As a killer main, I would have done this meta/perk rework differently.
Instead of making BT baseline, I would have made DS baseline.
Instead of making killers break pallets faster, I would have made bamboozle baseline.
I would have buffed a regression perk other than overcharge, since the "difficult" skill check never works against red rank survivors.
That's all.

The difficult skill check never works against anyone with some practice and no input lag.

That is exactly my point. I find it harder to employ pain resonance nowadays due to the fact that it no longer alerts, and it seemed for a time that it would be a better alternative to use call of the brine + overcharge but nope, overcharge is a joke.

So here's the things about what you said:
-BT is a perk from Bill, who is in the base game. DS is a Laurie Strode perk, from The Evil Within chapter which is a licensed chapter. Giving every player a perk from a DLC that BHVR does not 100% own would probably breach some part of their contract with (whoever owns the Halloween franchise). It made more sense and was less dangerous to give people a free perk that everyone could get with some grinding instead of a perk from a paid DLC.
-Blocking windows that you vault for a time is a powerful tool, as it impedes survivor routes for escape. Pallets don't block survivors only killers, but killers can remove dropped pallets. Windows are stuck in place and for the killer to be able to block them is too strong for a base killer effect.
-I don't have anything for this point, but I do agree that "difficult" checks don't do much to impede progress unless survivors aren't paying attention or ditch the gen mid-check)

The perk is BHVR's. That's why they removed Stranger Things and everyone got the chapters' perks for free.

Either way, they'd still be giving people a perk that they'd have to purchase the character for.

DS baseline is a dumb idea because killer will just slug you

You can think that overcharge its the "anti tap" perk instead of a "dificult" skillcheck that indeed its mostly useless.

The difficult skill check is pretty difficult.
I still can't hit it consistently and 95% of people I play with (and against) can't either.

You can still tap the gen and complete the skill check as you run away btw...
A little hard to do, but definitely possible when you don't get stuck on a rock while concentrating on the skill check.
I agree with you. It's not the hardest thing in the world, but it definitely is harder than the DS skill check and I feel like lag/framerates can also impact whether someone hits it or not. I probably have over a 60% success rate with the skill check, but that 40% of the time when I miss it, it really hurts.

It is actually quite a bit more difficult than the DS skill check.
It can appear at 4'oclock on the wheel and it moves faster than a normal skill check, iirc. DS can only appear from 8'oclock to 12'oclock

Yeah, I've been trying to get better at hitting them more consistently, but even when they are later, I just psych myself out and miss it by being a tad too late.
It's like whenever I run Fast Track, I can't manage to get a great skill check, but without the perk, I'm hitting every great skill check without trying.
I've been actually hitting the skill check from tapping the gen more consistently now, which I find as an accomplishment. I definitely think that people make the skill check sound easier than it really is, the average player really needs to focus to make sure to hit it.

I disagree with bambooze basekir it would take too much fun out of the game so it need's to stay as perk.

Well I think it debends if you play on pc or console too. Skill checks are easier to hit with mouse than on controller button so I think all skill check should be bit bigger on console. I think ds should be just automatic I broke 2 controllers because of it BHVR should buy me new controller!

The default skill check button is space for PC, but I do agree that PC has an advantage over Console for the skillchecks. PC just runs better than Console so they have that, as well as being able to have higher framerates. I've seen some streamers who were on console and I have no idea how you guys hit the oppression or overcharge skill checks when the game is that sluggish looking.
Not sure if making the skill check larger is the best solution, probably the easiest one, but might not even help much if they only increase it by like 10-15%. I do think that they should make the DS skill check much larger considering it's now not super great.

I have't used ds after nerf it's not worth broking my controller again. I got most value from using it at gates usually. Well it was useful when you was tunneled but now we have otr. I have xbox series so skill check are not as bad with 60 fps but they would certainly be easier with 120 fps. I usually miss overcharge, some here say good survivors never miss it... I think lot debends on you fps! I used to have xbox one and skill check were nightmare and game usually lagged when doing ds skill check...
