Should more people run borrowed time?
Since camping the hook seems to be much more prevalent especially since no one takes borrowed time anymore (and not everyone runs off the record).

Probably not. If a survivor is worried about being tunneled then it should be on them to use a perk slot to help them deal with it.
5 -
I dont think tunneling is a one survivor problem and actually an issue for the whole team
3 -
BT is your only hope in end game now.
9 -
Like I said, if a survivor knows they have problems with getting tunneled and being able to get to safety then they should put on OTR instead of relying on a teammate who may not have problems being tunneled to waste one of their perk slots on BT for them.

I don’t think so, they can run OTR if they want more time. I’m not wasting one of my slots for it when others won’t run it for me probably.
2 -
How is it a survivors problem when a killer decides to tunnel, I dont get this logic? if two survivors has BT not everyone needs to waste a slot on OTR. Killers just wait 4 secs and tunnel people directly. All I am saying is that it would help with the tunneling.

Borrowed Time: the 2nd most used perk in the game.
Meta Perk Overhaul kills off 7 (actually 9) killer perks and 6 (actually 4) survivor perks
BT's big change?
Invulnerability buffed by 50% bonus duration AND +7% run speed (faster than the killer) for the full duration.
ShOuLd PeOpLe RuN bT?
Yes.
Yes, everybody should be running BT.
There is zero reason why you're not running BT. It was already the 2nd best in the game and now it's even better.
Run BT.

I'm a team player unless my teammates are potatoes or trolls and I always run BT because it gives the unhooked person a chance at playing just a little longer. I even take a hit for them so as to get the killers attention in hopes of preventing them from tunneling. I would like teammates to do the same for me.
2 -
It's only a survivor problem if a killer tunnels. It doesn't hurt the killer any unless they don't understand when to abandon a chase.
Let me put it this way, let's say I run SB or Lithe and OTR and I'm confident in my ability to get to safety and loop a killer. Why should I be expected to give up one of my last 2 perk slots to use on a survivor that isn't as good in chases but selfishly decides to run other perks that won't help them in that situation?
The expected handholding for mediocre survivors has gotten out of hand.
1 -
The problem is that next to nobody is running it anymore
0 -
Nope i will run OTR because even before patch i would always have to wonder if the person unhooking me had BT or not and the number of times i got unhooked with no BT in front of the killer was substantial. Now i can protect myself and dont have to worry about getting hook farmed.
1 -
Who is talking about holding hands? Im just asking if more people should run BT. Im not asking for buff? The fact is that the killer easily down people after 5 secs, and thats not a time waste for killers especially if he can have 3 survivors left at 3-4 gens.
0 -
It's hand holding if your teammates have to bring a perk to save you because you can't deal with being tunneled and refuse to run OTR so you can run other perks. It's even more of a problem when you consider the fact OTR is better than BT by far.
0 -
Ah yes, teamwork is handholding :). I just dont get this mentality
0 -
Handholding = teamwork, I see.

4 BTs are better than 4 OTRs. No killer is waiting 15 sec anyway, let alone 80. And it works in endgame.
But that's really not as feasible for soloq, who are put into a prisoner's dilemma when picking perks.
1 -
This is a great microcosm of why Solo Q is in the state it's in. People don't want to play as if they're on a team because they automatically expect that their team mates will let them down. It's a self-fulfilling prophesy.
Then, when the four people who refuse to be a team get killed and the four people on a discord call team gets away every time, the cry of "solo Q buffs PLS" goes out anew.
It's a TEAM GAME.
Run TEAM PERKS.
Run BT.
0 -
If the basekit BT isn't enough, just use OTR in soloQ, unless you trust randoms with your life.
0 -
This isn't talking about teamwork. This is expecting others to run an inferior perk to help you with being tunneled because you refuse to use the superior OTR. It would be teamwork if this was discussed and planned, but expecting more people to run BT for you so you can run 4 perks other than OTR is needing your hand held.
0 -
Absolutely yes.
Signed, a killer who never tunnels anyway.
0 -
Yeah, I think some people think that the basekit BT was supposed ot replace regular BT, but I think it is best used to supplement it.
Basekit BT + BT is > Old BT
1 -
I really dont get your mentality, either more people run OTR or more people run BT which is more superior, because you help 3 people instead of only yourself. So you can equip BT to help your whole team and thereby increasing your own chance to survive. Thats why I personally run BT even in solo queue
0 -
It really shouldn't, what should happen is that the base endurance and haste status effect duration should be increased, to 10 seconds or so.
1 -
And that would be a great solution if everyone ran BT, which wasnt even the case pre patch, and i cant help 3 people if they arent running BT and unhooking me in front of the killer.
With OTR instead when i get unhooked if the killer is coming back i can walk away while the person who unhooks runs away i can hide with no sound and the killer can chase the scratchmarks because he doesnt hear me so i can stay alive to help the team even when they are being dumb.
0 -
Unless you've talked beforehand you have no idea what they're running so BT may be redundant.
What happens when the survivor gets unhooked and outlasts the BT timer before the killer gets a hit? They're just as screwed as if you didn't have it at all, minus the small speed boost. It's highly unlikely they'd outlast OTR, and if they do then they succesfully ran the killer long enough to give their team a massive advantage.
0 -
Yes I do agree, but I think the tunneling has become worse, because less people actually use BT and/or not enough people are running OTR.
1 -
I keep hearing that but havent actually experienced it myself, but with survivor queues so short i also care less.
0 -
I dont get it, why do you care less? Its just a should survivors use BT more often or not question.
How can it be redundant? Does OTR disable if you mend after getting hit with BT?
0 -
I care less because when 1 match is over i just go to the next one which takes at most 1 min 10 sec instead of several minutes thanks to reduced queue times.
0 -
You can certainly can play more matches if the queue times and matches are shorter.
0 -
Yeah, honestly people complaining about how basekit BT is worthless and solo queue tunneling is out of control but who also aren't running BT with it don't make sense to me.
Stacking BT with basekit BT just seem like the obvious thing to do, especially in solo queue. It's especially necessary in egc where it can be the difference between getting out or dead.
My other surv load out has changed, but BT is till entrenched in all my builds.
1 -
I hope more people will do so!
0 -
In a perfect world they would, and if that ever happens I will gladly jump on the train, until then OTR for the win.
0 -
I run it because it's literally the only thing the Devs haven't destroyed that can truly help team mates in the end game.
0 -
Old BT was pretty good and now it's even better. 15 seconds of endurance and haste? That's some good stuff, you can take it even farther with guardian and NOLB so now your teammates are 14% faster after unhook and 21% faster at the end game. Run perks like these and I guarantee you your teammates will be lining up to give you kisses and hugs in the end game chat.
