What is it about this perk that warrants such elusiveness?

Isn't it random, other than perks that are added because they're required for a tome challenge?
I like the perk but it could use a secondary effect of some kind. Can't justify equipping it in this meta. I used to love running Kindred and Bond with it.

If it truly is random then Open Handed has the worst luck out of all the perks.

And thats with our lucky boi Ace ... seems like a stroke of bad luck.
But honestly, I use Open Handed in so many of my builds. Bond+Kindred+Open Handed is like using sanctionised wallhacks. With anyone hooked you can see the killer through walls pretty much on half the map without them knowing, turning any "mind game" into a Benny Hill sketch.
So many survivors falsly claim that SWF get all this info without burning a perk slot, but this survivors totally sleep on the fact that "knowing" or "hearing something being scribed" (I am entering shack now from the left side) is way inferior then actually SEEING it. I even use this build when SWFs, its just that good.

I NEED IT, its the only perk left to unlock from ace (i don't have the character), maybe thats why it doesn't appear

I feel you. Open Handed and Poised are the only survivor perks I have left to unlock. Open Handed is the only one I actually want though. I passed on Poised maybe twice now.
I'm dying for this perk atm and your post only strengthened my desire.

I mean you can at least buy ace with shards, it's not like you have to pay 500 auric cells just for a perk.

yeah but those shards are better spent on new unlicensed characters.

You ultimately still only "lose" 3k shards even if you just need a perk, I think.
But yeah.

This is the perk I've been waiting for in the Shrine. Didn't know it had been so long. I should just prestige Ace at this point sadly
