With the addition of the Dredge, more monster like killers are now possible. As inspired by the Dredge and the Trickster, I present The Revenant

EDIT: Added Survivor

Deaglán Mac Thaidhg, a warlock willing to sacrifice what it takes to escape.

Betrayed by his family, a young Deaglán turned away from his oath. Now following a darker path, he will use any means for his own gain. Rumors have it, his own rituals and dabbling into the dark arts has brought forth a shambling horror that lead to his disappearance.

His personal perks Reinvigorate, Boon: Ghost In The Machine, and Shrine of Blood allow him to slowly further his own success and grant small benefits to others.

Reinvigorate

Your use of herbs and techniques refresh those you heal. When healing other Survivors, the following takes place:

The Exhausted status effect recovers 50/100/150% faster for the Survivor being healed.

You recover from negative Status effects 100% faster.

You and the other Survivor's Auras are hidden from the Killer.

Boon: Ghost In The Machine

A boon that requests the aid of spirits. Press and hold the Active Ability button near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft chimes ring out within a radius of 24 metres. Blessing a totem with this Perk will cost the Survivor a Health State. Generators inside the Boon Totem's range benefit from the following effects:

Generators regress 25% slower.

Generators not regressing will gain 1% progress every 10/8/6 seconds.

You can only bless one Totem at a time. All equipped Boon Perks are active on the same Boon Totem.

Shrine of Blood

Through careful sacrifices, you grow ever stronger. When every other Survivor is injured, dying, or hooked, you will heal one Health State after 16/12/8 seconds. Shrine of Blood has a cool-down of 60 seconds.

Increases the odds of becoming the Killer's initial Obsession by +100%. The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

The Revenant

Difficulty: Moderate

A relentless amalgamation of nightmares, intent on chasing down and slowly bleeding out its prey. The more they run, the more they bleed.

Perks:

Contagious Malaise

Your sway over the minds of others causes weakness to spread like a disease. Survivors share Exhaustion to other Survivors within 8 metres, afflicting them all with the Exhaustion status effect for 30/40/50% of the duration from the original Survivor.

Alone In The Dark

You project a sense of overwhelming dread to Survivors. When hooking a Survivor, the furthest injured Survivor from you will scream, revealing their location and is affected by the Broken status effect for 30 seconds if there are no other Survivors within 32/24/16 metres.

Bleed For Me

You take great joy from injuring your favorite prey.

You become obsessed with one Survivor.

Whenever the Obsession loses a health state by any means, the Generator with the most Progression sparks, instantly losing 10/15/20 % of its Progression and starts to regress. Whenever the Obsession is healed and no longer injured, all Survivors currently repairing Generators are faced with a difficult skill check. Succeeding will grant that Generator 6/8/10% repair progress. Failing that skill check does nothing.

If the Obsession dies, the Generator with the most Progression sparks, instantly gaining 25% of its Progression.

------------

Power: Wicked Blade

Start the trial with 4 tokens.

Press and hold the Power button to charge a Wicked Blade before hurling it in a straight line. When a Wicked Blade connects with a Survivor inside your Terror Radius, the Survivor is affected by the Bleeding status effect. When a Wicked Blade connects with a Survivor outside your Terror Radius, the Survivor is affected by the Wounded status effect.

Wicked Blade gains a token every 8 seconds.

Special Effect: Wounded

The Survivor is affected by the Wounded status effect for 32 seconds. If the Survivor is not Stabilized by another Survivor, they will lose a health state. Being hit by Wicked Blade within the Revenant's Terror Radius will affect the Survivor with the Critical status effect. Being hit by a Wicked Blade outside the Revenant's Terror Radius will affect the Survivor with the Bleeding status effect.

Special Effect: Bleeding

The Survivor is affected by the Bleeding status effect for 16 seconds. If the Survivor is not Stabilized by another Survivor, they will lose a health state. Being hit by Wicked Blade within the Revenant's Terror Radius will cause the Survivor to lose a Health state. Being hit by Wicked Blade outside the Revenant's Terror Radius will affect the Survivor with the Critical status effect.

Special Effect: Critical

The Survivor is affected by the Critical status effect for 16 seconds. If the Survivor is not Stabilized by another Survivor, they will be put into the Dying state. Being hit by Wicked Blade will cause the Survivor to be put into the Dying state.

Special Interaction: Stabilize

A Survivor can Stabilize a Survivor affected by the Wounded, Bleeding or Critical status effects to patch them up. Stabilizing takes 6 seconds where Survivors are faced with continuous Skill Checks. If the Survivor misses one, the process restarts. Wounded, Bleeding, and Critical status effects durations are paused for the target Survivor while Stabilizing outside the Revenant's Terror Radius.

-----------------

Realm: Withered Isle, The Fleshyard

Height: Tall

Weapon: Deformed Claw

  • Part of the mass that forms into a mangled hand with three sharp fingers.

Speed: 110%

Terror Radius: 20 metres

Lullaby (Violins): 40 metres

(Yes, Deaglán summoned the Revenant by mistake)

The killer itself sounds like fun, I would definitely play as him. The concept of his power being somewhat like Doom in FF games, in which being affected by it means certain death if left unchecked, though no real harm is done to the character is something original and interesting. It does seem a bit confusing to me at first, but surely it can be easily learnt just by playing one round.

Still, I'd like to point out a few things that came to my mind. Though being hit by the power alone doesn't hurt anyone instantly, it does put a lot of pressure on survivors, because they absolutely need to attend to their 'wounds', so if in hands of a skilled player I guess it could potentially be a very OP killer. Does Wicked Blade have a cooldown? Using it consumes 1 token, I presume? What is the width of the projectile? Is it like a Huntress' hatchet, easily evaded? Can it hit more than one character at the same time?

Despite Wicked Blade being his only power and, potentially, easily avoidable, I think it can be a powerful asset, so powerful that having the killer's base speed be 115% of the average, I guess, seems quite a lot. But that is something directly related to the details of the power mentioned before (cooldown, width, etc). Also, Stabilizing is cool but it would complicate things for survivors way too much, so maybe just make it so failed test will simply give away their location?

Regarding the perks, Contagious Malaise sounds great, though maybe I would set a fix radius of 6 meters and a variable duration of 35/50/65%. Having a bigger radius, I think, would put survivors at a severe disadvantage. By reducing it but making it last potentially longer, you can isolate a survivor unless the others are trying to help him, which seems fairer to me than the other way.

I'm torn about Alone in the Dark. It looks cool, original and helpful while note being OP at all, but there's something... I don't know, I think it's just different from many perks so I can't really picture it in-game.

Bleed for Me seems interesting too, but maybe it would need a bit adjusting. That is something veteran players should be able to tell, I don't think I have enough insight on the game to say one way or another.

Overall, I really like your killer! I'd like to see him get in the game somehow. Here's hoping. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Im glad to hear. I was worried about the power description being too long but if I left anything out or simplified it too much it would be too confusing. If you have healing speed perks you're essentially trading a yellow glyph for a heal later. I like to think of it as not having to drop chase to pressure someone else, but the brunt of the power is more for using it in chase when they're just too far for an M1.

Wicked Blade is meant to be as slow if not slower than Huntress hatchets, the wounded-critical states are to counter not needing to aim with a curve, its more of a snipe or barrel stuff. They are meant to be easily evaded if you move from the trajectory within 1.5 seconds because Rev will hurl a blade, it vanishes into nothing and then pops up wherever it was aimed at so a survivor couldn't intercept it like a hatchet. They can only hit one at a time unless a piercing addon doesnt sound too OP.

I uh may have used a Killer template and forgot to change 115% movement speed, it should be 110 next edit. I actually wanted survivors to hide a bit because its not healing or mending so failing it won't give you away, it just restarts the Stabilizing process or continues the bleeding timer. I agree on the fixed radius for CM, maybe 8 meters or so. It actually reduces the exhausted times on survivors by spreading it around to keep survivors separated, but exhausted if you want them clumped up. The idea of not being safe even in a group.

AITD is more of a thematic fear factor perk, could be more useful on teleporting killers.

BFM is a weird one, basically its meant to reward you for toying with the Obsession and keeping them injured but eventually letting them go or killing them last. I wanted it to have a powerful impact like jolt does but concentrated on 1 generator, yet punish the killer as a trade off for letting the obsession escape and heal.

Thank you a lot for the feedback! My other killer idea's power somewhat got added in with the dredge so heres hoping a damage over time killer will too!
