I want to put this into perspective...
With current Thana, if Legion injures the four of you, and you power through 5 gens injured, they'll have gotten 125 seconds from it. Granted, this is without other slowdowns but I want you to keep this in mind.
Pain Switch does two things. Regress and block.
The regression is around 13 seconds worth. So 13+30 means you'll have been given 43 seconds as killer from a single hook, more than two pre-nerf Pops. The kicker is that if you're Artist or a high-mobility killer such as Dredge or Range Nurse, you can block two gens. Maybe even 3. That ups from 43 to (collectively) either 73 or 103 seconds from a single hook.
So Thana, a perk that's really niche and only good on two killers? OP, it needs to be nerfed. This abomination of a combo that got removed because it was problematic? Bring it back!
Edit:
I thought this went without saying but I'll explain this too. People say, "Thana needed the nerf cuz of Legion/Plague!"
Did it need a change? Yes. Is this it? No. HARD No.
Do you think this is gonna stop those two from using it? No. Legion can use Legion Pin and break you, and Plague is Plague. You're eating that 20%. The change does nothing to the two killers people ACTUALLY hate it on, but nerfs it on everyone else it was mediocre on.
And, honestly, I find it very hypocritical to nerf Thana when you're bringing back THIS abomination.

I'm not a huge fan of seeing PR/DMS come back either, but I don't think we gain anything from pretending that Thana didn't warrant being nerfed specifically and explicitly because of how obnoxious it can be on those two killers.

Not only that, I'm fairly certain that the effect they brought back DMS/PR to prevent (20 seconds of Merciless Storm) can still happen with Jolt. So it was an entirely pointless thing to bring back.

Pain Resonance and Dead Mans was an issue because even when you were aware of it and how to counter it, the killer could still force you off the gen. Now you just need to stand up before the hook and you are good, only good killers will know which gen you are on.

They could have handled the Thanatophobia nerf differently, but it was a point of frustration and so change was warranted.
Bringing back the Pain Resonance and Dead Man's Switch combo? Pretty bizarre.

Well, it just brings the power of sabo up. No Scourge Hook, no problem.

Except it didn't. Now Thana is only usable on those two killers.
People don't like cleansing against Plague and Legion has Legion Pin to break you. You're still gonna hate Thana on them.

I mean if you physically move to a gen to block it dms is basically doing nothing because that gen was not going to get done anyway.
Dms +PR was great because it was basically automatic and you didnt have to do anything.
Dms will continue being a very hard to balance perk because it will elevate to S tier any perk that automatically interrupts gens on hook, even if that perk has 0 regression.

I agree it’s overnerf.

Thana was already meaningfully only usable on those two killers.
One guy heals right now, it lowers the overall slowdown from max stacks by 5.5%. One guy heals after this change, it lowers the overall slowdown from max stacks by 14%. Legion and Plague will still get use from it, but countering it will no longer be an uphill struggle as maximum slowdown will only be present in bursts.
Even if you're right (you're not) how on earth does that translate to it not needing to be nerfed...? If it's still obnoxious and annoying after the change, that means it was obnoxious and annoying before the change, which means that it obviously warranted addressing?

And i do mean that literally, i would still run DMS+PR if the combo still worked with 0% regression PR

I'm not arguing thana didn't need a change (See above edit). What I will argue is that this change is asinine when you're bringing back THIS abomination of a combo.

Ah, gotcha- understood.
You are still wrong, though, as this does address that obnoxiousness since only one guy needs to heal now, not everyone. One guy healing is not going to be hard to achieve even for disorganised solos, and even if it is... once one guy dies you will be incapable of reaching max slowdown, assuming I understand the description right. Any way you slice it, this curtails Thana Legion and Plague hard.
Even still, I also think it's kind of irrelevant to compare the two. Bringing back PR/DMS is unfortunate regardless of what other suspect changes are being made.

I have never seen this combo in action, left the Fog before it became a thing.
However...from what I have heard, it sounds absolutely atrocious to play against it.
I am not sure why they are bringing it back. There are countless things that should be brought back, but this is not one of them.

At least people will now wanna heal again a Legion, which was pretty rare in the past, when survs would just stay injured the whole trial and just accepted the occasional kiss with the dagger.

Do you think this is gonna stop those two from using it? No. Legion can use Legion Pin and break you, and Plague is Plague. You're eating that 20%. The change does nothing to the two killers people ACTUALLY hate it on
This new version is definitely also weaker on Legion and Plague
- In the late game, after a survivor is eliminated and they're in a 3v1, Thana's new penalty cap drops from 20% to 6%. Compare that to the current version which goes from 22% to 16.5%. This will make pushing through to finish the last gen in a 3v1 against Legion/Plague with Thana noticeably less onerous.
- While Legion and Plague can pretty easily keep 3 people injured while all four are alive, keeping 4 people injured isn't as easy as some people think. What happens more often is, for instance, Legion fluctuates between have 4 survivors injured and 3 injured in the early and midgame, simply by virtue of someone probably being out of Legion's terror radius during a given Frenzy and having a chance to heal. And if even one survivor is healed that shreds the penalty from 20% to 6% (compared to the 22% to 16.5% range it currently experiences). Plague probably keeps all four injured longer, but even she has periods where eventually someone Cleanses and then that Thana penalty will shoot down.
So while Legion and Plague players will probably still use Thana, there's still no doubt that this is nerfing them.

Basically every second killer is running Thana these days, while before it was just those two at all. Maybe thats reason enough to undertand that something wrong.

well DMS switch is getting nerfed because survivor can let go of generator when you hook, so the gen explodes, than survivor go back on gen and by the time you walk to gen, 15 seconds passed. so now dead man switch has only 15 seconds left.
one of skills of using dead man switch was blocking gens and letting the survivor sit there with a blocked gen while pressuring other survivors. some survivors might switch to another gen but the slowdown has always been done by the fact that survivor is now walking to other gens or waiting for full 30 sec of remaining timer to work on it again.
now with reduced timer of 30 secs, you only need wait 10-15 sec so the slowdown has been weakened so dramatically if the survivor counter-plays it properly. all this assumes you have info perk like BBQ since pain res doesn't give info anymore. the change prevent you from using the perk because survivor can now sit there waiting for gen to unblock so you might as just chase them now instead of pressuring two survivors at once. another silly change that might kill the perk.

The new Thana is more useful on Legion and Plague... they shot themselves in the foot to kill a mosquitoe
I don't like the Gen changes so why didn't revert that?

I don't think you fully absorbed what I said, before they took away the notification on PR there was almost no counter-play to the combo. Now there is.

Just remove slowdown perks. I don't want to be required to use situational perks based on luck or survivor mistakes anyway.
