Survivors deserve a meta perk returned
Considering killers got a very popular meta back with DMS+Scourge Hook, dead hard and self-care should be returned to make survivor gameplay a little more bearable and add some hope and fun back.
This is only one very small baby step to helping ease the misery and lack of motivation of survivors.
Survivor morale is the lowest in the history of DBD.

I mean Sprint Burst and COH are still the best perks by far. The other 2 can be hook or anti tunnel related. Gives more flexibility instead of running the same exact thing.

Self care, sure go ahead. DH lets not please? I don't want to have to spend 30 mins breathing down necks again thanks.
35 -
You can have Iron Will back but breathing sounds have to come back.
22 -
I would settle for ds to be back to what it was before since it was mostly fine
22 -
If Dead Hard ever comes back, I quit. I'm not joking. The ONLY reason I didn't was because the devs promised it was being looked at. That perk ruined this game, full stop. It has done far more damage than any other perk or perk combo in the game with the exception of old pre-nerf Ruin being paired with old pre-nerf Undying.
42 -
Or this. This is fine too
1 -
Yeah DH is probably a bad idea but I want old self care and old botany, so much better than what we have now... and DS too
4 -
Self-Care and DS are better options, imho.
Dead Hard should have been nerfed back in 2017.
11 -
That seems like a fair compromise with that one perk. It makes sense to have breathing sounds, but if you are using a perk slot, your grunts of pain should be 100% silent.
10 -
I'd say Self-Care and DS should definitely be looked at.
DS should absolutely be 5 seconds again and I haven't seen anyone dispute that. Self-Care got absolutely massacred. Good players will just use med-kits and bad players will throw even harder by healing for 2 minutes against Sloppy.
21 -
Tbh all they needed to do was add a set duration to merciless storm
2 -
No you cannot has old Dead Hard back. No sir.

DS should revert to 5 seconds. New DS = 1 second to land so survivors have only 2 seconds to make a distance. DS is 100% pointless against any killers with a power that helps with chases like Nurse, Blight, Spirit and Huntress. If survivors are in a dead zone and use DS, they are SOL because the killers can catch them up and hook them again.

I agree. Dead Hard should stay, well, dead.
11 -
Self-care nerf should be reverted, and DS stun duration reverted back to 5 seconds.
6 -
Can't DS go back to a 5 second stun so that there's at least the tiniest reason to not just immediately tunnel people off hook?

hi sluzzy

Okay, thread over. When GeneralV says something shouldn't go back to its old state, you know it was messed up. :P
But yeah, the nerfs to both Self-Care and DS were baffling. So was bringing back PR/DMS, honestly.

Truer words have never been spoken :)

Yeah I think self care was treated harshly, I think Dead Hard is a good change. This is coming from a disgruntled solo survivor.

Why is anyone behaving like DH is dead and burried? I have survivors use it to good effect quite often, but it isn't as oppressively strong anymore that it singelhandedly dominates every game, and if a survivor uses it correctly that shows some skill and gamesense and not some lazy "press E to be saved" stuff, like it so often did in the past.
DH still has basically the best activation requirements of all exhaustion perks, ie being injured and use it on demand, and its now a mindgame itself: do you use it at the right time, to you wait a lil longer? It can be easily wasted, but it can literally save your butt if you are ever caught out in the open and out of position.
DH went from a hated, overtly oppressive ultra-meta-perk to the thinking mans exhaustion perk and thats awesome! Who would have thought that BHVR could pull that off, ie nerf it without nerfing it to the ground. Brave BHVR :)

You shouldn't need to rely on a perk slot being used to just not be tunneled out off hook. It's entirely unfun for the person getting off hook and it's dogshit for the rest of the team who then get to put up being a person down at 4-5 gens remaining
1 -
The most hated part of DH is dead, the distance. Now I don't feel cheated when I get a hit, get a stack of STBFL, and that survivor has to mend or go down. Unlike the old times where I should have gotten a hit or a down but instead my attack would be rolled back or the chase would extend another 30+ seconds because they got to a pallet or very strong tile.
3 -
Self Care? Sure. DS? Sure. DH? HAHAHAHAHAHA no.
4 -
I don't think you realize the true problem dead hard used to be. Imagine if you goated your opponent into a mistake in any other competitive multiplayer game and they pressed a button that took this away from you. This perk took the satisfaction of rewarding players for doing well AWAY from them. There was no counter and dead hard validation screwed up several killers powers. That change MASSIVELY improved the game's health and evened out the ratio of killers to survivors. Going back on that highly praised change now would be the most foolish thing BHVR could POSSIBLY do!

Fellow survivor mains cant defend you. You mentioned DH.

As always, Sluzzy posts are the best laugh I get all day.

Not dh, ds should come back though
2 -
I'm fine with DH change, but then I never used it. IMO though, they were definitely heavy handed on other perks. Self Care was already in a bad state and didn't need a further nerf. And Calm Spirit nerf definitely wasn't necessary, I'm still scratching my head over that one.
1 -
I don't care about any of the perks but the one things survivors definitely need is less generator time
0 -
I just want iron will back. so i can play my rugged boiiissss
4 -
Indeed they have more flexibility why not bringing DS,BT or guardian and deception and pebble?
0 -
DH? No! Keep the perk dead, it's in a healthier spot now that it's high risk high reward and not low risk high reward
0 -
I don't think IW should have been touched, but the reason why I think they touched it is because they couldn't figure out how to not make it surpress other sounds like breathing and footsteps.
0 -
Self care sure thats fine but i dont want to see the old broken DH ever again. Also DS give the 5 seconds back but i do want it to stop working at endgame since people did abuse it to get free escapes. No free escape perks should work at endgame anymore.
1 -
I would bring IW back before DH.
1 -
Iron will should go back to 100% and leave the deactivate when exhausted, DH should stay where its at, and DS should be reverted back to 5 seconds.
2 -
Or maybe some new (good) perks with which a new meta can be built.
1 -
Self care is so bad now, I don't see why CoH should be so much better then it, Iron Will not working when exhausted seems like overkill on nerf, and decisive strike not working at exit gates being powered should have been enough.
On 1 hand I'm glad Iron Will got nerfed into nearly uselessness, don't feel like running it and using other perks instead

As much as I love my dead friend dead hard that perk was unfair,,, Period,, that being said Ds should return to its former duration but still deactivate in end game as it is no longer tunneling since game is wrapping up at that point
1 -
You can have calm spirit returned, in all its former glory.
1 -
It's amusing how many people think the game is broken because dead hard is gone. Try learning to play without it. Killers get metas changed all the time. Although I still don't get why they brought PR+DMS back just because of the niche situation of merciless storm that wasn't even used that much.

Dead Hard coming back will never happen, that absolute mistake of a perk can stay in the depths of hell where it belongs
Self Care and DS getting reverted would be fine though, especially DS, because then we’ll have a actual anti-tunnel perk instead of the hilariously ineffective OTR
0 -
Dead Hard is still really good.
0 -
Imagine wanting Dh is back lmao
2 -
Kindred should be meta like old dead hard is, but survivors dont want to waste a perk slot with a perk that isnt a second chance crutch perk, this is the problem.... But they beg for it to be basekit, hilarious
1 -
I don't mind the new DH, i think it's better than the old one. I just want Iron Will back 100% or keep 75% but can still be used when exhausted.
1 -
If many people think it, it is probably true. Why should survivors must constantly learn to play "without" something and killers don't? Survivors didn't get a Dead Hard replacement as killers got a meta replacement with the same boring perks that survivors have to content with. Killers still using slowdown perks.
Nothing is less fun in the game that having to let go of the gen just because the killer might have a very broken combo. If killers can't wait an extra second to bait out Dead Hard, all survivors shouldn't have to play around a broken meta combo.
1 -
I agree it should have never been nerfed. If a survivor managed to keep a 1-time use perk until endgame, they should deserve to still use it. That is punishment for doing well. Killers have endgame perks to "guarantee" or secure a kill, survivors should have the same.
Double-standards in balancing is very bad.
3 -
Self care should go back and DS should go back to 5 sec.
