. The term we are looking for here is extortion.

Devious!

Not really:
extortion
/ɪkˈstɔːʃ(ə)n,ɛkˈstɔːʃ(ə)n/
noun
- the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats.

People are dcing/giving up for the same reason they always did, they're just ragequitting like I'm sure even people in ancient times did by flipping the table when they realized they were losing the Game of Ur or whatever they were playing.
or
They're doing it with some kind of long-term motive, either delusional enough to think their personal contribution would have any sort of noticable impact (as said, delusional) or it's some kind of coordinated leaderless scheme (ridiculous enough to cause a worldwide tinfoil shortage)
Damn this one is hard, might have to use a lifeline and call my pal Occam to hear if I can borrow his razor real quick.
1 -
No one's trying to get anything from anyone by DCing. People are simply not happy with the game and they leave because they're not enjoying it. Should they play something else instead and avoid ruining others' game experience? SURE. Do they have a terrorist organization trying to boicot the game and increase kill rate figures? No...

Sweet conspiracy theory.

"Pre-patch, the matches with one AFK survivor were pretty rare. With two or three, several times a day? When survivor queues aren't ten minutes long anymore? It's not like before."
Honestly outside of quicker queue times during the night (my day survivor queues were already instant) I really haven't noticed a difference. Someone throwing every game pre-patch, someone throwing every game post-patch.
0 -
I've seen survivors dc or kill themselves on hook first down after something they did wrong or even with 2 gens left and it was there first down and the killer wasn't camping or anything I've also seen it as the killer.
There's no reason for a survivor to DC or kil themselves there first down or the first down.
0 -
Some people will rage quit. This happened before the patch. It's not to mess with kill rates and hoping they revert the changes.
0 -
The post started with tinfoil dbd conspiracy? Because if so, I am actually relieved. Otz isn't the person I would expect to actually believe something like that.
0 -
I fail to see how the practice of DCing and mass suiciding on hook wouldn't apply IF there actually was a concentrated and organized effort to do so. This players would try to force BHVR by the threat of ruining the game and making it unplayable to roll back the changes of 6.1.x
1 -
It's not a threat or by force.
It could be considered manipulation, but I think this whole situation is more conspiracy than anything made by some well known streamers.

But jokes aside I think my response to Pulser up top is the best view of what's going ATM
1 -
Yes it dud happen before the patch but it has increased. Again I don't there's some crazy conspiracy more of a monkey see monkey do situation.
1 -
The amount of survivors disconnecting to "sabotage matches" or "send a message" has to be less than 0.1% of disconnects.
The rest are thinking nothing other than "F THIS GAME" or "Someone else already DC'd or gave up on hook and I want to go next."
It's as simple as that.
1 -
My argument is, the nurse is the most hated killer in history, yet she has the lowest kill rate, she'd have the highest if survivors were truly doing this.
3 -
They did with Spirit, remember? Her first nerf was because survivors just mass dc'ed against her.
0 -
Yea I'm sure it had nothing to do with her having 0 counter which was still present after her first nerf.
1 -
It was mostly because of one of her add-ons completely removing her counterplay.
0 -
Why would you think that? Look how long they sat on their hands for a multitude of issues in the game. God loops are a good example. What seems more likely. A broken addon, or players mass dc'ing against a certain killer? At least, going off of BHVR's track record. Fixing her for an addon would make sense, but these devs don't make a lot of sense going off their history.
0 -
Literally the most hated killer in the game (Nurse) has the lowest kill rate, that's proof enough that survivors aren't doing anything to manipulate kill rates, they could literally force her to have a 75% kill rate of they died on hook but they don't.
It's just as likely killers are playing survivor because their queues are so long and intentionally throwing matches to make survivors look bad.
